We came for brunch and they were out of most baked goods, i guess that means they're very popular but the brunch dishes sadly did not make up for it that day. We tried the croque madame and the gooey mushy French toast brick. I guess people love it? I did not. They had cinnamon rolls which were VERY good so an extra star for that and the coffee was alright. Cheers.

Came here for brunch with friends and the service was great. The food was great. I believe I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was on point, crispy, and in great portion. The coffee was great as well, enough to wake me up to head back home. The backyard was spacious and cozy for brunch on a Sunday. I'd love to come back again here for more quality time enjoyment : ) P.S. I didn't get to try out the bakery and they look alright from the visual

I had a lovely Saturday brunch here with friends! We began our morning at the farmers market and then walked over for our reservation here. The restaurant is quite large, and I loved the outdoor seating area, but we ended up sitting inside. I ordered a cappuccino and the Tuscan Kale Pesto which were both delicious. I actually couldn't finish my entree because I was sneaking bites of my friend's French toast and my other friend's Short Rib Hash. To be honest, I wouldn't order the French toast as an individual entree because it's so huge and doesn't come with anything. It's literally just a giant piece of bread. It's good, but it would be better shared among the table. I loooved the seasoning of the potatoes in the Short Rib Hash. I ate more than I should have.

When looking for a Sunday Brunch in Hudson NY, this place looked like one of the best choices. However, there were not that many options. We had a 12pm reservation, and arrived to a line out the door. If a dreary day brought diners out, this place must be good. To be fair, many were in line for the bakery located inside the restaurant. We were seated in the dining room; which was a big, loud old room that had a fire place, high ceilings, and wooden floors that shifted and squeaked anytime someone walked by. Not too annoying, by any means. The young waiter was great. Attentive, fast and friendly. We started with a dbl espresso, a chocolate croissant and a Kouign-amann. Unfortunately, none of the baked goods we chose were available. They were out of a lot of selections. Hence, the line. We were able to get a Cinnamon Roll. Which was good. For mains; Le Perche Croque Madame and French Toast. More like a brick of bread, stuffed with custard and topped with way too little syrup. It was so different and just plain dumb. I ate about half of it and then lost interest. The Croque Madame was nothing special. My wife makes way better sandwiches at home. We didn't look at a dessert menu and didn't stop by the bakery on our way out. We had enough let downs for the day.

    Fish and chips

When hunger fails to enhance the flavor of your food that's when you know you'd be better off elsewhere. The star of the show in the fish and chips was most definitely the chips. Bravo to the fry-er and the ketchup manufacturer. The fish and batter failed to win the chefs attention and thus was not seasoned. The introduction of a bit of salt and pepper could have changed the outcome. Lovely staff and service. Staff was attentive and speedy. The only offender was the chef. I'm not saying Jail is appropriate for the offense but if your main function is to apply seasoning to food and you've failed to do so, you may as well confine yourself to the solace of your own home and not take space from others in the kitchen. I highly recommend le perche for a couple's first date as the ambiance is romantic, the decor is impeccable and the nerve of your first meeting will surely prevent you from taking many bites.

Le Perche is a cute restaurant on a popular street in Hudson! My friend and I stopped in for lunch after a hike and it was a perfect spot. They have a good variety on their menu and we both opted for the spicy chicken sandwich. It was delicious! Definitely spicy but very flavorful and done well. The chicken was great! The staff was also really attentive given how busy it was but everything went smoothly. We also checked out their variety of bread and baked goods which seemed super popular and I would love to be back to try those as well.

This place is a 9/10 perfection. Honestly inspiring the balance of upstate country charm, French influences, and that spectacular garden. The service is polite and fresh without feeling stuffy. It's all so bright and inviting that you can be lulled into a sense of perfection until, that is, you hear it: The Music. Music should be the last thing on anyone's mind at a restaurant, until it's terrible. The post-modern country bleating soundtrack is so far out of place I thought I'd left heaven and was about to race head first down a dirt road in the Permian basin, mad as hell that Tiffany just slept with my cousin. The music, I'm sure, has its place, but it's not here. Turn it down, turn it off, or change it to anything gentle, unassuming, and charming like the rest of the garden. For god's sake, don't destroy this otherwise perfect ambiance.

French toast is incredible! It's a thick piece of toast, almost as big a a full loaf!

Le Perche is a little French restaurant tucked away in Hudson. They have a few tables outdoor (which is great during the summertime) and several tables indoor including counter top. There were also tables in the back patio that were enclosed when I visited with heat lamps and honestly, the set up made it so cute. Our server was David and he was an absolute gem, constantly checking up on us and making sure everything was great. Our group ordered quite a bit of things but some notable standouts were the tivoli mushroom toast and the mussels which had this sweet and spicy sauce with a slice of bread soaked underneath all that goodness. I would have preferred the slice of bread on the side to dip but delicious regardless. Get the focaccia and their croissants as well. Croissants were flaky and super buttery. Fries are also fried so perfectly with aioli so highly recommend that as well. I'll be back again next time for sure!

If you want a French toast larger than your face to stuff your face with and then turn into a French toast to be served with syrup, you've come to the right place. After reading so many raving reviews about Le Perche, this was the perfect spot to walk into for brunch as the last service of a cold lil Saturday afternoon. We were fortunate enough to find a walk-in option and really enjoy an awesome Saturday brunch with our friends. After driving for a little over an hour, we were definitely starving and excited to stuff our faces with anything we could see, especially those flaky croissants ***that I didn't end up ordering*** because I asked for a random inexistent ricotta toast from like 5 years ago and they recommended the French toast instead. Like what is wrong with me?????? So I ordered that toast. Zero regrets. I'm not even a french toast girl, waffles let's GO. It was thicccccccccccccccc looked a bit on the darker side and I was not ready for what was coming: a crispy on the outside, soft, triple moist, flan-like, lemony center that was to die for. Best choice of my afternoon in Hudson! It's of course topped with syrup AND doesn't need to be remoisturized because of how incredibly made that french toast is. We ordered drinks, breakfast sandwiches and I had my eye on that cheesy onion soup that's perfect for a cold, winter day. The owner was SO nice that at the end of the shift, since they'd be closed for a few days, they gifted us some of the leftover baked goods. We were head over heels. Loved the food, loved the service and can't wait to be back! What started from oh, I can't wait to have a chocolate croissant and coffee ended up with French toasts and french margaritas. What in the world? Only at Le Perche. Loved my decisio

While in town we stopped here for breakfast with friends. The selections on the menu ranged from breakfast fare to lunch sandwiches. The descriptions made it difficult to decide on what to eat. Our table finally opted for French toast, breakfast sandwich, hash & potatoes, croissant and the croque Madame. Everyone loved their selections- the pastries and bread were exquisite - the largest flakiest croissant I've ever seen, same with the monster sized French toast! The ham egg and cheese on brioche was tasty, the sautéed leeks on the sourdough croque Madame with ham and Gruyère was a great choice. The corned beef hash with potatoes was flavorful and quite decadent. Freshly squeezed orange juice & fresh berry lemonade paired nicely. Our server was friendly and attentive. Ambience was great and the outdoor dining space was very cute. Highly recommend them for breakfast or brunch.

Super cute branch place in downtown Hudson. There is a great outdoor seating area in the back that is enclosed. The focaccia bread was absolutely fantastic with just the right amount of salt and super fluffy inside. The portion is also ginormous, definitely a great value. On the flip side, the duck hash was just meh, I wish they gave you more salsa and the flavor was a bit bland. The tuna tartare was good and well seasoned. Service was friendly and prompt.

Service was great!!! Our waitress was Makayla was really good. Food wasn't as I expected. We looked at reviews and it featured French cuisine, but when we got there the menu had Asian inspired food. Milk Bread French toast and kimchee fried rice. Hmmm... Asian not French. What kinda turn us off was when we first came in. The guy at the front asked my wife and I do we have reservations. Of course we said no, there was a couple guys that walked in after us, same thing no reservation. But he tells us follow him. He takes us up a staircase up to a room very secluded and very dead. Only two there couples were up there. The ambience in that dead room was very awkward because you somewhat become self conscious talking. It's like in a library you don't want to disturb others. Anyway, We have our meals which was ok. Nothing to write home about. The milk bread French toast. It was crusty and hard on the outside actually burnt and hard. The inside was soft but no flavor. The Le Perche croque madame was not too good, unless you like leeks. A whole lot of leeks. Did I mention a lot of leeks? And their freshly squeezed orange juice came in sour. Guess it wasn't too fresh. Makayla changed it out and the second glass was worse!!! I've had freshly squeezed orange juice before, that was not it!!! The food wasn't that good, but Makayla made it ok by her good service. After our meal we walk down the stairs and we see the two guys that came in after us sitting down in the main area!!! What was that about? We were wondering why he stuck us up there, the main area was empty. Hmm, whatever... maybe we didn't fit the "decor" downstairs. To think of it, the other two couples that were put up in the upstairs room didn't gel well with the downstairs "decor" either. Well, if anything, it was an experience. Would we go again? Probably not. Overrated expensive food. Gonna try REAL French cuisine later.

Now first off, don't get me wrong, buying in bulk or sacrificing the quality of some ingredients to large suppliers like this is definitely a reality when running a restaurant. Even moreso in this day and age when ingredient prices are exorbitant. That said, it needs to be reflected in the price point. Pastries are arranged beautifully under cloches in the display case, but I could spot the premade, ready-to-bake spinach feta bistro (https://www.chefswarehouse.com/products/QZ119984/) or ham and cheese croissant (https://www.chefswarehouse.com/products/99971/) from a mile away. The avocado spread on the preassembled breakfast sandwiches is definitely the pulp from the 3lb bag from Chef's Warehouse too. I know that taste! All of that said, they had a few items in the case that I'm sure weren't from one of these big vendors. Which was great to see. My (yes, unsolicited!) advice would be to pare down the menu. Offer just a bit less so you can focus on the quality. Try and tap into some local producers if you can! That's one of the best things about the Hudson Valley... how much all the purveyors and markets and cafes support each other. It's clear too how much they care about the community. They're dog friendly inside. No WiFi to encourage people to chat with one another. Fine. I really want to see this place continue to thrive, it's just a bit of a bummer that a significant part of the menu including things that really should be fresh, aren't.

These days, it feels like every bar has a cocktail menu full of creatively named drinks that require reading a list of ingredients just to figure out what you're ordering. At Governor's Tavern, if you want a gin and tonic, you simply ask for a gin and tonic. The only decision you need to make is which gin you'd like. I'm not much of a cocktail person, but I appreciate that not every place feels the need to reinvent the wheel. The place was packed at lunchtime, but we got lucky and grabbed a pair of seats across from the bar. The server who I quoted was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Guinness, but unfortunately the keg had just kicked. She recommended the Samuel Smith chocolate stout instead and even brought me a sample before I committed to taste since I never heard of it, which was a nice touch.
