My wife and I visited for the first time last night during their dog friendly show, which was also a benefit to help save a pup! I've never been to a dog friendly comedy club before but it makes it even better! Comics were all quality we couldn't stop laughing and will definitely be back!

We enjoyed the show....the headliner handled some late comers that sat in front texting duririg his set....the sushi was great!

Sake flights!!

So much fun watching comedy with sake flights and sushi! The comedians were great. Definitely recommend.

Zero. That's my rating. Yellowtail good. Comedy was not even comedy. Most awful excuse for comedy. Great yellowtail.

Ask the Community - Denver Comedy Lounge

Can you buy tickets at the door instead of online?

Yes you can, however they occasionally sell out. So far I've been lucky. Never made a reservation. Always come for drinks and sushi and occasionally buy a ticket while there

We sampled the honey bee sake from Colorado Sake Co and it was also really delish.

We both started with the White Chocolate Espresso Martini. Highly recommend that one! It was made with Pearl Vanilla Bean Vodka, Irish cream, coffee liqueur and a chocolate drizzle in the glass. Our second beverage we both got the Spicy Margarita. This was served on the rocks with 21Seeds Cucumber Jalapeno Blanco, Cointreau, lime juice, sweet and sour with a Tajin rim. I think I would have liked this more if it had not been as cucumber forward. It tasted more like an extract than actual cucumber. Noted for another time. Our server was pleasant and took great care of us. At the end of the show we waited a few minutes for the initial crowding to calm and were able to head out through the back, get our phones out of their pouches and be on our way.

You'll see everyone from the local living in their Subaru to actual legends who've been on Netflix. The ticket price is worth it, and the two-item minimum is actually fair; unlike my last dating app subscription. Had a great Friday night at the Denver Improv!…read more The cocktails were on point, the appetizers were tasty, and the whole vibe of the place just makes for a fun night out. We came to see Bill Bellamy--absolutely hilarious--and the warm-up comedians were great too. No slow moments, just nonstop laughs. All around, just a really fun experience. Definitely one of those nights you leave thinking, "yeah, we need to do that again soon." Highly recommend!

WARNING: Do not eat here! The food is terrible and the…read moreservice was horrible. I arrived an hour and 20 minutes early to get a good seat only to find out they seat you. That's fine, but as others have commented, the staff automatically gets tipped 18% and there is a two drink or two item minimum. My advice is to eat somewhere else (there are plenty of options in walking distance) and then get the two drink items. Our server never even came by to check on the food. She even walked away when my friend was still ordering. And then they forgot to add something to my order and I asked her about it and she said it didn't come with it. I looked at the menu and it did. I ended up having to get another server to get it. The lady never came by to clear our table. In actuality, no one came by to clear it from dirty plates and I had to flag people down to get it cleared. So if you're reading this, do your self a favor and get food at a real restaurant and then go to the show. Don't expect much from the service or food and just go for the comedy. If I go back, I'll probably just get two waters and call it.

It's a dive bar. It's a comedy stage. It's a music powerhouse. What is Lion's Lair, if not iconic?!…read more If you're looking for a place that's all heart, loud and proud, it is HERE. Anybody who's come out of Colorado to become a big name has gone through those doors to play on the little stage. From local to traveling acts, from punk bands and karaoke talent to gritty stand-up and flirty burlesque, this place has it. If you're up for a night that doesn't stink of ordinary, swing through that creaky door and take in a most memorable evening. If there is a cover, it's usually nominal. Drinks are cheap, served by a great crew that's always up for a laugh and cheers. Sometimes hitting the town isn't about getting fancy but just kicking back, and this is a great place to do just that off the mainstream treads.

The interior is small but I like how the bar is set up kind of in a rectangle so you're actually facing some other people (maybe awkward, but feels more communal?) They had an inexpensive menu of basic beers. They were out of the drink I wanted so the bartender made me a creation that I guess is something the doorman likes - not bad, and I think it was about $10 which is pretty decent for a mixed drink. I noticed a big red counter/clock on the wall across from us and after a few seconds we deduced it was a decibel meter. I'm curious if they have restrictions here for noise - AOK by me. The volume was generally alright (a little loud but what isn't?) and they actually had a sound guy in the corner making sure the volume and quality sounded good. Overall had a very decent Saturday night here.

Walking up to the place, there were 2 older white guys who were comics or workers? They were smoking their cigs just staring with the weirdest, meanest looks. I was tempted to turn around and head back to my car. I'm glad I decided to ignore them and go in. I think the employee's name is Jack? He's a young, white guy and was already superbly friendly to the couple in front of me. When I went up to the ticket counter, super confused and anxious, he made the whole experience beyond wholesome. He turned my entire day around. It's crazy how a stranger can do that. Thank you!

Their policy for cell phones and smart watches where you need to put them in a sealed security bag is kind of a pain, but I'm guessing there's good reason for it. We might just leave everything at home or in the car next time. There is a two item minimum for each person, but we ended up with three each. My wife had two glasses of the house cab and one Butter Baby Java, which is a hot coffee drink with butterscotch schnapps and other stuff too. I had a house manhattan, which was ok, a Butter Baby Java, and one of the other coffee drinks...showed up as Coffee Tail on the receipt, but the name had more to it than that. That one was my favorite. Next time, I might just stick with that. All in all, fun night. Convenient to get to and home from, about as good service and drinks as you could expect, and funny comedians. Guessing we'll be back next time someone we like is in town.
