Reeser's is the best! Have been coming here for years and will keep coming back. Some of the best ice cream in the area. It's absolutely worth the drive out! Great service and plenty of space for kids to run around. The food AND ice cream menu is huge here! They have specialty flavors different weeks throughout the year, so check the schedule. Highly recommend the Artic Swirl - you can customize it and fill it with whatever you like! Note: The line does get very long, especially after dinner hours, but it's worth the wait and usually goes down fast. read more

A family favorite for decades! We have watched children and grandchildren roll down the hill has we savored wonderful creamy concoctions. My personal favorites are the berry flavors but based on the menu the crowd favorite is peanut butter! Dozens of flavor and topping combinations. We all wait for late July when peach sundaes come - they buy local peaches and only serve till they are gone. You snooze you lose! From of house staff is always exceptional and efficient. While we go for ice cream they serve plenty of lunches and dinners out the window. The parking lot is full of the trades at lunch time. read more

While the line moves slow the Ice Cream Is worth the wait . Sundays are made in plastic cups they are huge! This is an Old Style place with outside eating! They do have some fast food items if you're looking for a lighter meal! The most comfortable seating is in your car! read more

Fresh peach sundaes are in!!! Always long lines at Reeser's but if you like soft serve, this is the place for you. I like a denser less airy soft serve but I was excited for fresh peaches. The hubs got the peach milkshake and he enjoyed it. The small sundae was more than enough for me but I did finish all the peaches. There's a couple long tables to sit at or you can just eat in your car or on the tailgate. They take cash or card. read more

It has been some time since we stopped by Reeser's--I think we were coming back from a tubing trip--so we were all hot and in good spirits from the days adventures. We saw a sign for ice cream--smashed the brakes and whipped the Honda Pilot into the parking lot. We were thrilled by what we found--the sundaes(?) were creative and I recall lots of fresh fruit. We love walk up ice cream spots like this... will return if we are in the area. read more

Love going to Reeser's! I have been going there for many years. My favorite is the pork bbq and great French fries. I've also had their burgers and hotdogs. Which are awesome. I recently changed it up and had the grilled ham and Swiss on a pretzel roll. Very good! The soft ice cream is the best!! My favorite is the peanut butter. Love sitting at the picnic tables. You can start up conversations with other people. The owner is Super Nice!! He has good quality food. Just a great overall experience!!! read more

This is an update to my prior review of this business. During this time of quarantine my favorite ice cream shop is closed so I can't get my favorite peanut butter flavor. At least, I can't get it at the ice cream shop location, I was delighted to discover that Reeser's Soft Ice Cream has a retail agreement with the Karnes at Newbury Commons...ONLY at this location. So, during this time while comfort food is so very important, I drove out of my way by 30 minutes for my weekly shop for groceries and essentials, and was able to stock up on some of my favorite flavors. I now have peanut butter, raspberry, vanilla and chocolate. The small batch made flavors at the grocery store also are in rotation so keeping an eye on the business Facebook page was useful. Random note: combining a bowl of Reeser's PB soft ice cream with big broken sourdough pretzels is heavenly read more

This was my first time here, prior to this I had never heard of them. The menu is huge! So many hot food options as well as many ice cream options. For hot food we got a cheeseburger sub, hero sub, and a cheeseburger. Everything was very good! Ice cream we got a root beer float, one of their special Sunday's and then peach ice cream to go. Thanks to the yelpers we had to go out of our way to try Reeser's ice cream! It was worth it. It's a local joint close to Ski Roundtop. They offer a quick menu featuring soft ice cream, milkshakes & malts, Italian ice, arctic swirls & a variety of sandwiches priced from $1-7.50. They have weekly specials and I was actually looking forward to the peanut butter flavor but it wasn't featured. Bummer. Anyway, one of the special flavors was orange & the server suggested the orange & vanilla swirl, if I liked Dreamsickles. So I tried it and it was very good. My husband got a strawberry sundae with chocolate ice cream & whipped cream. It was very filling. They offer seating on picnic benches. I guess if we can make it back up here from MD, hopefully I will be able to try peanut butter ice cream. read more

Run by Donny Reeser for the past 20 years and his Father before that. This soft ice cream shop/food shop has been a staple of my families eating rituals for many years. Being right down the road from Gifford Pinchot State Park and only a few miles away from the highway this is a great place to finish off a day of hiking/boating/whever you enjoy doing out doors. Every Fri-Sun he makes a different flavor soft ice cream. I highly recommend the Banana which tastes nothing like a banana at all, but more like those orange circus peanuts you get in the candy section. (not kidding, keep that thought in your mind before you lick that ice cream cone). The food he serves is simple, tasty and cheap. He factors in the tax right with the food so everything comes out to a nice round number, well rounded to a quarter anyway. Vanilla, Chocolate, and Mixed are the staples and he has a "Hey what goes in a?" sunday list that has more than 20 different kinds ranging from smores, to blueberry, to peach cobbler. There have been nights I have driven past this place and the line extended all the way to the middle of the parking lot, and when you see just how large his lot is, you'll understand what I am talking about. Quite surprising that with all those people, there aren't any reviews for it here yet. Well I'll change that. Go here for the food, stay for the ice cream, and enjoy the rest of your night. His hours change throughout the year and he does close for the winter season so this isn't a 24/7/365 business, but who wants to be swimming in ice cold weather anyway? read more

Easily one of the best shops around. Prices are great but the service is even better. Always pleasant window conversation and a great small town feel. Staff is professional, yet fun. Peanut Butter ice cream is amazing. Their fresh peach sundaes in August are absolutely amazing and worth the wait in line...If you are in the area I suggest you stop in. Great place to take the family or just grab some ice cream. There is a area where kids can play. There is outside and indoor seating. Staff was friendly and very polite. They were also very welcoming. The overall experience was great. Good tasted great. They have 20 soft serve flavors, 19 hand dipped flavors and a bunch of toppings for you to choose from. Soft ice cream - always have vanilla and chocolate and twist (and sundaes, etc.), then rotate specialty flavors on the weekends. But their ice cream prices have really gone up for 2023 (general food prices remain reasonable). I know a lot of people will continue to support them because the place has been a fixture in the area since the '60s, but unless they have peanut butter, it may not be worth the trip. read more

There's a reason we vote Reeser's as simply the best--and it's not just because of the ice cream (though that is superb). You "simply" will not find better customer service, a more welcoming atmosphere and a greater focus on quality than here. Don and his team do it all right. It's why I've been coming here since I was a child, and why I missed it so much when I lived out of state. read more

When I first moved to this area, this was the only ice cream shop that was recommended to me & the only one so need in my life. During Covid, Karns started carrying their ice cream, bought it monthly just to get my fix LOL. Peanut butter is my favorite but they have great flavors. I have never had a bad experience at Reeser's. My parents took me when I was a child and now my husband and I take our children. The food is always beyond reproach, in fact the ice cream is the best I've ever had. The price is more than what you pay at Dairy Queen or other chain ice cream shops, but this is a family owned and operated business since 1969 and well worth the couple extra bucks. Grab an ice cream and enjoy it at the day use area of Pinchot, right up the road. Definitely a worthwhile stop if you're in the area. Go a weekend they have fresh peach sundaes or peanut butter ice cream and you won't regret it! read more

They're right, the peanut butter soft serve is yummmmmmmmmy!!! There was a super long line, but it went fast. The menu is quite extensive, and very cheap! This is a great place for a Sunday snack after a BBQ! I haven't tried any of the sandwiches, but would try a BLT for such a cheap price! Great little out of the way place! A nice find! read more

In the area and craving ice cream lead us to Reeser's! The line was a bit long when we got there (and was longer when we left) but it moved quickly. I decided to order the strawberry shortcake and my wife ordered the root beer float. Both were excellent choices and for GREAT prices. We paid $7.75 for both and the portions were large! The place was easy to find, had ample seating, and great service. If we are ever back in the area, we are stopping here for our ice cream cravings! read more

I'm a local to the area, and I can say that hands-down, Reeser's is the best soft-serve in the area. The machines are serviced regularly to make sure the product is smooth and creamy. The flavor changes each weekend, so there's constantly a good variety. The service is pretty quick, and the ice cream is AMAZING! Excellent ice cream, but the sundaes are terrible. Ordered a raspberry sundae thinking it'd be raspberry ice cream - it wasn't. it was vanilla ice cream with cheap nasty tasting raspberry flavored syrup. Overall, the ice cream itself is addicting. And their fresh peach sundaes are great. I haven't really tried anything else on the menu but i read that they have their own version of DQ's Blizzards. If you are around Harrisburg or York, you must try Reesers. read more

a couple of weeks ago, I asked my daughter if she would like ice cream and she said yes (We live in Silver Spring township). About 15 minutes into the drive she inquired why we were going so far for ice cream. That day, the soft serve was raspberry. We each ordered small raspberry sundaes with chocolate and the price was less than 10.00. Plus, it was really good! That is why I drove so far for ice cream. read more

Reeser's Soft Ice Cream was founded by Donald & Harriet Reeser with the assistance of Larry Moore in 1969 on a shoestring budget. Through the 70s and early 80s the ice cream shop developed a strong local following and began to grow by leaps and bounds. Donald Jr. took over the operation in 1991 and has expanded the business with new flavors, sandwiches and sundaes. Reeser's Ice Cream received the prestigious Best Ice Cream in York/Perry/Adams County award from PennLive/Patriot News in 2012.

I've driven by Joy's a million times and somehow never noticed it before. It's tucked into a busy strip mall and easy to miss if you're not specifically looking for it. Spoiler alert: you should be looking for it. My quest for the evening included both a burger and a chili dog, because they both looked amazing and I wanted the full Joy's experience. My adventure buddy and I arrived around 5pm and I was honestly surprised to see only one other person inside when we walked in. We grabbed a booth by the front door and looked over the menu again to finalize our plan. Since it was our first visit, we decided to order a few things and split them so we could try more. We ordered the loaded chili dog topped with chili, cheese, onions, and mustard ($5.25) and one of the Big Block Burgers -- specifically the Joy's Burger -- which came with grilled onions and mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, LA sauce, Swiss cheese, and fresh cut fries ($12.99). Naturally we added bacon for an extra $0.99 because that felt like the right decision. We also each grabbed a Diet Pepsi (to maintain some illusion of balance) for $2.50 each. Our total came to $25.69 before tip, which felt like a pretty solid deal for a two-person Friday night dinner adventure. The setup at Joy's has a classic old-school diner feel. The grill sits right behind the seating counter so you can watch your food being made, and they mix milkshakes right out front as well. The place is simple and no-frills -- and in my experience, those "keep it simple and do it well" places are often the real heavy hitters. The chili dog came out first, and the first thing I noticed was that this thing was HEAVY. This wasn't your typical skinny hot dog -- it was a full ¼-pound dog absolutely loaded with chili. The flavor reminded me of a Cincinnati-style chili dog and it was really good. The chili was flavorful instead of just decorative, the mustard and onions were balanced perfectly, and the bun did its job without getting in the way. As someone who takes chili dogs very seriously, I have to give Joy's credit for delivering a straightforward, perfectly executed chili dog. Next came the burger and fresh cut fries, and when I say this burger was big, I mean BIG. Two patties tall with all the toppings stacked high. We sliced it in half and immediately dug in. The bacon was perfectly crisp, the mushrooms and Swiss were generous, and the whole thing just tasted like a real, proper burger. Not a chain burger that started life frozen and tastes like it could have been reheated in my microwave at home. This was the kind of burger you picture when you say you're craving a burger. The fries were exactly what you want from fresh-cut fries -- the smaller ones nice and crispy, and the bigger ones crispy on the outside with that soft, fluffy inside. Splitting the chili dog and burger turned out to be the right call. It would have been easy to eat everything solo, but my stomach probably would not have forgiven me later. Our server was super friendly and attentive throughout the visit. While we were there, a few more people came in to eat, but overall it felt relaxed and easy for a Friday evening. Parking is free since Joy's sits in a strip mall, but it can be a little tight because there are several other popular businesses nearby. We were able to find a spot without trouble, but I could see it getting tricky during busier times. If you're looking for solid burgers, legit chili dogs, and an old-school diner vibe, Joy's Grill & Burger House is absolutely worth seeking out -- especially if you're like me and always on the lookout for your next great burger or chili dog adventure.

Mrbeast is a unique concept restaurant - it's usually delivery only (though some offer pickup) and is often a "ghost" kitchen - a to-go restaurant inside of another restaurant. I know, confusing, don't worry, not important. The menu is limited to burgers, a couple of chicken tender sandwiches, a lone grilled cheese, crinkle fries and bottled sodas. I ordered two Beast style burgers , one Chandler style burger and fries all around. I scheduled our order ahead of time and had it in my hand right on time. The burgers were fresh and hot. The fries were hot but soggy due to the condensation in the box they were packaged in. The beast burger is two smash patties, ketchup, mayo, brown mustard, raw onion, pickles and cheese. The chandler is pretty basic - two burgers and American cheese. You can add a variety of sauces and toppings for an upcharge. (Ketchup was 30 cents - I pulled the bottle out of the fridge for free). The burgers were large, fresh and juicy, the cheese melted perfectly and the toppings added in just the right amount. They really were delicious. The fries, like I said, were soggy. Maybe different packaging could solve this problem. Either way, three fries were too much for three people. You already know that when you order Uber Eats, you are going to pay a premium when you consider delivery, fees and tip. Ordering delivery directly from the Mrbeast website was actually a little higher still. When everything was done, our dinner was over $50 - quite a lot for a burger and fries. But then, not dragging my 80+ year old parents, with her walker and his cane, out to a restaurant is almost priceless. Dad is pretty savvy with technology, I'm confident he will now start ordering out all of the time. I may have created a beast!

For whatever reason, this was finally the night. I pulled into the parking lot around 7:30 p.m. and was pleasantly surprised to find plenty of parking, even on a beautiful summer evening. There were lots of people enjoying ice cream, but almost no line inside, which my stomach appreciated immensely. I quickly realized a cone or a bowl wasn't going to cut it. This needed to be a sundae. One of the things I love about King Kone is that many of their sundaes have fun jungle-themed names. After spending a few minutes studying the menu, I settled on the Elephant's Delight, which came to about $10.50. When I placed my order, I looked at the gentleman behind the counter and said, "It's been a long week. Can you take a couple extra minutes and put some good vibes into that sundae for me?" Without missing a beat, he smiled and said..."Absolutely." A few minutes later, he made eye contact across the room and handed me what can only be described as a bowl of ice cream the size of my head. I completely lost my composure. Right there, in the middle of a busy ice cream shop, I audibly squealed and told him, "You are making my dreams come true right now!" I wasn't exaggerating! And I think every person inside King Kone Creamery that night was aware of my excitement. Absolutely no regrets! The sundae was absolutely enormous, piled high with whipped cream, crowned with a perfect cherry and loaded with enough peanut buttery goodness to make my approximately 63.8% peanut butter personality feel completely understood. I carried my masterpiece outside and found a picnic table overlooking the beautiful property behind the shop. It was the perfect place to slow down, enjoy the evening and devote the next half hour of my life entirely to that sundae. The ice cream was fantastic. The toppings were incredibly generous, and I especially appreciated that everything was served in a large bowl instead of a tiny cup that would've had me wearing half of it before I finished. Every bite felt like the reward for surviving a very long week. King Kone turned out to be one of those places that's been hiding in plain sight all these years. Great ice cream, friendly people, generous portions and exactly the kind of place you hope an old-school neighborhood ice cream stand will be.
