This was our first stop in Hudson and it was really cute! We were looking for a spot that was close to the brewery we were meeting friends at after and this fit the bill. The lighting was a little odd but it is a cute concept. It's a renovated bank building so lots high ceilings and marble floors. It's technically two businesses: a sit down restaurant with European fare and a cafe full of flaky pastries and all the bon bons you've ever wanted. We did a little of both. We ordered a cocktail and bergamot soda at the restaurant (both of which were quite refreshing!) along with a steak frites that we shared. The fries were more like wedges which I liked and it also came with roasted carrots. Then, for dessert we popped over to the cafe for the brown butter bourbon and rye chocolate chip cookie! Beautifully decorated establishment with equally nice bathrooms (yes, it's come to this, LOL!) Their large croissants were flaky and buttery and their soup and sandwich were both equally delicious. Service was quick and friendly. We got there an hour before they closed and managed to snag some of their cookies and croissants to take back home. For a place that pretends to be Paris I was surprised a croissant was plopped on a plate with no butter or jam. Coffee and tea cups filled too high and spill as staff places on table. Can't lift the cup without burning your knuckles. Invest in new mugs! Raspberry tarts was good. Won't be back. read more

So many friends have heard of this restaurant but haven't been for dinner. I was one of them. Make a reservation! Everything, from the stunning architectural space and thoughtful, exquisite interior design, to the tableware, food and presentation, put this among the best restaurants in the Hudson Valley. The service was friendly, and we enjoyed meeting the family behind the restaurant--warm and engaging. This is one of the most elegant spaces I've seen in my 25 years of being a weekender and now resident of the area. The food, however, really put Banque on my favorites list. There was a wonderful, seasonal selection of dishes: something for everyone at my table (pescatarians, vegetarians, carnivores and omnivores). And I really appreciated the effort that went into plating and presentation. It was very well done. And the food was as delicious as it was beautiful. Flavors and textures married well. My only complaint is thst I am not able to eat more. The pastries and chocolates will have to be explored another time, but there will definitely be many more visits if this time was an indication of what can be expected read more

Location and ambiance are 10/10 at Banque, but their pastries and coffee are just okay and definitely overpriced. Service was also okay, a very nice older gentleman helped us but took a very long time to serve the pastries and ice cream we ordered. The lemon meringue was delicious, hot chocolate was really bitter, It was beautiful inside, doesn't really look like anything on the outside. I thought it was a bank. I also got french fries and those were really good, they also had a selection of beautiful chocolates. Our waitress was really nice. We came at a weird time in between dinner and lunch, but I would be interested in coming back and trying their dinner because the menu looked really good! read more

Don't wait for a special occasion to enjoy BANQUE. The architecture and ambiance will transport you to a European city. All the servers smile at you from the first greeting to the last. My husband and I had a starter of naan with hummus, kale chips and micro-greens. That could have been a delicious meal by itself. My husband had strip steak with enormous roasted potatoes and root vegetables. It was cooked to perfection but could have had more spice. I had salmon on a bed of mushroom/potatoes, leek which was also cooked to perfection but could have used a little more kick to it. Dessert? We shared delicious gelato and took home a box of homemade bonbons. (We selected from a wide variety of flavors). Although they are too pretty to eat, I guarantee we will be sampling them soon. My wife and I went for dinner Saturday night and we had a Wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere makes it easy to be there. High Ceilings and Open space. The seats are not piled in on top of eachother and you don't feel rushed to finish quickly so they can turn the table. We had the salad, shared the scallop special and a burger/fries and it was the perfect meal. Don't miss the bread basket and olive oil tostart and the pastry desert to finish . From start to finish, we loved our meal at Banque. After talking with one of the owners, we discovered they spent over 4 years renovating this former bank into a spectacular restaurant with great attention to detail and gorgeous finishes. Their pastries are all made on site. Our entrees were delicious, but the highlight was the flourless chocolate cake. What a show stopper! My husband and I split one, and couldn't even finish it because it was a very large portion. Also, my latte was delicious, and had a design that made it truly special. I had the French onion soup and half sandwich combo which were both vegetarian. Perfect for a rainy day, both were flavorful and had a good portion. also indulged in pistachio croissant, lemon meringue croissant, and the strawberry shortcake croissant. All three were phenomenal. We took a road trip to Hudson NY from CT to walk around and visit the shops since it was a nice day and we by chance poked our head into Banque( a renovated old bank with authentic vault) . We were initially blown away with the beauty of the restaurant. High paneled white ceilings, large modern globe fixtures and hand painted flowered panels graced the walls. The dark blue banquettes with white piping were very elegant and comfortable. But that was just what drew us in. There was a long curved marble counter along the right wall with incredible croissants, pastries, chocolates, gelatos, and colorful bon bons of all flavors. We immediately decided to make an early dinner reservation. While girls shopped, the guys sat at the bar in the back of the room and had an enjoyable conversation with our bartender, Reed, an aspiring conductor studying at Bard Conservatory who made us some pretty delicious cocktails and brought the guys some toasted crostini with infused oil. When it was time for dinner, girls chose the special pasta of the evening and the guys had steak frite. Dian and her husband Tom, the owners, were hands on and told us all about the history of the restaurant. Tom brought over complimentary wine of our choice We were all very pleased with our dinners. On to dessert..roasted pistachio gelato, vanilla caramel and butterscotch bon bons and an apple cream tart. Dian came back over as we finished our meal and offered us dark chocolate orange rinds. Owners and staff were all so warm and welcoming. It was truly a complete all around special dining experience. I wish we lived closer!!! Today I visited Banque for lunch. The wait staff were friendly and efficient! The restaurant is stunning with a relaxed comfortable atmosphere. The food was outstanding!! We enjoyed vegetable soup, a grilled sandwich on homemade focaccia bread and vegetable ratatouille! We later discovered that Chef James Rafferty is onboard, so don't hesitate to go in, you won't be disappointed! We first enjoyed Chef Rafferty's food in NYC and are delighted he is in Hudson. We took home delicious chocolate croissants which were excellent! The owner Arden Fuchs makes chocolates that are as beautiful as they are delicious! Can't wait to go back to dinner! read more

We had a fantastic experience at Banque last night with another couple. Excellent and creative food with many options for both the carnivores and vegetarians in our group, unbelievable house-made chocolates for dessert, and at the end of the evening as the restaurant was closing, when Diane checkef in on us and we asked her about building out the bank space into a stunning restaurant venue, she took us on a personal tour of the amazing kitchen and chocolate making facility and the rest of the building. Absolutely phenomenal dining experience at Banque! My friends and I were planning to have to have dinner at another restaurant in town that had a waitlist, so while we were waiting for our reservation we wandered into Banque because we'd heard about the delicious chocolates. Well, we were absolutely in awe when we walked in and ended up staying for dinner. The ambiance and design is so beautiful. The quality of food and incredible flavors of each dish we ordered has left me dreaming about the next time I'll be back. If you like fish, definitely try the salmon - perfection . The burger was also amazing. Everyone on staff was so kind and the owner's family came to talk with our table ensuring we had everything we needed - we ended up having a great conversation and loved learning about the history of the building. It felt like we stepped into a restaurant in another country - wherever you live in NY, Banque is worth the trip for a beautiful evening and dinner out. I haven't even mentioned the desserts but my gosh - the chocolates, ice creams, and sorbet are OUT OF THIS WORLD. We were treated to lunch earlier this afternoon at Banque. The interior is beautiful, airy and relaxing. That's the good part. The bad: 1. Our waiter spilled water on the table and was not happy to be asked to return & clean it up. He was pleasant enough afterwards, but in a restaurant that has spent a small fortune on the decor and is charging top dollar for food, one would think the waiter would immediately clean up any mess -by him/her or the customer- ASAP, without being asked and without attitude. 2. The food was disappointing. My husband and I both got the egg & gruyere sandwich, which cost $12. We expected more than a patty of scrambled eggs on a buttered roll that didn't appear to have any cheese (couldn't taste nor see any) and frankly, wasn't much better than the egg sandwich on a roll that I've eaten at Steward's for $3.99 rather than $12.00, plus tax & tip. The pastries were beautiful, but so expensive that we decided not to order any. So two stars for the beautiful surroundings & ambiance.
