My girlfriend and I went to Le Perche for the first night of a monthly summer dinner series. We have been for brunch, for their fresh breads and for their many amazing baked goods, but Le Perche is rarely open for dinner so we did not know what to expect. Dinner was OUTSTANDING. We started with their signature focaccia, fresh out of the oven. Then, a seasonal Asparagus Tarte that was very much a deconstructed version: a delicious butter crust at the bottom of the plate, frisée lettuce, perfectly prepared asparagus topped with a pecorino creme vinaigrette. The perfect spring dish. Next was a Tuna crudo with ramp oil, watermelon radishes, fresh microgreens and toasted hazelnuts. Finally, their take on a Frisée aux Lardons, served with pickled figs. The lardons themselves were nicely crisped, and very satisfying. We had Negronis for cocktails, and a generous carafe of rose, served off the tap. All around one of the best meals I've had. Can't wait for the next menu that Chef Jeffrey Gimmel puts together. This place has been on my list since 2021, when we first visited Hudson. And so glad we made it even though it was years later. The ambiance was an old French cafe. They did not have a long selection but whatever we tried was great. We had their French omelette which was delicious: kale pesto and poached eggs with a side of salad. The pesto was so good. We tried their French onion soup and cinnamon roll both of which were great. Service was great. The staff was sweet. Must visit if you're in Hudson. read more

Unfortunately Le Perche doesn't open when they say they are going to be open, and they give no notice. I hear the food is good, but you're better off trying one of the other tasty Hudson joints that is more consistent. read more

Came here for brunch with friends and the service was great. The food was great. I believe I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was on point, crispy, and in great portion. The coffee was great as well, enough to wake me up to head back home. The backyard was spacious and cozy for brunch on a Sunday. I had a lovely Saturday brunch here with friends! We began our morning at the farmers market and then walked over for our reservation here. The restaurant is quite large, and I loved the outdoor seating area, but we ended up sitting inside. I ordered a cappuccino and the Tuscan Kale Pesto which were both delicious. I actually couldn't finish my entree because I was sneaking bites of my friend's French toast and my other friend's Short Rib Hash. To be honest, I wouldn't order the French toast as an individual entree because it's so huge and doesn't come with anything. It's literally just a giant piece of bread. It's good, but it would be better shared among the table. I loooved the seasoning of the potatoes in the Short Rib Hash. I ate more than I should have. read more

When looking for a Sunday Brunch in Hudson NY, this place looked like one of the best choices. However, there were not that many options. We had a 12pm reservation, and arrived to a line out the door. If a dreary day brought diners out, this place must be good. To be fair, many were in line for the bakery located inside the restaurant. We were seated in the dining room; which was a big, loud old room that had a fire place, high ceilings, and wooden floors that shifted and squeaked anytime someone walked by. Not too annoying, by any means. The young waiter was great. Attentive, fast and friendly. We started with a dbl espresso, a chocolate croissant and a Kouign-amann. Unfortunately, none of the baked goods we chose were available. They were out of a lot of selections. Hence, the line. We were able to get a Cinnamon Roll. Which was good. For mains; Le Perche Croque Madame and French Toast. More like a brick of bread, stuffed with custard and topped with way too little syrup. It was so different and just plain dumb. I ate about half of it and then lost interest. The Croque Madame was nothing special. My wife makes way better sandwiches at home. We didn't look at a dessert menu and didn't stop by the bakery on our way out. We had enough let downs for the day. read more

Truly a great spot for brunch, so glad we chose to come here! 5 of us sat upstairs & where served by the loveliest person(didnt get her name). She was so cool, almost felt like asking her to sit with us! Attentive&genuine, couldn't ask for better...but the food....O M G! What a great display of perfection, from my Short rib hash(I didn't leave not one morsel behind) whi h had 2 perfectly poached eggs on top of potatoes with the beef at the bottom by this delish green sauce, holy crap! 2 of us had this dish, out of this world. My other friends had the spicey chicken sandwich, and then theres the French toast!!! People, get ready, this think is a legit brick of bread filled with custard fat-assery. When hunger fails to enhance the flavor of your food that's when you know you'd be better off elsewhere. The star of the show in the fish and chips was most definitely the chips. Bravo to the fry-er and the ketchup manufacturer. The fish and batter failed to win the chefs attention and thus was not seasoned. The introduction of a bit of salt and pepper could have changed the outcome. Lovely staff and service. Staff was attentive and speedy. The only offender was the chef. I'm not saying Jail is appropriate for the offense but if your main function is to apply seasoning to food and you've failed to do so, you may as well confine yourself to the solace of your own home and not take space from others in the kitchen. I highly recommend le perche for a couple's first date as the ambiance is romantic, the decor is impeccable and the nerve of your first meeting will surely prevent you from taking many bites. read more

This place is a 9/10 perfection. Honestly inspiring the balance of upstate country charm, French influences, and that spectacular garden. The service is polite and fresh without feeling stuffy. It's all so bright and inviting that you can be lulled into a sense of perfection until, that is, you hear it: The Music. Music should be the last thing on anyone's mind at a restaurant, until it's terrible. The post-modern country bleating soundtrack is so far out of place I thought I'd left heaven and was about to race head first down a dirt road in the Permian basin, mad as hell that Tiffany just slept with my cousin. Le Perche is a little French restaurant tucked away in Hudson. They have a few tables outdoor (which is great during the summertime) and several tables indoor including counter top. There were also tables in the back patio that were enclosed when I visited with heat lamps and honestly, the set up made it so cute. Our server was David and he was an absolute gem, constantly checking up on us and making sure everything was great. Our group ordered quite a bit of things but some notable standouts were the tivoli mushroom toast and the mussels which had this sweet and spicy sauce with a slice of bread soaked underneath all that goodness. I would have preferred the slice of bread on the side to dip but delicious regardless. Get the focaccia and their croissants as well. Croissants were flaky and super buttery. Fries are also fried so perfectly with aioli so highly recommend that as well. I'll be back again next time for sure! read more

I hate writing bad reviews. We were expecting a cozy, warm restaurant with a lunch menu that had some variety. What we experienced weas a cold, drafty, noisy, packed joint with inexperienced waitstaff. The lunch menu of the day was limited. The spicy chicken sandwich was greasy and WAY too breaded. The roll is was on was VERY stale. The so-called "Turkish" lentil soup was underspiced except for hot pepper. The waitperson acted like he was stoned. While in town we stopped here for breakfast with friends. The selections on the menu ranged from breakfast fare to lunch sandwiches. The descriptions made it difficult to decide on what to eat. Our table finally opted for French toast, breakfast sandwich, hash & potatoes, croissant and the croque Madame. Everyone loved their selections- the pastries and bread were exquisite - the largest flakiest croissant I've ever seen, same with the monster sized French toast! The ham egg and cheese on brioche was tasty, the sautéed leeks on the sourdough croque Madame with ham and Gruyère was a great choice. Super cute branch place in downtown Hudson. There is a great outdoor seating area in the back that is enclosed. The focaccia bread was absolutely fantastic with just the right amount of salt and super fluffy inside. The portion is also ginormous, definitely a great value. Anyway, We have our meals which was ok. Nothing to write home about. The milk bread French toast. It was crusty and hard on the outside actually burnt and hard. The inside was soft but no flavor. The Le Perche croque madame was not too good, unless you like leeks. A whole lot of leeks. Did I mention a lot of leeks? And their freshly squeezed orange juice came in sour. Guess it wasn't too fresh. Makayla changed it out and the second glass was worse!!! I've had freshly squeezed orange juice before, that was not it!!! The food wasn't that good, but Makayla made it ok by her good service. After our meal we walk down the stairs and we see the two guys that came in after us sitting down in the main area!!! What was that about? We were wondering why he stuck us up there, the main area was empty. Hmm, whatever... maybe we didn't fit the "decor" downstairs. To think of it, the other two couples that were put up in the upstairs room didn't gel well with the downstairs "decor" either. Well, if anything, it was an experience. Would we go again? We stopped by Le Perche the on a Saturday for brunch. Luckily they were busy, but not so busy we couldn't get seated right away. We had heard many good things and couldn't wait to try this place! The atmosphere is very cute and charming. They have a bigger patio out back, but that being said I'd still recommend a reservation just to make sure you don't have to wait for larger groups. Our server was great! She was around when we needed her without being obtrusive. She was very friendly and sweet - I regret not catching her name! Food wise our server recommended the Kale Pesto and IT DELIVERED!! It was delicious and had so much dimension to it!! It was a little spicy and had a nice crunch from the nuts they added. My husband ordered the duck hash and had regrets after he tasted my food. If you're in search of eggs, look no further. There are many, many, egg dishes on the menu for lunch. I really came looking for a hummus sandwich but that must have been a menu from another year. Never mind. I decided to order from what was there. Truth be told, I had little other choice. (Many restaurants in Hudson are not open for lunch and many are not open at all unless it's a weekend.) I had a dish which featured two fried eggs, kale pesto and a slice of bread. The kale pesto was very, very good and there was a lot of it! Also, it's a beautiful space. Came up to Hudson for our 5 year anniversary. We were walking down the strip and picked out a couple options. Finally landing here. Great choice. I got the egg sandwich with bacon. The bun was not super thick and was really browned and crispy. It was so good. No ketchup needed. And I'm a ketchup guy. My wife got some Monte Christo thing that was delicious. Her lemonade was banging. I got a coffee and I'm a milk and sugar guy. However I didn't specify and got it black. It was good enough to drink black. What a terrible disappointment and, I think, a health risk. I am so sorry to report this because I so wanted to like this place. But, I really have negative things to say. I will add that I write very few one and two star reviews. So, this bad review must really be important to me. Let me start by saying it looks wonderful when you come in. There is a delicious looking collection of pastries in a glass case. The ambiance and vibe is wonderful. And, we loved the back courtyard. It was a great place for lunch. That is why there are two stars instead of one. I ordered an omelette, which the waitress described as s French omelette with French herbs and filled with garnet cheese. There was a side of salad. Now comes the crappy part. The omelette was under cooked. There was nearly raw egg inside. There was not an herb to be seen. And the cheese was a lump on one side of the omelette. So, I mentioned this to the waitress. She looked at me and didn't say a word. I asked to mention it to the chef. Not a word. I left it mostly uneaten on my plate. Not a word. Basically, she didn't care. To make matters worse, my niece ate her poached egg on spaghetti squash. About 30 minutes later, she was running to the bathroom. My wife enjoyed her meal. WOW! We stopped by for a random weekday lunch after Xmas and were absolutely blown away! We managed to immediately score two seats at the counter, and received prompt, friendly service. With a line out the door and larger parties getting turned away, we felt lucky (and we were!). The Mushroom Toast was sublime - the best open faced mushroom soup sandwich ever. Is that even a thing? It is now, and it is divine. Crusty bread, runny egg, perfectly cooked mushrooms and a rich (but not overpowering) mushroom cream sauce. Husband had the chicken sandwich. The food was excellent and front of the restaurant is little cafe/bakery area with the most excellent croissants. Their croissants are flaky, fluffy not greasy or flat. We tried alot of croissant in NYC and Paris and I have to say this place has one of the best! Tried ham and cheese, chocolate and almond. All were very good. We were not so keen on their coffee, it's ok. Our lattes were flat, watered down taste, and it's probably due to the barista techniques. There is no better breakfast in town than Le Perche, and they do it very, very well. And yes the French toast is the stuff of legend, and deservedly so. Chefs pay attention to the food, though without fussiness or excess. Mushroom toast is exquisite, and coffee is top notch. Some viennoserie (breakfast pastries) too. Oh and fried oysters! Visiting for a weekend catskills trip and stumbled upon this place. Extremely cute little quaint setting with many seating locations. (Outdoor curb side, interior bar, interior dining room, outdoor garden area in the back) I just had a cappuccino ($5) and their avocado toast with eggs.. ($24) The food was exceptionally well seasoned and thoroughly enjoyed the staff. I was surprised by the waitress with a to go bag of two croissants which was so thoughtful. The patio area is dog friendly and all of the tables are pretty spaced out making it extra comfy for everyone! The menu is limited, which isn't a bad thing - Makes deciding what to get a lot easier! We ordered the house made lox + eggs and the duck hash with salsa verde, and a side of fries. The main dishes came out a bit under seasoned but it wasn't anything a little s/p couldn't fix. The fries were delicious and has a perfect crisp. The fries paired well with the house made aioli.
