I've been going to Dun-well for years. The PB&J is my absolute favorite from here. It's the best jelly I have ever had in a doughnut. The staff is always super friendly and patient. The chocolate glaze is sweet and pretty good! The dough is light and fluffy but bland/odd tasting. It reminds me a bit of the protein donuts from Doughbar Donuts. Plain Glaze Yeast donut with plain glaze (only on the top). The glaze has a bit of a strange taste. I'd definitely pick the chocolate glaze over plain glaze, but I think Cinnamon Snail has Dunwell beat on vegan donuts in terms of dough (theirs is denser, but more buttery and flavorful). This is my go to spot anytime I'm craving a doughnut. They always have a great variety of unique and traditional flavors. Last doughnut I had was the orange pienapple, its was fantastic. They are always fresh and delicious. They also have a nice variety of teas and coffees and ice cream. The Matcha latte is always my favorite. The space is a good size & I always manage to get a seat. They have your typical selection of donuts from chocolate, glaze, sprinkles, strawberry, maple to donuts with fruity pebbles and PB&J filled donuts. The taste and price are very affordable! I came here on a Thursday morning and their donut case was fully stocked with over 15+ flavors. I got the Boston Cream, glaze boys, spiced apple cheesecake, maple French toast and the maple glazed. I couldn't wait to stuff my face with them because they all looked and sounded so tasty. Unfortunately, they weren't all that great. Their donuts were just meh. I've had vegan doughnuts at many places around the country and these donuts rank on the lower end compared to the ones I've had at other places. The donuts here have a fluffy texture and are pretty light. I don't feel stuffed and heavy after eating a couple donuts as I typically do. I was okay with the texture, it's the flavors I was disappointed with. Here is my review of the donuts I had: Boston Cream: didn't taste the way a Boston cream should taste. I expected a custard filling, but instead got something that resembled chocolate pudding which wasn't bad, but definitely not what I'd call a Boston cream donut. I was disappointed since this is typically my favorite donut. Glazed boys: your typical glazed donut. It was just meh. Nothing great or horrible about it. Maple Glazed: I think this was my favorite. It had a tasty maple glaze. Maple French toast: just meh Spiced Apple cheesecake : this one sounded good, but ended up being awful. It tasted like some kind of cleaning product, I have no idea what they used to flavor it. I didn't taste the spiced apple or the cheesecake. This was the only donut we couldn't finished. It ended up in the trash. Thankfully the prices of the donuts are pretty cheap. I believe they were under $3 for each donut which is the cheapest I've ever bought a vegan donut, however, the donuts are smaller than ones I typically get elsewhere. Overall, an ok donut place. A friend of ours has been ordering Dun-Well every other days for 3 or 4 orders straight. After judging them for their lack of self-control, we decided to place an order as well. Call first thing in the morning to get the low down on the day's flavors. Place your order on DoorDash as early as possible (we ordered at 10am and seems like all the flavors were still available - called around 2:30/3 another day and they were no longer taking DoorDash orders and were out of most flavors). You can request flavors in your order but it's subject to availability of course. So far, have tried the strawberry sprinkle and it was delicious of me to rush to write a review instead of waiting to try all the donuts first. Dun-Well Doughnuts and I have been off/on for years... The first time I visited their BK location I ordered their strawberry sprinkled doughnut with its bright pink frosting and oh so many sprinkles. It was good! And I could hardly tell that it was different from any other donuts I'd ever had (read: vegan). The next couple visits were kinda 'eh.' The selection wasn't great and I was stuck with a couple varieties that just didn't do it for me. I thought our relationship might have ended there but something kept pulling me back (read: doughnuts are my favorite and I don't think I could ever really leave them). And then last week I happened to be nearby and figured I'd give the place one more try before formally breaking it off. But this time DW had the one doughnut that was on my list that I just hadn't had the opportunity to try: the peanut butter & jelly doughnut. This PB+J doughnut is a game changer. Ohmygosh. Dun-Well is an absolute gem. I come here at least once biweekly and sometimes more. These are some of the best donuts in Brooklyn and you'd never know they were vegan. I wanted to give a lower grade because I went on a Saturday and the line was over 30 minutes long with only one person making coffee, and serving doughnuts.
