Monkey Joe's

Our first time here and I'm impressed. It's a cool old building and the staff was friendly and helpful. The coffee and cafe mocha were very good. Nice place to hang out!

Wow this place was warm cozy and SUPER friendly. I went there to work for a few hours and it was the perfect spot. There were a good selection of classic drinks and a seasonal menu as well! The entire place is decorated with huge sacks of coffee to roast and various monkey themed decor, on brand. The place is very connected to the community and have a window hutch area with various brochures and flyers for things to do around town and in county. Definitely a good spot to grab some Java or buy a bag of beans to brew at home!

A lot of people would say that 60 miles is too far to drive for a cup of coffee. On the day that I went to visit Monkey Joe Roasting Co for the first time, I was in Newburgh NY, a little more than 30 miles south of Kingston, and was facing another impending age appropriate night. I thought about half a dozen local options and then I remembered a cup of coffee that I'd had a couple days before. It was, and I find it hard to even say this; perfect. I called the Gunk Haus, complimented them about my splendid cup of java and asked them where they sourced their beans.. They told me, I thanked them and I hit the road. The place is classic coffee shop chic. The vibe was mellow and friendly and the coffee was a just reward. A lot of people would say that 60 miles is too far to drive for a cup of coffee but I say that's just not true. Not if the coffee is at Monkey Joe Roasting Co. Life is short but places like this make it sweet as well.

Their handmade drinks are quite good, and the coffee is well pulled. Strong without any bitterness. I haven't tried the food yet, but they sounded good so I'll have to go back. Oh, there's a bathroom in the antique shop. It's clean. Should I just go around reviewing public bathrooms lol? I was told that you can use the U driveway up front as a kind of drive thru? But there is parking on the antique shop side. It's a great location because you can walk around the shop while you wait for your drink - they have a cool selection if a variety of antiques. The only annoying thing is if you're going southbound, and you want to get back on the southbound side after. That left turn sucks.

For quick in and outs to grab coffee, you can pull into the wrap around driveway, or there is additional parking in the back. Every single drink on the menu is made to perfection and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients used. Some ingredients are made in haus! Anthony is the heart and soul behind the carefully curated Arios Coffeehaus. He is always welcoming and very friendly. We also love when his mom is filling in for him! The vibe is very classy, easy going and makes me feel like I'm in a little Italian cafe. My favorite drink is the midnight coconut. Collectively between myself, my boyfriend, and cousin we have tried every drink on the menu and every one of them hits the spot every time. We love the loyalty cards and make sure we always have ours in the car. This is my favorite coffee spot ever so far. I love the emphasis on local here. You can't help but to be aware of all the love and care that is continually poured into Arios. The key to your success will be to always remember that love and intention are the secret ingredients to anything good in life. Thank you for every wonderful visit!
