We stayed for hours enjoying the ambience until the live music ended roughly around 2 AM The only downside was that a group of incredibly drunk adults decided it was OK to not only dance right in front of the stage, thereby blocking the view of patrons who are sitting at the tables and those of us sitting at the bar, but also several times tried to jump up on stage to either join in the performance or cozy up to the performers. We understand having a good time, but don't be rude and inconsiderate of others, especially when you're not a good dancer just an obviously drunk one. (Kudos by the way to the performers on their deft handling of completely soused customers). Highly recommend!

When we got there, just after the start around eight P.M. we were the only people in the joint but by the end it was hopping and Joshua the amazing pianist continued to play and sing past 11 P.M without any break! The bartender was attentive, but not aggressive, which was lovely. If I were a Denver local, I would be in here all the time!

A special night out with incredible live jazz…read more I've lived in Colorado for 4 years and can't believe it took me this long to experience Nocturne. I went on a Friday night with my mom I'd just gotten my hair done and wanted to do something fun, a little fancy, and different from the usual dinner spot. It absolutely delivered. First: parking in RiNo is rough. Plan ahead. My reservation was at 8:30 PM and I arrived almost 45 minutes early just looping the area. Eventually found street parking but give yourself time so you're not stressed walking in. The exterior is beautiful mural artwork, elegant entrance, very polished. Once inside, you're greeted, there's coat check and the entire space feels intimate and elevated without being stuffy. It's romantic but not pretentious. I'd go here for a date, a birthday, or just to treat someone special. We did the three-course prix fixe experience (around $150 per person, 25% gratuity included -- that's required for reservations). It felt worth it for the full experience. Food highlights: * I tried the steak tartare for the first time. raw beef and egg, served in a crispy potato nest. Very outside my comfort zone, but beautifully presented and well executed. * My mom had the grilled octopus and loved it. * For entrées, I ordered the Branzino (10/10) and she had the duck she raved about it. * The risotto was slightly underdone but not enough to ruin the dish. * Dessert was a passionfruit tarte. very tart and tangy (true to its name!). * For my birthday, they surprised us with a vanilla dessert that was honestly incredible. Also worth mentioning: their non-alcoholic options are phenomenal. I had the "Kitten Heels" mocktail (10/10), and their non-alcoholic rosé genuinely tasted like the real thing. As someone who appreciates thoughtful zero-proof options, this stood out. The live music was the star of the night. The performers were incredibly talented! the vocals, the breath control, the instrumentation! it felt immersive. The only thing I'll say is the crowd was a little low-energy. My mom and I were the only ones really moving in our seats, tapping along, enjoying it visibly. I wanted more people to feel it! Overall, this is a beautiful spot for live jazz, elevated dining, and a romantic or celebratory night out. If you love cultural, artsy experiences and live music, this is absolutely worth it. I'll definitely be back.

Date night done right -- if you know where to look…read more Dazzle has been on my radar for a while, and finally going with my husband for a show did not disappoint. Tucked inside the Denver Performing Arts Complex at 1080 14th Street, the space has a jazzy, intimate feel that somehow still delivers impressive surround sound for live music. For a room that seats around 140, the acoustics are genuinely good -- the kind that make you lean in and actually listen. The performance itself was well DAZZLING, FANTASTIC, MEMORABLE, POWERUL, and the layout of the space contributes to that. Dazzle is a serious listening room, and they ask that you keep conversation minimal during the music -- which I appreciated. It sets a tone. This isn't background noise; it's the main event. A note on the food and drink: there's a two-item minimum per person, which I understand and respect. Tickets support the artists; the minimum supports the venue. That said, we ordered the charcuterie board and I'll be honest -- for what was on the board, the price felt a little steep. Wouldn't order it again. What did win me over, unexpectedly, was the hot tea selection. I don't drink much, and having a beautiful, thoughtfully curated tea menu was a small but memorable touch. I'm already thinking about what I'll try at our next show. Dazzle is a great pick for date nights, jazz lovers, or anyone who wants a real night out in Denver -- not just dinner and a movie. With 60 to 70 shows a month across jazz, blues, R&B, and more , there's always a reason to go back.

The cheesy grits? Comfort food perfection. Waffles made to order? Yes, please. It's the kind of menu that makes everyone at the table feel like they won brunch. And then... the music. Alex Trujillo's Bossa Duo set the vibe just right -- smooth, breezy, sophisticated without being stuffy. It felt like we'd stumbled into a little pocket of Rio in Denver. Super chill, easy conversation, toe-tapping in your seat energy. Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming...the kind where you never have to flag anyone down but also don't feel rushed. If you're looking for a brunch that feels elevated but still relaxed (and delicious across the board), Dazzle absolutely delivers. We'll be back!

What a great spot that I didn't have pop up on any of my searches…read more This was my 2nd trip working remote from Denver. Last time, in preparation this time, I searched great bars and restaurants of all kinds. Maybe I never searched piano bar this time. We were at one spot hen the bartender recommended Charlie Browns. I was surprised that was a place called that, so we had to go. We popped in and sure enough, It was Charlie Brown's. And there was a guy just starting a set on piano. we got a couple spots on the bar. There was a big game on and the Oscars were starting, but our luck, they had both on the couple TV's they had. We had a great time, excellent classic nice bar vibes. I took food to go, a brat and side. It was plenty good, and I should, the service was great too. The bartender felt short a 2nd person, she was busting her tail. The piano was just ok, but I will be back next time, to see how things are.

Charlie Brown's feels like a time capsule, and I mean that as a compliment. It's the kind of place…read morewhere you can walk in once and still get treated like you belong. This place is old-school in the best way: wood, regulars, and actual personality...like it never got the memo that everything has to be a concept. I've been twice and the service is the reason I'll keep rooting for this place. Thursday night I hung out at the bar with a friend and Amber treated us like we'd been coming in for a decade. First visit, zero awkwardness. She even remembered me when I left on my second visit, which sounds small, but in 2026 that's basically a love language. Food is classic diner comfort with a "something for everyone" menu, burritos to prime rib, and the portions are generous. Thursday I got the gyro plate. It starts with a huge Greek salad (sadly with a thick and gelatinous industrial Italian dressing) and then a plate of gyro meat, pita, and full-on diner mashed potatoes and gravy. Comfort level: high. Only problem: the gyro was absolutely buried under onions. I like onions, I'm Greek, but this was "did an onion truck overturn back there?" Sunday was a Broncos game day with a group of friends and our server kept us taken care of the whole game. I had the chicken fajitas skillet for brunch. This was a mountain of hash browns layered with oregano-y flavored chicken and veggies, topped with two over-easy eggs. Honestly...delicious. One of our group ordered what I call "the Golden Food Group": the fried-brown sampler situation (mushrooms, chicken, poppers, the whole delicious brown universe). He was happy and there was plenty to pass around. Now for the part where I need Charlie Brown's to listen up: the smoke. It's coming in from the enclosed patio (plastic + sliding doors), and every time someone opens that door the cigarette smoke rolls through the restaurant like a smothering London fog. It's not a faint whiff. It's a full takeover. I asked about it and basically got "we're balancing the [chain-smoking] regulars with everyone else." I get loyalty. But this isn't a balance, it's a hostage negotiation. Also: the men's bathroom is outdated, unheated, smelly, and feels dirty. That's an easy fix compared to the smoke, but it matters. I want to give Charlie Browns a higher rating because the people are great and the vibe is authentic. But the smoke situation drags everything down. Fix that, and you've got a true Denver classic that can keep dishing out diner style comfort food for many more years.
