I came with my daughter to see Kevin Smith and Jay Mewes. The entry experience was quite smooth. We picked up our wrist bands at the window, then headed down for ID check and the phone pouches. It is nice to unplug and pay attention. They do have a two item minimum per person. We both started with the White Chocolate Espresso Martini. Highly recommend that one! It was made with Pearl Vanilla Bean Vodka, Irish cream, coffee liqueur and a chocolate drizzle in the glass. Our second beverage we both got the Spicy Margarita. This was served on the rocks with 21Seeds Cucumber Jalapeno Blanco, Cointreau, lime juice, sweet and sour with a Tajin rim. I think I would have liked this more if it had not been as cucumber forward. It tasted more like an extract than actual cucumber. Noted for another time. Our server was pleasant and took great care of us. At the end of the show we waited a few minutes for the initial crowding to calm and were able to head out through the back, get our phones out of their pouches and be on our way. read more

Cool venue. I like how the venue concaves in to focus on the performer even more. 2hrs of very solid comedy for $35. Martinis are very good. While I didn't agree with all the politics of the performers they didn't make their political opinion their entire act. Oh and the seats have cup holders. That said, without tables I think it feels a lil more compact inside than some comedy venues. Great service. They'll even do the Alamo thing where they crouch when taking your order.I don't think it's necessary but I appreciate the extra touch A super nice touch - an opener that gave a sh*t. As I like to check out comedy clubs in different cities, it was my first time here at the Larimer Square location. I would have taken more pics but they required us to lock up our phones in yondr pouches. I still managed to take a few before and after the show :) I got tickets to see Jay Jurden and he was hilarious! I really appreciated his sense of humor and how he delivered his jokes. The food and service were both great. I got fries with their queso sauce, which was yummy. Inside it was pretty straightforward where the bathrooms and seats were. I'm also attending another show while in town at their Landmark location, and look forward to more laughter therapy. read more

I've been to dozens of comedy clubs of all sizes all over the country and I've got to say, this place confuses me. Multiple ID checks phones being locked up I can be ok with. What is highly confusing is the management of space. It is way too tight in there. In addition to being on top of one another there is "table top" service with a 2 item minimum with NO TABLES. This is very clearly a recipe for disaster and that's exactly what happened. I bought VIP tickets months before the show because the featured comedian was on my list of people I want to see and my trip to Denver lined up perfectly with the show. Beginning comic started off strong enough and I got my 2 items for myself and my girlfriend and 5 minutes into the into hosts bit the server attempted to take my girlfriend's empty tray, dropped it which caused my girlfriend to jump and spill my untouched drink all over my lap and coat. I was immediately taken out of the moment and frustrated with the whole venue set up. We immediately left. When speaking to management we were met with condescending attitudes and no effort to make this right. Just a "I'm sorry you did not enjoy your experience." Which made me even more upset. We closed our bill waited to have our phones unlocked and left so I could go to my hotel and change. It ruined our evening and my experience in the Denver area. Do not recommend. There are so many better comedy clubs out there that treat you much better and do not have this unreasonable conditions. read more

Came for new talent night- show was alright The Feature ($17) was okay. Chicken tenders didn't have flavor. Fries were cold. Mozzarella sticks were good. ... They forgot my brownie ice cream sundae yet again. It was 30 min before the show ended and I had to ask my server where my sundae was. Again. Also it wasn't as good as I remember. Brownie tasted like grocery store brownie. Perhaps I was delusional in the past when I thought it was tasty. Prob wouldn't get again. read more

Great comedians, mediocre food, decent service. It's a pretty well oiled machine but I wasn't a huge fan of my cell phone being required to be put in "phone jail" with no explanation as to why. Also if you order food and drinks there's pretty much no place to put them. You get to hold the food in your lap which is...awkward. Show up for the comedians, don't expect much else. read more

The show we went to go see was hilarious, but this venue made the experience worse on every level. * The seats were incredibly uncomfortable. They know they have people coming to sit in one place for over an hour and the seats are small, metal and have little space between the ones in front and on either side. I am about as small of an adult as an adult can be and my arm constantly bumped my neighbor. * Since the seats aren't staggered at all, if you have someone in front of you (and the show we went to was completely sold out), your view will be blocked. We even showed up right at opening and still got placed halfway to the back for some reason, even though we were two 5' people. They put some very tall people in front of us (which wouldn't not be such a problem if the venue was actually designed for an audience) * We were told that due to filming we weren't allowed to speak or even whisper to ourselves between jokes because the camera might pick it up. That's 100% understandable except the staff interrupted our viewing several times and barely whispered. They'd stand in front of us to collect dishes, tapped our shoulders and pulled us away from the show, and overall made the viewing experience less pleasant * The food was actually awful. I ordered a $15+ quesadilla and one of the triangles didn't have any cheese at all. It was the saddest quesadilla I've ever seen. There is a 2-item minimum per person (I did hear you can order water instead though) and I have no problem supporting the venue - we even didn't eat in advance so we could get something there - but the quality of the food was actually insulting, especially if we're forced to buy it. The drinks were also pricey at $9 for a mocktail and $15+ for a cocktail. Overall I wouldn't be so unhappy if not for the fact that this is all this venue does. It hosts a 1-2hr show, on a stage, every night usually two. The stage should be viewable from all the seats. The seats should not be painful. My shoulders should not touch a strangers. The mandatory food and drink should be better. It's unfortunate that I will not be returning at all because if not for the venue it would have been a nice night. read more

Just got back from a show there tonight. Oh boy. I thought the Comedy Works Greenwood Village was tight, but this place is a nightmare. The space is tiny and they have folks sardined knee to knee (imagine an airplane) There is no AC, but some sort of swamp cooler is desperately trying to cool the space. We ordered food before the show started and got it about 15 minutes from the end of the performances, over an hour later. The food is overpriced garbage and the drinks are a rip off. I'm a big fan of comedians, but this venue is a hard pass going forward. A $200+ lesson learned tonight. read more

One of the worst venues I have been to in Denver. The place is incredibly cramped with way more seating than they should have in this venue. The service was genuinely bad and they were incredibly inefficient about how they got people in and out of the venue. (A result of cramming far too many people into the space). The food and drink was gross and overpriced too. I am used to things being pretty pricey in Denver, but I have gotten better food at at a high school baseball concessions stand and better "cocktails" from a can. I really enjoyed the random chunks of freezer ice in my ice cream. Their two item minimum is highway robbery. I'll cry a little bit every time I see a good comedian is coming here, but it is simply not worth it to come back. It's a shame to see a venue so focused on lining its pockets instead of actually providing a good experience. read more

Love this venue! It's small and intimate which makes you feel close to the performers and you can actually see the stage. They require a 2 item minimum pp which is a little bit of a bummer but the drinks and desserts we ordered tasted good at least. There is a small tray between the seats to put drinks, however, it is not big enough to use for food. read more

Pretty nice venue for watching a comedy show with tons of seating. It was so dang cold in there though I was freezing and hoping that the added bodies inside would warm the place up (plus having drinks) but it felt like they then turned the air on even colder -- burrr!!! I'll remember to dress much warmer next time. The random things we have to think about... My friend and I shared a bottle of wine since it was only $38 so splitting it seemed like a better deal. It does count as 4 drinks each to meet the standard comedy club two drink minimum. The drink prices are to be expected, on the pricier side, some beer/wine/cocktail options which mixers are maybe the worst value. They will seal your phones, FYI. It goes into a locked pouch and you hang into the pouch. They must have had some major issues in the past, I guess! Those annoying folks who gotta ruin it for everyone. But, it really wasn't too big of a deal and I can understand they're just trying to put in a good show without disruptions. They also said if you needed your phone you can get it unlocked when you go out into the hallway. I'd come checkout a show again sometime! The show itself with Che Durena was a decent one with awesome openers. The show itself gets 4 stars! The venue and management is where things fall on its face. Below are a few things I would like to mention: - Mandatory 2 Item Purchase Policy It is mandatory, and enforced, to purchase 2 items when viewing a show there. I personally did not have an issue purchasing 2+ drinks but the couple next to us was asked over and over again to purchase more items throughout the show. It was distracting and unpleasant. I would think that raising ticket prices and not forcing people to buy drinks and food would be more logical. - Packed Seating The chairs are very, very close together throughout the venue. I would consider myself a slimmer individual but I had to scrunch myself to fit between the two people next to me. I understand that management wants to fit as many people there as possible but I would recommend them trying to sit in those chairs with people by them. - Mandatory Phone and Smartwatch Pouch Upon entering or outside while waiting in line, employees will have everyone put their phones and smartphones in a locked pouch which will be held by the owner during the show. I did not have too much of a problem with this but if you are someone that likes to have the option of checking their phone or expecting an important call, this venue may not be for you. Was the comedy awesome? Absolutely. Pete Holmes on his final evening. But that was the comic and had nothing to do with the venue. They have a system where, prior to entering the showroom, you need to place your phone, any smart watch, etc. in a bag that only they can open, which is done at the end of the show after you exit. Phone I've heard of, though had not yet experienced. No idea why the watch goes, too. No one could explain it. My belief is this has less to do with recording the comics (which I haven't seen anyone do at other venues), and more with not letting anyone see how miserable the venue is. The chairs are small, metal-backed with a rough seat. Incredibly uncomfortable. You are packed next to one another like sardines. Between every two chairs is a horizontal metal plate with two holes to hold drinks. Maybe 5" wide to the front and 3" wide to the back. There are food menus, but no place to put the food. Our server suggested using the metal plate. THERE'S NO ROOM!! The drinks were uninspired. And the drinks you order at the front bar before entry do not count towards the 2-item minimum in the showroom. In the showroom we ordered a sundae, among other things, which was accidentally flipped over by our server onto the metal plate on arrival. Minimal splattering on us, but a huge sticky mess on the metal plate and edges of our seats. Our server was very flustered and apologetic, yet took what seemed forever to bring us a handful of small, square paper napkins, and we were left to clean things ourselves. He told us he'd bring a second sundae and wouldn't charge us for it. Really??? Like we'd be charged for two sundaes when only one was edible? Someone across from us broke a glass. Probably missed when they tried to place it in one of the plate holes. Yet within 10 seconds there was an official looking lady who arrived, speaking into her walkie, and moments later there was someone with a broom and dustpan to clean up the glass. Would've been wonderful to have had that attention. Instead we dealt with a sticky mess. I should've broken a glass. No need to return. read more

We stumbled upon this venue 30 mins before the next show and there were tickets available on a Friday night. We didn't know the comic but were in downtown looking for something to do and it was cold out so here we are. I cannot imagine that this venue is anything other than a fire hazard waiting for an epic emergency. First, you're guided downstairs, stopped at a desk with your phone and watch locked in a bag before shown to your seat through a winding hallway, down into a low-ceiling basement, crammed into seats hip to hip with a couple hundred ppl. If there is any real emergency, there are no cellphones available to call for help, too many ppl for the space, and it's dark. There is a small drink holder between you and the next person but no place to stage your food order. The best value on the menu for the required two drink minimum is the beer and shot combo for $9. Now you have two drinks to manage with your food and no place to put it. Good news is there is legroom so ppl can get up and wait staff can make it through the crowd/rows. The show had an intro, opener and the headliner. At the end of the show, you queue at the table to get your phone bag unlocked so getting out is a lengthy process. Do not go here if claustrophobic. Climbing back up the stairs, I let out the breath I didn't realize I was holding. Good show. Poor venue. read more

I had a blast FINALLY coming here with some friends. We got to see the very hilarious Nicole Byers perform. They're like clockwork here, checking tickets and putting electronic devices and protective pockets so no one could record the show. Quick service. Great food and beverage options. I read the email ahead of time, so was able to pre-purchase parking at the garage they recommended which was affordable and efficient. The seating was super cramped and uncomfortable which make the experience less pleasant. They have a two item minimum per person, but ordering food is awkward because you have to hold your food. The nachos were super disappointing and overpriced, maybe I should've ordered a dessert instead? The comedy itself was great, and overall I still enjoyed the show. The talent, staff and venue were great. No complaints there - I just had a big issue with how the venue was ran. Each guest is required to spend a two-item minimum (which is pretty standard for comedy shows and I have no problem with). My issue was that there's no menu provided in advance to ascertain how much you'll be spending in that minimum AND when I got my check I signed off on about $80 (for two titos sodas and two glasses of cheap white wine, kinda crazy) and was charged $105? I understand paying that much for a specialty cocktail but $105 for two vodka sodas and two glasses of wine is INSANE. Will not be returning simply for that. The venue should do better to support these comedians. Sushi hai does comedy on Thursdays with great local talent. I got a fantastic sushi meal and drinks for four people under $105. As a raving fan of all things comedy I wish I could give Comedy Works MORE than 5 stars! This establishment is a true gem! Yep, you are packed in like sardines and they don't let you use your phone...but the shows are EPIC! Even new talent night slays! They get the best of the best in this delightfully dark, basement comedy club. Most of the big names I've seen there say it's one of their favorite spots to do stand up. On a Monday night saw Thick Skin comedy show. Glad I got tickets early because the show was sold out. This show is once a month and is so funny. The crowd was packed and laughing the whole night. It's a once a month show and so much better than new talent night. Mike Stanley and Matt Cobos are so quick witted as hosts and deliver all night long with jokes on the comedians and crowd. Came to see a comedian with my husband last month. Aside from the tech lockup, and the awful tiny assigned seats, this venue was truly horrible. You're led to these cramped rows with tiny seats, and tiny "tables" in between your seats. The servers are constantly walking back and forth, and crouching in front of you. I spent more time moving my feet for servers to pass by than I did paying attention. My husband and I don't drink, and we're on a diet. We didn't know this place has a two-item minimum PER PERSON when buying our tickets. We couldn't eat anything on their menu, or drink anything either. We even both brought our reusable water bottles (which they said we could fill up inside) but they wouldn't let us watch the show unless we bought two water bottles each (bc it was literally the only thing we could have). I know this isn't the servers policy but we were so mad during the entire opener and a half that we ever bought tickets here in the first place. Oh but good news, the four waters all came at once, and they were already warm Let's circle back to the beginning, where do you think you store 6 water bottles at a seat with one cup holder (two, if no one uses their arm rests). That's right, YOU PUT THEM ON THE FLOOR! And then you dont have room for your own feet because servers still have to pass right in front of you every three minutes. ive had my eye on this room for awhile, big names plow through here often. i love the sound, the small stage, and the fact that the staff and establishment is super organized, but where this review lost 2 stars is the actual set up of the chairs. they are incredibly uncomfortable, too tight, and permentally installed to the ground. you sit side by side, no tables, and are basically on top of eachother. i highly suggest you dont add food to your order, because you wont have a place to eat them on. we ordered just drinks, but were still pretty crowded. they cram too many people into this room for sure. read more

They had experienced technical difficulties the evening we went, so we started over half hour late, by giving the entire audience admit 2 free tickets to a future show. After realizing I purchased my tickets from a third party and was massively overcharged, they did everything they could in order for me to ensure my refund was processed by writing a letter regarding the situation and by providing more free passes.
