Remember: they do refills (for a charge) on coffee (used to, at least), the ice creams are solid and each place has 3 tables to chill! Although you were washing floors near the product, when you saw me head towards the wrong register (which would have been closer for the employee to ring it up on) (it was just a 2L Pepsi bottle), you communicated your intentions and performed to your best. I thank you. For being so close and open when I needed you, you shone in my darkest light. I know I don't walk into your particular store very often, but it was necessary. I still don't like your entry and exit points onto both Delaware Avenue and Broadway (there's no lighting onto Broadway) and it seems very confusing at this intersection due to the crisscrossing of yet a third road from a location nearby. I actually don't like this corner: cars coming from the 'Strand come up Broadway too quickly there and it can get interesting navigating. However, you shone your light at the entrance with LCD brightness that really provided me assurance that I'd be safe inside for a few minutes getting the necessary item. But eh whatever. Never had pumpernickel so that was interesting. They also got a variety of schmears. There's a lot of seats inside so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Parking is quarters only so be mindful of that. We happened to come on a holiday, where we didn't have to worry about it and found out then and there this area is coin parking all around.

In fact, the last time I got that donut was probably when I was a child. Unlike most shops, the frosting was, indeed, strawberry flavored and not just some bullshit icing with pink dye. They also offered novel combinations, like coconut lychee and a pecan donut that had the most complex profile: sweet, smokey, with a slight funk. I've never tasted anything like it. The flavors strangely worked well together. The brown butter donut was the pièce de résistance. It was wonderfully sweet and salty, reminiscent of a butterscotch square. I felt greedy, wanting to buy a box to take home. I didn't, and now I wonder - did I make a mistake? Should I have listened to my basest desires? Might Donuts gave me something to long for.

Sometimes the coffee is perfect, other times it's too hot or too cold. If the line has been long, my coffee always has a burnt taste from non-stop espresso pulls. Their cold slushy drinks are ok. They are the equivalent of a coffee coolatta from DD. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I just wish they had a better order taking system at the drive thru. If the weather isn't great, the employees sometimes don't come out to take your order quickly, if at all. Sometimes you have to wait to get to the window, which is painfully slow. I love that they are a local company, tho.

Now I reviewed this particular chain before out in Middletown New York and it wasn't a very nice one, and unfortunately this one isn't that great either. My main concern/ complaint is the lack of windshield washer fluid at the pumps. I've even gotten a hold of corporate in the past and they said they were on top of it however I've been to this particular location two nights in a row now and since about a week and a half ago at least if there's no washer fluid.... Well actually no I stand corrected there is actually washer fluid in the reservoirs tonight, however there's only two squeegees to go around four different sets of pumps. I will attach a picture of one of the squeegees to this review as it is the most ugly, decrepid looking piece of equipment I've ever tried to use to wash my window. Not sure exactly what anyone thinks a person is supposed to do with this thing but yeah My other observation... Well actually let me go back to the coffee and cookies and once again say that they are phenomenal. I hate being all negative when there are positive aspects. But as I was just saying, my other observation is the garbage around the pump areas and the cigarette butts in the parking lot as you walk up to the door. Coincidentally I'm at the same gas pump tonight as I was last night and the same garbage /paper cups are in the same places that they were yesterday. Someone took the garbage out because they were overflowing yesterday but nobody picked up the trash around the pump. Nobody has swept cigarette butts and quite a while or at least I'm guessing because judging by the number on the ground either it's been a while or there was a group of about 45 people smoking cigarettes all at the same time. So anyway, I'm actually going to stop at a couple other locations later including the one in Middletown that I reviewed earlier just out of curiosity to see if their washer fluid situation has changed any. The corporate office said that they were on top of it however who knows maybe it takes a couple weeks for word to get down the corporate ladder to the managers of the stores to get stuff done.
