Petting the cows

The ice cream is very good, and the experience is fun! You can buy a tray of food to feed the pigs, chickens, goats and cows. Your shoes may get dirty! But it's worth it.

One of my favorite ice cream stops. Situated on a working dairy farm with plenty of goats, pigs and cows to pet, feed and take pics of. The ice cream is so good. Silky smooth and you can't beat the price. The Destiny Bar also has frozen meat and milk for sale. Staff are super friendly and accommodating.

Talk about a hidden gem in Cumberland county! Destiny Dairy Bar is an awesome local farm where you can get some cow to cone ice cream, flavored milks, and all kinds of beef products at a reasonable price. They pack a LOT into the small building, and the staff was friendly, helpful, and offered lots of helpful suggestions as we were trying to decide. I highly recommend the Milky Way milk - you may doubt it, but it tastes EXACTLY like a Milky Way! In addition to tasty desserts, they have some lovely outdoor seating with checkers, tic tack toe, and a petting zoo with some friendly animals. You can also go into one of their barns and see baby cows and pigs! Highly recommend for families looking for an easy evening at a beautiful and tasty venue!

This place is what every farmer wish they could be! Amy is the owner of this Dairy Bar and it's amazing she allows ...more like WELCOMES the community to interact and watch the milk process being made from cow to container. You can tell she values what she does by the quality of care of the animals and product she shelves! My children love coming to visit and spending time with the cows and pigs! Thanks for your hard work Amy and Crew! We need more farmers like you around!!

The road that ended up being open has a building with the address of 1722 Schwaben Creek Rd, Rebuck, PA 17867, and there were some small signs also posted. Be aware, that this road is a narrow farm lane, so do not bring a vehicle with low clearance. Follow the road and signs until you get to the admission hut and pay to enter. Get the larger bucket of animal feed when you pay to enter, you'll need it for at least the wagon ride. Animals in the Petting Zoo portion included goats, sheep, a baby camel, and a miniature horse. You can feed the ostrich's and peacocks roam around. There are also camel dies for an additional fee. To me the wagon ride was the MVP of the experience and why you need the larger bucket of feed. They take you into the gated areas of the park and stop several times to allow for feeding of the deer, goats, pigs, and big cows. After the ride, it's a short walk to visit the camels and donkeys, which you can also feed. There is also a small picnic area, kids' playground equipment, portable toilets, and hand washing stations available. If you do need to ask any questions, call ahead as they do respond quickly, but don't actively monitor their Facebook messages. Overall, this is a solid outing for kids, families, and people who love animals.

Unfortunately, we had a rude interaction with staff that took away from what could have been an even better experience. The encounter happened in the reptile area, specifically with the staff member handling the baby alligator. He instructed everyone who wanted to pet the alligator not to touch its head or body and to only touch the tail. My 6-year-old son, who was simply curious and genuinely interested in learning, asked why he couldn't touch those areas. Rather than taking the opportunity to educate a curious child, the staff member responded, "Because I said so." As a parent, I found that response disappointing. One of the wonderful things about places like Lake Tobias is that they provide children with an opportunity to learn about animals and nature. A simple explanation such as, "We don't touch those areas because the alligator could become scared or react defensively," would have answered my son's question while turning the moment into a learning experience. While we had a great time overall, I hope management considers providing additional training on customer service and, especially, how staff interact with children and families. A little patience, kindness, and education can make a huge difference in a family's experience.
