I'm going to call it. Mighty Donuts is my favorite donut shop...ever. I loved it so much that I asked my husband to drive us here twice. Once, on our way out of the city for our Upstate getaway then a second time heading back home. The flavors were unreal. Even something as pedestrian as a strawberry sprinkles donut tasted award-winning. This was one of my favorite bites, and that's surprising coming from someone who really orders it. In fact, the last time I got that donut was probably when I was a child. Unlike most shops, the frosting was, indeed, strawberry flavored and not just some bullshit icing with pink dye. They also offered novel combinations, like coconut lychee and a pecan donut that had the most complex profile: sweet, smokey, with a slight funk. I've never tasted anything like it. The flavors strangely worked well together. The brown butter donut was the pièce de résistance. It was wonderfully sweet and salty, reminiscent of a butterscotch square. I felt greedy, wanting to buy a box to take home. I didn't, and now I wonder - did I make a mistake? Should I have listened to my basest desires? A good donut and a decent coffee. Mighty Donut is an ideal meetup spot. It offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, for both groups and the digital nomad. Plenty of outlets to keep your device charged. The staff is friendly and welcoming. On my first visit, the stars of the show were the Breakfast Handpie and the Mighty Breakfast Sandwich. Both are tasty breakfast options. I look forward to trying some of the lunch options on my next visit. read more

Oh my I'm very impressed with the breakfast burrito and salsa. Having lived in San Diego for 25 years, I'm a burrito snob. This was the BEST breakfast burrito I've had ever in NY. I'm pretty sure it was a homemade tortilla as it had none of that preservative taste that I hate. I added bacon and ate it when I got home about 25 minutes away. I will definitely stop again when I'm down in that area. Also loved the homemade salsa. Also, I got a pumpkin cheesecake donut, but I'm still full... So that's for later. read more

The food: Hot apple cider 2.5 out 5 Donuts 4 out of 5 The pumpkin cake count with cream cheese frosting fell flat. However, the yeast raised donuts are where it's at! Yes, the donuts are on the little pricy side but one of Dunkin' Donuts 14,000 global franchises is a stone throw away from this place so if its too rich for your blood there's another game in town ....so stop your belly aching. I have to start off with the fact that the yeast donuts were the fluffiest I've ever had, and I enjoyed that immensely. The prices were steep. I'm not from this area, but I had great donuts in small town MA a couple of days ago for significantly less. I'm thinking being close-ish to NYC is a factor in the prices. To add to that, the person who took our order gave us our donuts and walked away before we finished paying but we needed help getting a receipt. They never came back and we never got a receipt. It's fun to have some unique flavors, but every donut shop should have a classic chocolate raised donut (that isn't gluten-free). Shop is comfy, not too noisy, and the bathrooms are cute! read more

This particular part of the Catskills seems to be their main village making Mighty Donuts an important part of that Village. However I find myself be a little bit of a donut snob and these were just not the ones for me. I would say that they have really funky flavors, Artisan if you would. So if you're looking for something different like a Black cherry or Rose Or Strawberry lemonade, then give it a go. The flavors that I got seem to be a bit more on the harder denser side cake type of donut. Where I prefer more doughy and soft type. They were also quite expensive. read more

We tried this place out. Not sure if it's because the doughnuts are "yeasty" but we found them to be a bit heavy. We prefer doughnuts that are lighter and airy, so not really our style. Got a Cafe au lait and it was very disappointing, it had very little steamed milk (which is the whole point of the drink). It's supposed to be half coffee and half milk, so not sure if they just got the order wrong or if they don't know how to make it (we didn't check it until we got home, at that point it was too late). The place is super cute and modern, but honestly I care more about the taste of the food /drinks, so had to give this a 3 * rating based on that. read more

Did Red Hook need bougie donuts?? YES, they did!!! Mighty Donuts is fun and upscale, without being pretentious. Coffee is delicious. There are many sweet and savory options.. something for everyone. I had breakfast hand pie with flaky crust and yummy egg potato filling. I sampled the mint raspberry and lemon rosemary donuts (interesting) and took home Boston creme and strawberry rhubarb donut for dessert. Looking forward to it. Staff is super nice of course. My partner is from LA saiid Might Donuts feels like "Sidecar Donuts" inside. It sort of does, although Sidecar has a horseshoe shaped layout. MD has a veryexpansive space and kind of gives off multi-location aesthetics. As for the donuts: the yeast donuts are a bit too dense and springy, as if they are a bit overworked or from proofing methods. We had the citrus curd, cherry rosé and the cinnamon wheel. The cinnamon wheel was definitely the most enjoyable (B grade). Was a bit more fluffy and delicate (seems like it was proofed different from the donuts). The glazes and filling of the donuts were nice, although tbe filling is a bit scant, IMO. The ratio may also seem dough heavy because of the density of the base. read more

Pure perfection! Just had a lovely breakfast here and every bite was absolutely beyond words delicious. It's so nice to give a new establishment 5 stars! I wish I could give you more stars. I saw this place last week as I drove by headed to my dentist appointment and I knew I had to check it out. I tried the cinnamon swirl and it was divine! So I had to come back with my husband and try the breakfast offerings and some other yummy treats. We got 2 vanilla glazed since that's our usual go to favorites and one cinnamon sugar and one brown butter. I took a bit of each one before I realized I should take a photo. Glazed is my all time favorite. They were all winners but nothing beats a glazed. The brown butter is gorgeous, rich and decadent. The cinnamon sugar is simple and exactly how I thought it would taste. They didn't have the cinnamon swirl today. I would have gotten that instead of the cinnamon sugar. Also had a latte and it was smooth and perfectly balanced in flavor. We split the breakfast burrito and it was large enough to share. I didn't realize you can add onion, peppers and beans for a small fee. However, it was still mouth watering delicious. It came with two sauces. One red and one green. Both were perfection. I am thrilled we have a new local spot. I can't wait to return and try some of their other breakfast sandwiches that I must say looked visually appealing as I watched them being served to the tables nearby. I asked some of the folks how were the sandwiches and they all gave a thumbs up. Beautifully crafted sandwiches and donuts. The place is brand new, just opened up in March. It's lovely, spacious, clean. Service is fine. It's order at the counter. They did forget to make our latte and so we had to back up to the register and ask them. But it's a new business and it's a very busy Sunday weekend. These things happen. Congratulations to the owners. A fine establishment and I can tell it will be a new favorite for many. read more

It is worth the 45 minute drive from Poughkeepsie. They are the freshest donuts in the area by far, we are especially looking forward to them adding more flavors as time goes on. The place is super nice looking and the staff seems to be really doing a great job too. read more
