Very cute ice cream shop. Definitely hits the spot on a warm day. You can get just about any type of cone or a dish. Tons of different toppings to choose from. They also have ice cream for your pup. Very decent size ice cream cakes. A cute little children's corner with books and board games. Out front they have a bunch of yard games and large chairs for fun pictures. Very friendly staff. The ice cream here is absolutely delicious! The milkshake was so thick that I had to eat it with a spoon (which is a good thing, in my opinion!). The ice cream is very creamy and definitely tastes homemade. The only reason for four stars is that they need more employees working there--there was one employee and a long line. The girl working there did a lovely job, but the owner should have at least two people working at once, for when multiple parties show up at the same time. It would've been nice to get in and out a bit quicker. Other than that, I'd absolutely return and I'd suggest you all give Sarah's Creamery a try! read more

Like most ice cream shops they have several sizes and a choice of cone or cup. Because it was winter any sort of outdoor seating was unavailable. There are tables inside however. The counter girl was very nice, patient and helpful. We had a larger order and everything came out correctly. Ice cream is given in good portions and they have a variety of flavors to choose from. The seating outside has picnic tables, which are placed on wood beams to be sure they are even. Lots of cute picture opps too. This is by far my favorite ice cream destination. Nothing beats Penn State ice cream and I really like the huge topping bar where I can make my sundae just the way I like it. Sarah's Creamery is the quintessential small town ice cream shop. The flavors are delicious, well labeled, and diverse (I usually have the Birthday Cake flavor). The Penn State theme is both cute and cohesive: the ice cream is made at Penn State and flavors such as Peachy Paterno and WPSU Coffee Break reflect this. Their concept of serving ice cream is a mix between Baskin Robbins and frozen yogurt: you pick your flavor, your size, and your container (sugar/waffle/pretzel cone, cup, etc.) among the 32 hard ice creams, then you add your favorite toppings at the toppings bar, which include homemade brownies, cookies, hot fudge, and fresh fruit. Prices are calculated by weight and loyalty cards reward frequent flyers with free ice cream after 10 purchases. The restaurant is extremely clean and very friendly, especially for families and groups, and patrons are welcome to enjoy their ice cream on the patio outside the store, even in colder months (there are also outdoor heaters), or to stick around for a game of corn hole on the lawn. They also host events and local band performances throughout the year. The staff is extremely helpful, kind, and patient. They even host ice cream parties for kids where you can learn how the ice cream is made. My only hangup with this place is the location. It's tough to enjoy ice cream next to a noisy, high-traffic road. Also, some of the picnic tables are dispersed throughout the parking lot on small patches of lawn, which makes it feel like you're in the middle of all the parking chaos. The Creamery also shares a parking lot with a couple of other businesses so it can be a bit hectic. However, none of this outweighs the deliciousness and welcomeness of Sarah's Creamery; definitely worth it. TL;DR: Delicious ice cream, tons of flavors and toppings, and welcoming staff make this my favorite local ice cream shop. read more
