I have been a customer and fan of this Duck Donuts location for a few years now, as well as worked here during my college years. The work environment was always super positive and welcoming, and that is not only due to the hardworking employees who always go above and beyond, but the previous owners being so appreciative of the work that their employees put in. The previous owners made sure that their employees felt valued, and put all of their time into the establishment. Disappointment does not even begin to describe how I felt witnessing what occurred at this store today. I stopped in to visit a good friend/previous coworker during her shift. Instead, I overheard the new owner verbally abuse and reiterate his newfound "leadership" to my friend and another employee. From an outside perspective, all I saw was a frail man's ego being damaged at the thought of his employees stepping up in areas that he, himself lacks. He then repeatedly told his employees to walk out. We can hope that this behavior and display of power is due to being in a new leadership role, but if it is not corrected this new ownership will cost this establishment the employee/community respect that it's previous owners worked so hard to gain. Choices, again! Not my strongest feat but I did manage to come home with a dozen, wait, a basket (18) delicious donuts of different kinds. The donuts taste very cakey, rather than dense like Supermarket, or Dunkin's variations. Staff is friendly and helpful. There's a platform where kids can observe the creation of their choice. I really really love their donuts. They are so fresh that they are still warm from the fryer, and the donut itself is so moist and fluffy. Tried the Van Oreo one and it was probably hands down the best donut I've ever had in my life. You have the option to of ordering a donut from the customer favorite list or construct your own starting from the base, then building up to the glaze and toppings. Their breakfast sandwich options can also be served with donuts instead of the traditional choice of bread. So unique. Thanks for the great donuts. I picked up a large online order and only half was there when they called it, but since I didn't place the order, I assumed it was all there, since my number was called. When I got home, we noticed half the order was missing. I called the store and asked for the manager and the lady on the phone said she was the owner. I got halfway through my story and she immediately cut me off to tell me I was wrong. She offered no apology or a refund or anything, but instead kept telling me her staff didn't mess anything up and I was not telling the truth. I will never go back to this store again. read more

Duck Donuts came into town like a fire storm, they were packed from opening to closing. Now it's 2 months later, crowds are a lot less, so why not give them a try, it's 4pm and we are headed home so we stop in to Duck Donuts, there are a couple families sitting at the tables and one ahead of us in line, the staff was friendly and informational, including that the dough that is crisply cake batter. We filled out our order form, I ordered 1 glazed donut and one with with cinnamon and sugar topped with coconut. I waited about 4 hours to eat them, I wanted to be hungry for them, so I poured a glass of milk. I tried the glazed donut first, a typical glazed donut is my favorite, one should be large and light and fluffy, with a thin layer of glaze all over, but duck donuts are heavy and the glaze was saturated into the dough so my description would be heavy wet and mushy. The cinnamon sugar and coconut donut was once again heavy and wet, you could not taste the cinnamon and all the coconut had fallen off, with a spoon to scrape up the coconut I ate it, on a scale of 1 to 10 wit 10 being best I would give Duck Donuts a 1, my friends gave Duck Donuts a 3, give me Maple Donuts or even Giants or Weis any day My friends or I will not return to Duck Donuts. read more

I was working at the med center and was heading home for a cinco de Mayo celebration and thought... hmm maybe a dozen "churro" and "margarita" donuts would be a fun addition. (Cinnamon sugar and key lime glaze). I know how busy this place can be on a Saturday and I went online to see if they have online ordering and *gasp* they did! You could create your own dozen or order preconfigured ones. Since I wanted my creation I picked mine and chose the time to pick up. When I arrived I was greeted by the hustle and bustle of a Saturday crowd and the smell of those yummy donuts. I saw a long line and the donut makers were flying through making all of these donuts to order. I went to the online pick up area and told them I was here. They immediately grabbed my dozen and went to work. They were so proficient and fast it was amazing to watch. I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. Boy did my car smell good and the donuts were a hit with the family. Simple and delicious! There is nothing like a fresh, hot and customized donut made to order. The staff were friendly and patient (ordering with 2 kids can be an event). My little ones enjoyed customizing their donuts using the fun checklist and mini pencils. Then we moved ion tho watch the little drops of heaven fall from the hopper into a waiting bath of hot oil and sail down the way to be cooled and dressed in delectable toppings.
