There were people selling stuff out of their vehicles scattered around the parking lot. No designated area just hap-hazard and very sketchy looking. We parked and walked inside and right away we noticed that it was dirty EVERYWHERE. There were multiple empty spots where there might have been a vendor at one time. The lighting was terrible, and the place smelled as well. Everything looked outdated and most of the food vendors looked like they hadn't seen a health inspection in months. After a quick walk around the first building we headed back to our vehicle and couldn't get out of the parking lot fast enough! We won't be going back.........EVER!

Parking is not an issue with plenty of spaces. In the back of the complex is the outdoor Flea Market area, which vendors vary on a daily basis. You'll find a little bit of everything, because it's essentially a giant yard sale. In the front of the complex are the sheds, which are literal sheds vendors can lease and sell from. The main complex is three connected buildings with various vendors. Morning Sun Marketplace, unlike some flea markets, has a wide array of dining options. Vendors included video game booths, toy booths, trading card booths, and many others. The selection was rather impressive. All of the buildings were clean and well kept. Our biggest surprise was the booth style collectible and antique center in the middle building. It was full of high-quality items including many retro toys and collectables. If Morning Sun Marketplace is your local flea market, it's a great place to stop in at regularly. We were here in the off season, so we can't speculate on how many produce vendors show up during the months with better weather. Overall, it was worth the visit and I would return.

Even when something wasn't to my taste, I'd come back and try something else--because that's what supporting small businesses looks like. I want local shops to thrive, not get swallowed up by big-box stores. That said, I was genuinely disappointed after seeing Jacquelyn's recent Facebook post. Everyone is entitled to personal opinions, but using a business platform to label people as "dangerous" and "unsafe" simply for having different views isn't community-building--it's divisive, and it's bad for business. Profiling customers and publicly signaling who is "acceptable" to walk through your door is not how you grow or sustain a welcoming business. As a result, I won't be spending my money here anymore, and I won't be recommending it to others. If the energy spent dividing the community were redirected into improving product quality--like making cakes that are actually moist and buttercream that doesn't resemble Play-Doh--it might do more good for the business than turning customers away. Supporting local businesses should feel inclusive, not conditional.

There are also tables in the rear of the store. Jacquelyn was working alone and was most affable and accommodating. We bought a bunch of things, including for later that day and the next. My adventure buddy and I were headed to York and looking for somewhere new, different, and delicious to grab lunch. After a little online reconnaissance, Copper Crust Co. landed firmly at the top of the list. The menu looked fantastic...sweet treats, sandwiches, quiche, baked goods, and enough tempting options that narrowing down an order felt like a personal challenge! We arrived around 11:45am and were lucky enough to find a parking spot right out front. We walked inside and immediately discovered that apparently everyone else had also figured out Copper Crust Co. was the place to be. The place was PACKED! Every table was occupied and a long line stretched toward the ordering counter. Fortunately, the line moved quickly. Unfortunately, that meant we had plenty of time to stare at the bakery case while waiting. I suspect this is at least partially intentional. The display of pastries, cakes and sweet treats sits right alongside the ordering line, teasing you every step of the way. By the time I reached the register, I was contemplating lunch, dessert, second dessert, and possibly a bakery box for later. My adventure buddy ordered a classic BLT ($10.69) and a Diet Coke ($1). I decided to branch out with the Spinach, Sundried Tomato & Feta Quiche ($8.99) and a Diet Coke. Total for lunch for two came to $27.58 before tip, which felt completely reasonable. After ordering, we were given a table number and told to grab any available table we could find. This led to the only hiccup of the visit. A sign near the ordering area instructed guests to leave dishes on the tables for staff to clear, but on this particular Saturday the staff simply couldn't keep up with the volume. We eventually found an abandoned table covered with dirty dishes, crumbs, scrambled eggs, bacon remnants, and the previous guests' table marker. Copper Crust was clearly slammed. Honestly, my only suggestion would be to add a guest-accessible bussing station for busy weekends. A spot where customers could scrape plates and stack dishes would probably help tables turn over much faster when the dining room is bursting at the seams. Not wanting to hover awkwardly while waiting for staff, I cleaned the table myself and stacked everything neatly out of the way. Problem solved. A few minutes later, our food arrived and immediately erased any lingering concerns. The mixed greens salad that accompanied our meals was surprisingly excellent. Normally, a pile of just greens (plus two small pieces of pineapple) doesn't do much for me, but whatever light, slightly sweet dressing they use is fantastic! My adventure buddy and I both devoured every last leaf. The BLT featured thick-cut bacon and hearty slices of multigrain bread, both of which earned enthusiastic approval from my adventure buddy. My quiche was outstanding. The spinach, sundried tomatoes, and feta were plentiful, but the real star was the crust. Too many quiches treat the crust as an afterthought. Not this one. Flaky, buttery, substantial, and absolutely worth eating every bite. It was one of the best quiches I've had in quite a while, and I seriously considered getting back in line for another slice. Copper Crust Co. ended up being one of those unexpected gems that makes adventure days so much fun. Great food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and enough bakery goodness to justify a return trip all by itself. Next time I'm in York around breakfast, brunch, or lunch, there's a very good chance you'll find me back in that line staring at the bakery case and making questionable decisions involving dessert before noon.

I discovered the greatness that is The Robin's Nest at the 2026 Ice & Fire Festival in Harrisburg,…read moreand I'm pretty sure it was fate. After lunch I was wandering around the festival trying to decide on a sweet treat. It was cold, wet, and grey, and my stomach had reached the stage of the day where it was aggressively reminding me that dessert had not yet been consumed. The dessert options at the festival were plentiful, but the moment I passed The Robin's Nest stand the decision was made. This also happens to coincide with what I can only describe as my Whoopie Pie Era, a completely self-appointed personal mission to sample as many whoopie pies as possible in the name of...research. So when I spotted their display of baked goods -- including a whole lineup of whoopie pies -- the gravitational pull toward that stand became unavoidable. And wow...the options! They had everything from whoopie pies to chocolate Easter eggs to breads and cookies. It was honestly difficult to choose what to eat in the moment and even harder not to just buy an entire bag of baked goods to bring home with me. After what felt like an eternity negotiating with my stomach, I finally landed on a S'mores whoopie pie for $2.50. My stomach was still yelling "BUY IT ALL," but I exercised a bit of restraint. I've had a few disappointing whoopie pie experiences lately, so I didn't want to put all my eggs into one nest. (Yes, that pun was absolutely intentional. We are talking about The Robin's Nest, after all.) It was a tough decision because they had 13 different whoopie pie flavors available that day, and the temptation to grab one of each was very real. But I stuck with the S'mores...for now. And candidly -- I was not disappointed. This S'mores whoopie pie was easily one of the best I've had in quite some time, and now I'm kicking myself a little for not grabbing several more while I had the chance. When it comes to whoopie pies, the filling -- the "whoopie," if you will -- is more important to me than the cake -- the "pie" in my world. I want a serious amount of filling. I want it sweet, flavorful, and clearly identifiable as what it claims to be -- not just generic "sweet frosting." The cake should be dense and substantial, and when the whole experience is over, I want to know I actually ate a proper dessert. The Robin's Nest absolutely nailed it! The filling-to-cake ratio was excellent, and the chocolate coating on top was a really nice surprise. Instead of soft frosting that peels off with the wrapper, it was a firm chocolate shell that stayed intact with every bite. The cake itself was dense, moist, and rich -- exactly what a proper whoopie pie should be. Needless to say, my Whoopie Pie Era research continues...and The Robin's Nest has officially secured a very strong position in the rankings. I will absolutely be seeking them out again for more whoopie pies -- and probably several of their other baked goods as well. The only challenge is their lack of online presence, which makes it a little harder to know where they'll pop up next. But honestly, if the end result is another whoopie pie like this one, it might just be worth the drive to Abbottstown, PA to hunt them down...I've definitely done more ridiculous things in pursuit of a really good whoopie pie!

Absolutially, melt in mouth delicious! A friend also bought some dog biscuits for both her dog and mine. From the way my dog ate 1 of her biscuits, it received a 5-paws review. Robin's Nest had many other bakery products at booth: multiple flavored whoppie pies, small cakes and pies and other bakery items. Only regret was going to craft show in exhibit hall last, Robin's Nest booth was on left side as enter hall and at far end. Next time go to any type of "show", I'm going to check out exhibitors list, first. If Robin's Nest is there, stopping by earlier and buying something to get me through day, then back before leaving to restock for home.
