    Olive oil cake and mocha.

Warm welcoming service and chill vibe & music. Good, bitter cappuccino. Tasty gluten-free options among the baked goods. The GF oatmeal bar and the (non-GF) olive oil cake were delicious! And quite reasonable prices.

The pastry window was so appealing that we ended up getting 4 of them, and each was mindblowing. Drinks were spot on as well. We were sad to see they weren't open on Sunday. I'd definitely consider this place a must for coffee in Hudson!

Supernatural guy made my day on my last, snowy morning in Hudson.

Denizens of Hudson clearly value their coffee. They support at least three independent places that basically sell only coffee (okay, one of them sells motorcycles, and this one does home-baked pastries). This quirky little store is so inviting, and the coffee so good, it made me sad when it was closed on Sundays during my recent extended stay. But the best to this solitary traveler? The kindness and welcome of everyone working there!

While my drink was quite tasty, $5 for coffee in Hudson, NY is pretty ridiculous. And that's coming from someone who lives in NYC! I had the iced turmeric ginger latte as well as the iced mocha (btw, they charge you 24 cents to add ice...). Again, both drinks were delicious, but I would not go back at that price.

    Matcha

I myself got a matcha and chocolate chip cookie. Matcha was good, not muddy just the right hint of sweetness, creamy too but matcha flavor is present. Cookie was good! Downside is all drinks are one size, and they are basically smalls for 5 bucks which was the matcha price. Friendly and cute place.

The place Supernatural sent me to for "public restrooms"!

Incredibly bummed, especially seeing all the positive press around the quality and the sourcing…read morethey claim to approach business with, that quite a lot of the food being served was from SYSCO or another large similar restaurant supply vendor, ordered by the case and baked from frozen. Now first off, don't get me wrong, buying in bulk or sacrificing the quality of some ingredients to large suppliers like this is definitely a reality when running a restaurant. Even moreso in this day and age when ingredient prices are exorbitant. That said, it needs to be reflected in the price point. Pastries are arranged beautifully under cloches in the display case, but I could spot the premade, ready-to-bake spinach feta bistro (https://www.chefswarehouse.com/products/QZ119984/) or ham and cheese croissant (https://www.chefswarehouse.com/products/99971/) from a mile away. The avocado spread on the preassembled breakfast sandwiches is definitely the pulp from the 3lb bag from Chef's Warehouse too. I know that taste! All of that said, they had a few items in the case that I'm sure weren't from one of these big vendors. Which was great to see. My (yes, unsolicited!) advice would be to pare down the menu. Offer just a bit less so you can focus on the quality. Try and tap into some local producers if you can! That's one of the best things about the Hudson Valley... how much all the purveyors and markets and cafes support each other. It's clear too how much they care about the community. They're dog friendly inside. No WiFi to encourage people to chat with one another. Fine. I really want to see this place continue to thrive, it's just a bit of a bummer that a significant part of the menu including things that really should be fresh, aren't.

The lighting was a little odd but it is a cute concept. It's a renovated bank building so lots high ceilings and marble floors. It's technically two businesses: a sit down restaurant with European fare and a cafe full of flaky pastries and all the bon bons you've ever wanted. We did a little of both. We ordered a cocktail and bergamot soda at the restaurant (both of which were quite refreshing!) along with a steak frites that we shared. The fries were more like wedges which I liked and it also came with roasted carrots. Then, for dessert we popped over to the cafe for the brown butter bourbon and rye chocolate chip cookie! What a delight! So many flavors that I love packed into a dense cookie. YUM! Overall, Banque is a nice stop for some elevated dishes and treats in Hudson. Cocktail and bergamot soda

Talbott & Arding was chosen as our first stop on our girls' getaway journey. Tucked in the Hudson Valley, just an hour from the Berkshires, it was a sweetly energetic beginning to our day. We each chose a sandwich from the counter. My smoked salmon on focaccia was a delight. The bread, airy and light, beautifully happy yeast just bounding with lift, defying the constraints of olive oil which left my fingers gloriously glistening. I haven't had a focaccia as happy as that in a minute. Super thin radish, bright pickled shallot and fresh watercress all gave a nice vibrant touch. Ben's cream cheese couldn't possibly be creamier. And the delicate, silky, fresh, luxurious salmon... What a dream. So balanced. I filled my arms with goods- iberico salami, Aleppo chili oil, Blackstrap coffee beans, local chocolates, and an adorable Talbott & Arding puzzle. I'm sure I could have easily convinced myself to buy just about everything I laid my eyes upon. The cheese counter was an absolute work of art. It's clear that Talbott & Arding is a willing servant to the gifts of the surrounding earth and people. The homage it pays is palpable. I tried three items: the blueberry corn cookie, maple cruller, and the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. All were fantastic. The corn cookie was a novelty. It was crumbly and slightly gritty, as corn pastries tend to be. It wasn't too sweet. Although I'm glad I tried it, the cookie pales in comparison to the cruller, which was deliciously sweet, with crisp edges and a soft, custardy interior. The sandwich was great, as well. The eggs were fluffy, the bun soft, the bacon thick and crisp. It was good! If you're visiting Hudson, make this your first stop!

You can get the whole chicken, half or quarter. For me, quarter was more than enough. If you get a quarter chicken, you get two sides. If you get half a chicken, then you get three sides. I feel like it should be the opposite to offset the amount of food. But honestly it was perfect, still a big portion. For sides, they offer crispy fingerling potatoes, cole slaw, market salad and butter rice. Their Cole slaw is amazing with that poppyseed dressing. And salad had a variety of greens and crunchy toppings with a light dressing. Also! The plate comes with two sauces - spicy chili oil (mild) and yogurt dip. It was all SO FREAKING GOOD. I'm a dipper so bring on the sauce! The drink offering is also abundant. Lots of craft sodas, botanical drinks, coffees and a full bar in the back. Ghia hit the spot for me. It's not cheap but for this quality of food it's more than worth it. For the vibe..it's a confused vibe. You order at the counter and sit down with a number to wait for your food. The decor is eclectic which I thought was fun. But the music.. it went from country to weird edm dance music. I think Kittys can gain a lot from a curated playlist. Sitting there I felt curious and excited to be immersed more but it wasn't giving.
