But the worst thing of all, as someone who loves nothing more than going to coffee shops and forming relationships with the people who run and work in these treasured small businesses, is that there is simply no soul in this place. No appetite to serve the customer in a way that feels positive, or helpful, or caring beyond the transaction. The attitude is: bare minimum, transaction, next order. No consideration for offering any of the basics that accompany a meal or coffee anywhere in the world. I hate to say this but when you're not into something you do it shows and what's the point if the customer and the product come last?
