As another review mentioned, ever since the pandemic began in 2020 this place is no longer open, with the exception that you can pre-order a meal to pick up (to go only), and that being on Saturdays only. It's too bad since Chatham is a very small village (Main St is only one block long) and this is a PRIME spot for a nice cafe or restaurant to be serving our community. It used to be a busy cafe open for business, now it's still there but always closed, for FOUR YEARS now. I guess covid killed their mojo. read more

Kicked out for ordering coffee. We live upstate because we like the pace, the friendliness, and the sense of community. We invest heavily into our local restaurants, events, and love to see it thrive! We were really looking forward to having coffee at this establishment. However we found the service very disappointing. Usually employees are at least interested in providing assistance to customers but today that was not the case. In fact , the employees today were quite rude. We had breakfast sandwich one on biscuit, one on a roll, both great. Corn scone to top it off was crusty and flavorful. Enjoyed everything so much got two quiches to take home. Came with nice salad. BEST QUICHE EVER. Also got some biscuits for next AM so nicely packed with little square of butter and little cup of jam. First class. Guy behind the counter in this small place was attentive. Everything here was quite delicious! I feel like it was a little on the pricey side though, especially to not have table service. The Savories, not surprisingly, were unbelievably delicious although the sweets were definitely lacking (in offerings, I cannot speak to quality as there was nothing to tempt me). Best brunch I've had in a long time. Perfect, well-brewed coffee, strawberry lemonade made with real strawberry purée and lemon juice, delicious quiche with perfect flaky crust and crisp greens, rhubarb coffee cake to die for. The owners at Ben Gable Savories, Michael and Ben, have done EVERYTHING right at this wonderful new breakfast and lunch place in Chatham. It has fast become the favorite eatery for me and my wife (and so many others) - in our favorite town! The 3rd addition, Cynthia, in the kitchen takes this venue to the next level, both in personality and cuisine. The service is always wonderful - welcoming and positive. The creativity of the dishes, combination of ingredients, incorporation of fresh, local produce, and wonderfully original menu all beckon us in every chance we get. Locals warned Ben and Michael that there might be parking issues at this location, but they are proving everyone wrong. It just goes to show that when you go out of your way to prepare unbelievably fresh, savory food - customers will come - and come, they do!! What a treat it is too see this new bustle at outside tables on the traffic circle. This was a most memorable and lovely stop in our way back to RI. The atmosphere was friendly and attractive as well as comfortable and clean. Stopped by on a snowy day with a friend for their quiche and was blown away. We had one spinach and one cauliflower and both were to die for. The ambiance is very warm and welcoming and the Stumptown coffee and my friends oolong tea were perfect accompaniments. We even took some quiche for home after our lunch. I brought my kids here on the way to the supermarket for ac quick breakfast. I had an amazing ham and Gruyere quiche and my kids each had a piece if olive oil lemon blueberry cake. Everything was wonderful but it would be great if the breakfast menu had more selections. Although my kids enjoyed their breakfast it is definitely not kid friendly. The food here is absolutely delicious but you have to spend a fortune ordering the entire menu in order to not go home hungry. Neither the space nor the menu is kid friendly. The best strategy here is to stop by for a snack or to meet a friend for a cup of coffee/tea rather than planning to have a full meal here. read more
