Copper Crust Co. was the lunch stop for a late-May Saturday Girls Day Out adventure, and what a find this turned out to be! My adventure buddy and I were headed to York and looking for somewhere new, different, and delicious to grab lunch. After a little online reconnaissance, Copper Crust Co. landed firmly at the top of the list. The menu looked fantastic...sweet treats, sandwiches, quiche, baked goods, and enough tempting options that narrowing down an order felt like a personal challenge! We arrived around 11:45am and were lucky enough to find a parking spot right out front. We walked inside and immediately discovered that apparently everyone else had also figured out Copper Crust Co. was the place to be. The place was PACKED! Every table was occupied and a long line stretched toward the ordering counter. Fortunately, the line moved quickly. Unfortunately, that meant we had plenty of time to stare at the bakery case while waiting. I suspect this is at least partially intentional. The display of pastries, cakes and sweet treats sits right alongside the ordering line, teasing you every step of the way. By the time I reached the register, I was contemplating lunch, dessert, second dessert, and possibly a bakery box for later. My adventure buddy ordered a classic BLT ($10.69) and a Diet Coke ($1). I decided to branch out with the Spinach, Sundried Tomato & Feta Quiche ($8.99) and a Diet Coke. Total for lunch for two came to $27.58 before tip, which felt completely reasonable. After ordering, we were given a table number and told to grab any available table we could find. This led to the only hiccup of the visit. A sign near the ordering area instructed guests to leave dishes on the tables for staff to clear, but on this particular Saturday the staff simply couldn't keep up with the volume. We eventually found an abandoned table covered with dirty dishes, crumbs, scrambled eggs, bacon remnants, and the previous guests' table marker. Copper Crust was clearly slammed. Honestly, my only suggestion would be to add a guest-accessible bussing station for busy weekends. A spot where customers could scrape plates and stack dishes would probably help tables turn over much faster when the dining room is bursting at the seams. Not wanting to hover awkwardly while waiting for staff, I cleaned the table myself and stacked everything neatly out of the way. Problem solved. A few minutes later, our food arrived and immediately erased any lingering concerns. The mixed greens salad that accompanied our meals was surprisingly excellent. Normally, a pile of just greens (plus two small pieces of pineapple) doesn't do much for me, but whatever light, slightly sweet dressing they use is fantastic! My adventure buddy and I both devoured every last leaf. The BLT featured thick-cut bacon and hearty slices of multigrain bread, both of which earned enthusiastic approval from my adventure buddy. My quiche was outstanding. The spinach, sundried tomatoes, and feta were plentiful, but the real star was the crust. Too many quiches treat the crust as an afterthought. Not this one. Flaky, buttery, substantial, and absolutely worth eating every bite. It was one of the best quiches I've had in quite a while, and I seriously considered getting back in line for another slice. Copper Crust Co. ended up being one of those unexpected gems that makes adventure days so much fun. Great food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and enough bakery goodness to justify a return trip all by itself. Next time I'm in York around breakfast, brunch, or lunch, there's a very good chance you'll find me back in that line staring at the bakery case and making questionable decisions involving dessert before noon. read more

I found this hidden gem when searching for a place to bring my customer's lunch. I didn't want a typical sandwich place and Copper Crust isn't anything typical! From coffees to desserts and treats to breakfast and lunch items, you can't go wrong. I chose a variety of sandwiches salads and pizza. Their chicken salad sandwich is packed full of chicken and comes with a nice side salad. The salads are always fresh and I enjoy that it is a step above an everyday café. You can call in and place your order ahead for lunch early in the morning. It does get busy in there so be prepared to plan ahead or take a look at all their goodies while you're waiting in line. My daughter loves this place! She ordered a Greek salad and a swizz and mushroom burger and I tried the smash cooper cheese burger. We ate inside and while we waited I admired all their baked goods. They all look great! I can not have any so you'll not read any comments on them but from others the cheese cake is great! Then my eyes went to the coffee creamer/utensil credenza and I noticed drips of dried coffee down the side of this credenza. Dust accumulated on crevices of cabinet doors. Our food came to the table and the Greek salad was happy I really loved the dolmas. They were very flavorful and the rice was cooked well! It was all so well balanced with ingredients not too much of anyone thing! Bravo!! I was somewhat disappointed with the fact that I was expecting yellow cooper cheese. It came with white so I got robbed of the annato flavor. The patty was cooked well. I didn't really care for the English muffin. For me it changes the flavor of the . Our coffee, late and veggie breakfast sandwiches on whole wheat bagels were delicious, and so was the little side salad dressing the plate. Seating was pretty full, and the fresh-baked sweet treats were flying off the shelves. I did not realize that table service did not provide utensils, but the self-serve water/condiment bar had some to grab, as well as plenty of napkins. Such a cute little spot perfectly located off 83 and by a hospital. This spot offers a selection of baked items, burger, pizza and quiches! It is a self service spot but there are still plenty of hard working staff who check in with you to make sure you have the best experience! Everyone is very friendly and don't hesitate to ask them if you need anything! We got the quiche, tots, burger, pizza and baked item and I really can't say I have any complaints! The burger was perfectly cooked & interesting choice of using an English muffin but it worked! The quiche was the probably the thickest I had ever seen and not overly salty and I loved the egg to meat ratio. The German pizza was excellent!! Very creamy and paired nicely with the side salad. I can't recall what the pastry was called but started with Paris something and it was so good! Stopped here on a whim looking for a small breakfast bite and walked out with sweets for later! Coffee, a slice of the Mushroom/Feta quiche, a steak and provolone hoagie and Coppers bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. One word, delicious! Place is small, and not a lot of seating, but food is fantastic, staff is nice and the dessert menu is impressive. This place is so cute. The seating area was rather small and there are two tables outside. Consider yourself lucky, if you find available seating. There are two cases filled with assorted, tempting desserts and baked goods. Who am I to refuse a baked good? The hubby and I shared a just made, hot, cinnamon crusted bun. Oooh. Very tasty and the cinnamon, of good quality. For lunch, I opted for a bagel with lox. Their homemade bagel was not too big (I prefer that) and had a wonderful crunch, to it. I'll travel for good food and great customer service, and Copper Crust is worth every mile. I will happily drive over an hour just for their cheesecake--and that says a lot, because I am not a cheesecake fan at all. Until recently, there were only two places I'd even eat cheesecake from. Now, Copper Crust has earned a permanent spot on that short list. Their Caramel Apple Cheesecake is so good it's become my absolute favorite. For context, I'm originally from the heart of New York (my family is from the Bronx and Manhattan), and even there, I never cared for cheesecake. But Copper Crust changed that. Beyond the cheesecake, I also love their sandwiches, especially the bacon, egg & cheese and the BLT (the only two I've tried so far, but both were excellent). I've had their soup twice, and both times it was delicious. Their cookies are a hit in my house too, my daughter devours the chocolate chip and oatmeal before I even get the chance to try one! As for cheesecakes, I've sampled raspberry, mocha, bourbon, and vanilla, but the Caramel Apple is hands-down my favorite. I've also tried their small cakes, which are very good, though I personally scrape off some of the icing (just my preference). The customer service is just as impressive as the food--everyone is always welcoming, and the place is spotless. Honestly, I haven't tried anything I didn't like here. Smash burger was NOT a smash burger and very disappointing. Please name it frozen burger patty on an English muffin. Tots were undercooked (in an oven I'm guessing) and tasted like a freezer - don't waste the extra money, you won't eat them. Mocha cheesecake was very underwhelming. Couldn't taste coffee or a touch of chocolate at all. One note and very disappointing as this place is first and foremost a bakery. If I wanted a plain tasting cheesecake I would have gotten a plain cheesecake. Overall, we may come back for pizza, but the parking may not be worth it. read more

Long time fan here wanting to give a shoutout! Copper Crust is by far the best restaurant in York. Everything on the menu is so fresh and delicious, their team never disappoints. It's evident there's a lot of care that goes into making everything they serve their customers and how the front of house team takes care of the cafe. It's a more intimate space, but that kind of adds to the appeal for me personally. Cute and cozy local spot that is open from 7am - 1pm on Sunday and the early hours are why I chose it. Who is up and ready to eat at 8am except for old people and peeps with kids, like myself! I was sad when I saw no french toast or eggs benny on the menu. Oh well! They also drew me in with their selection of quiches and great looking breakfast sandwiches. I ordered the bacon and egg on the cheddar biscuit. Big ass biscuit. It looks like they cut out a square chunk from a larger bake of the biscuit. My two boys split it and ignored the small green salad it comes with on the side. It's tossed with a balsamic vinaigrette with slices of pineapple and good. They remarked the sandwich was delicious. I went with the ham egg and cheese with avocado sauce and capers on a cheddar biscuit. Also spectacular. Very filling! I had some tough decisions to make when it came to their baked goods. Wowzers. Gotta say this wasn't a great meal. We've always been happy eating here but this time I ordered a pizza. It was not great. Hardly any sauce and the cheese was piddly. Zero pull. It was really so unimpressive and I had heard great things about their pizzas. Totally bummed. And my pastry was stale. The creams had gotten that been-sitting-out-for-hours hardened coating. I was on a serious mood for some homemade bread and so I decided to stop in. I got the pastrami but on rustic bread ( they make it there) as well as the pastrami). To say this sandwich was amazing is an understatement. The bread has the perfect crunch when you bite into it and the pastrami is juicy and tender. Perfect amount of brown mustard and cheesy goodness comes along with the bite. The service was friendly and very informative if you had any questions. Im so disappointed by the service here. We came here for the first time- I have had food delivered from here in the past. I live in Hanover so was excited to take my family to eat and buy a large pizza, get a salad, and buy a few desserts to take home. We got there around 7:30 and were looking at the display case and planning what we want to buy while we stood behind a few people in line. When we got to the cashier at 7:48, she stated they do not make pizzas after 7:45. I had my kids with me, and of course they wont eat anything else. So seeing this, and the poor service we received at our first visit, we decided we would pass on the entire meal. So disappointed by service you get at restaurants these days. Visiting York on business and wanted a non-chain restaurant. This is a gem that I will be sure to frequent as often as my path leads back. When you first walk in the display case of "in house made" bakery items is a visual treat. They use small round pans (maybe 9") to create small cakes, pies and cheese cakes. Had the clam chowder which was the soup of the day. The seafood was fresh and the soup was savory. I also enjoyed the Copper Ruben. A nice pile of pastrami on rye with a melty slice of cheese, sauerkraut and their special sauce. The sandwich was filling and the sauce was tangy. read more

Very disorganized and the person working the register was very rude. Went there with my wife instead of Colonial for the first time in 2 years and they once again failed. They didn't have the cheddar biscuit that was part of there breakfast sandwich (not a big deal) so they made me pick another bread/bagel. I chose a plain bagel but they didn't have one so I then decided on a poppy seed one. Then they they proceeded to charge to 50 cents for the bagel to replace the biscuit they didn't have. This is not about the 50 cents, but just more about the goofy mess of a place this is. Then, once the food comes it's not even the right sandwich and the waiter decided to argue with me about it. Bottom Line: A delicious eatery featuring baked good and one of the best spots in York. You can't go wrong with The Copper Crust! The Copper Crust is a scratch bakery with the most beautiful and delicious baked goods whether it be sweet danishes and cookies or savory quiches and pizzas. For a gourmet breakfast or lunch in York, The Copper Crust is definitely the place to go. They do have some tables inside but I suspect most orders are to go. Whether you dine in or take out, plan to spend some time ooohhing and ahhhhing at the bakery cases. Aside from doing a whole lot of baking on site, The Copper Crust also cures and smokes their salmon, bacon and ham. A few of my favorite menu items are the cheese danish and the turkey and brie sandwich. The first time I visited The Copper Crust they were located in the Central Market House and their popularity was evident by the long lines. In early 2018 they moved to Spring Garden Township across from the hospital which is awesome because with the larger space they were able to expand their menu with even more delicious options.
