    Bacon breakfast sandwich
    Kimmy U.

We stopped by here for brunch after seeing their breakfast sandwiches online. Half of Kitty's is a market/cafe and the other half is a restaurant/bar, but you can take your food to the restaurant area for seating. We got 2 breakfast sandwiches - one with sausage and one with bacon, and an order of hashbrowns The hashbrowns were puffy potato balls, which kinda reminded me of the potato balls at Gregoire's in Berkeley! Would've loved them way more if they were served hot and crispy, but unfortunately they were room temp and a little stale :/ We liked the chicken sausage breakfast sandwich better than the bacon, but both were good! I loved the sesame bun it came on, which added a nice airy vessel for all the heavy goodness inside

Two girlfriends and I were visiting another friend in the area and came to Kitty's for breakfast. It took us a minute to figure out that you need to order at the counter in the market side and then eat in the restaurant side. The line was pretty long when we arrived so we felt good about how tasty the food would be. And that was a correct assumption! We ordered several egg and cheese sandwiches which all came with sauerkraut and were delicious! We also couldn't resist the pastries so we shared several crullers and a cinnamon roll, all of which were absolutely delicious!

LOCATION: Located in a former railway storage building across from the Hudson train station. CONCEPT: Kitty's transforms throughout the day, from a place to pick up coffee, some market basics, lunch, a cocktail, or for a relaxing dinner in the dining room. The small market offers a curated collection of grocery items, including some used in the restaurant's dishes. EXPERIENCE: The small market invites discovery of unique twists on common items and many foreign and locally produced products. For example, a pale pink balsamic vinegar that is used to dress the restaurant's oysters is amongst the many colorful and flavorful items displayed. The egg sandwich is legendary -- fluffy, with a surprising addition of shredded pickled cabbage to offset the smoky, fatty strips of bacon and gooey melted cheese. During an early morning visit I was able to get one of Kitty's sought after items -- the French Cruller Donut. With many ridges, the exterior is crunchy, while the interior is light, moist, and airy. Several flavors are available each day. While I was enticed by some unique flavors, such as grape, I chose an employee's favorite -- salted caramel. The donut has become something that draws me back to Hudson, and the restaurant and market that masterfully produces this treat. SERVICE: Counter service is swift and friendly.

Ambiance is tops. Solid kitchen Scones for a snack are fantastic. The evening restaurant is a destination.

This review is for the cafe, which two friends and I ate at one night recently. It was kind of like the Hudson River Valley's version of tapas; a good number of small dishes, which we ordered and all shared. But I get ahead of myself: They have an impressive bar, and we all enjoyed the drinks we had before dinner. Now that that's out of the way: We ordered Alex's plate (who doesn't love mortadella? Oh, right vegetarians and vegans; 2 out of 3 of us loved it...), chicken in a blanket (so freakin' good), the farmer's cheese with table bread, the pickled vegetables and buttered carrots (another table fave). My friends may have had the beets and cauliflower as well and enjoyed them; I don't care for either so can't judge! The great news about eating 99% veggies is you've had a good meal, but still have room for dessert! We shared the Banofee Sundae: labne ice cream, banana, dulce de leche, cocoa biscuit and torched Italian meringue. Neat! Overall, we really loved the combination of flavors in each dish and how fresh everything was. Had an awesome server as well. Definitely recommend!

We stopped by here after seeing it was well loved on social media and it did not disappoint! It's a colorful market and cafe with quick counter service, all tucked in across from the train station. The breakfast sandwich had delightfully fluffy eggs (not to mention the shocking pairing of sauerkraut) and the tater tots were delicious fried mashed potato balls. Highly recommend for a quick stop on your way into Hudson!

Stopped by this cute restaurant/market for lunch. There's a small sit down restaurant that's open for dinner and an appended market that's open for breakfast and lunch. Lovely staff, hipster/hippy vibe. The menu is very small but our orders were truly excellent. I had a delicious pulled pork sandwich served on a warm, crusty hero. I wouldn't have complained if it was 20% bigger. My wife loved her quarter rotisserie chicken plate. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The salad was deliciously different and perfectly composed. Even the rice was good. The market had an interesting selection of foods for sale. We're sorry that we won't be able to come back for dinner. If the menu appeals to you, go for it!

This is the 2nd time I ate at Kitty's Market in Hudson. It's across from the Amtrak Station. I've been here 2 times before during Covid where you order at the window and sit in the garden out back. I got their rotisserie chicken with sides. Fabulous chicken and sides. Recently, I ordered inside and sat inside. The prior time we had the breakfast sandwich and the traveling hash browns. Followed by their cruller. Cruller was like a churro. Very tasty. Today we ordered the eggs over rice and the salad and the traveling hash brown. We shared it. Was delish. They had ample seating and the bar is great for single seating. Plenty of outside seating too. Nicely spaced tables and they had nice comfy booths. Service was friendly and quick. Very enjoyable experience

Woke up at 8am and walked to Kitty's kind of early. I don't have a picture of the cheese pull, but that melted cheese and sauerkraut w/ that sauce was amazinggggg on this breakfast sandwich. Take a look at that stacked egg sandwich! I love how soft the eggs and sesame bun were. The hashbrowns are super crispy outside and soft inside. Would definitely drop by again if I'm in Hudson NY!

We stopped by Kitty's Market during our weekend getaway at Hudson, NY. We really loved the atmosphere of the market. The outdoor garden in the back was the perfect spot for brunch or lunch with friends or family. There is also a restroom available if you need one! We knew we had to go because of the raving reviews of this spot! We were not disappointed by the food. Apparently Kitty's Market is known for their rotisserie chicken and they should be because it is SO GOOD. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was super juicy. We stopped by for breakfast and came back for lunch because the food was that good. We got to try their breakfast egg sandwich and the egg was perfectly made. The one critique that I might have is that the food was a bit on the pricier side for the amount of food we got. The egg and cheese sandwich with bacon came out to be around $9 and the half a rotisserie came out to be around $12. We got a side of extra nice rice which was a pretty small portion size for $5. We also got a smoked kielbasa dog for $12. Overall, aside from that, a nice spot to visit during a stay at Hudson!

Wow! This is a 10/5! Located across from Amtrak station In Hudson they carry a little bit of everything and make the worlds best breakfast sandwiches! While waiting for ours a customer came back in to tell them he has eaten egg and cheese his whole life and this was the best ever!! They also offer chicken meals with assorted sides that looked fabulous. Eventually a sit down restaurant will be opening next to the market with outdoor event space!

Incredibly bummed, especially seeing all the positive press around the quality and the sourcing…read morethey claim to approach business with, that quite a lot of the food being served was from SYSCO or another large similar restaurant supply vendor, ordered by the case and baked from frozen. Now first off, don't get me wrong, buying in bulk or sacrificing the quality of some ingredients to large suppliers like this is definitely a reality when running a restaurant. Even moreso in this day and age when ingredient prices are exorbitant. That said, it needs to be reflected in the price point. Pastries are arranged beautifully under cloches in the display case, but I could spot the premade, ready-to-bake spinach feta bistro (https://www.chefswarehouse.com/products/QZ119984/) or ham and cheese croissant (https://www.chefswarehouse.com/products/99971/) from a mile away. The avocado spread on the preassembled breakfast sandwiches is definitely the pulp from the 3lb bag from Chef's Warehouse too. I know that taste! All of that said, they had a few items in the case that I'm sure weren't from one of these big vendors. Which was great to see. My (yes, unsolicited!) advice would be to pare down the menu. Offer just a bit less so you can focus on the quality. Try and tap into some local producers if you can! That's one of the best things about the Hudson Valley... how much all the purveyors and markets and cafes support each other. It's clear too how much they care about the community. They're dog friendly inside. No WiFi to encourage people to chat with one another. Fine. I really want to see this place continue to thrive, it's just a bit of a bummer that a significant part of the menu including things that really should be fresh, aren't.

There was a wonderful, seasonal selection of dishes: something for everyone at my table (pescatarians, vegetarians, carnivores and omnivores). And I really appreciated the effort that went into plating and presentation. It was very well done. And the food was as delicious as it was beautiful. Flavors and textures married well. After completing culinary school, Murphy started a Yonkers-based catering company, and later, in 2016, moved north to open a brick and mortar cafe -- Lady K's Southern Comfort. LOCATION: Lady K's Southern Comfort is located in a small strip mall along Violet Avenue/Route 9G. Ample parking is available. CONCEPT: Lady K's offers quintessential southern comfort food, such as rice with pigeon peas and slow cooked savory collard greens, however tastes of other culinary heritages, such as empanadas, are sprinkled across the menu. Lady K's primarily offers dishes that represent home cooked southern meals -- on site, as take out, or custom catered events. SERVICE: One thing that stands out about Lady K's Southern Comfort is the homey feeling. This extends to the service. During my weekend afternoon visit Khalliah and Shawn Murphy's daughter and son were eagerly helping (Little K and Littlest K). Although customers place their orders at the counter, I was still asked whether I liked what I had chosen. My response brought a proud smile to Little K's face! EXPERIENCE: Plates are available in three sizes, with a protein and two choice of sides. I experienced the small fried chicken with collard greens and macaroni and cheese on the side. Khalliah's family were known for their fried chicken recipe in their Bronx neighborhood, so it comes as no surprise that the chicken was expertly executed -- crisp, non-greasy exterior encasing juicy, moist interior at every bite. Complementing this was the collard greens, in which multiple flavors were married and had just the right amount of vinegary flavor. Next time I will ask for double sides of collard greens -- it's that outstanding! While multiple tables are set up for dining, Lady K's is currently primarily set up for take out. Although photos on Yelp suggest there was plated service in the past, all food is now served in compartmented styrofoam take out containers. This was my only disappointment as I feel household plates and utensils would reflect the homey dishes for those who are looking to dine in. TIPS: Check Lady K's Facebook profile for rare temporary changes in daily hours. Kool Aid is one of the beverage options. I have never seen that before in a menu and I think it's available adds to the homey aspect of the meals prepared at offered at Lady K's Southern Comfort. Kool Aid was a staple in homes in my neighborhood, and the cheerfully colored packets of flavoring powders are rarely found in grocery stores today.
