The service was good as was the coffee. I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. It had to be one of the smallest bagels ever. It was tough and hard to chew. I wouldn't have wanted to eat it after the first bite but it was almost lunchtime and I hadn't eaten anything so I was hungry. Atmosphere - Simple with not much seating.  Long space with open kitchen concept with the fryers to your left as your walk in.  There is a short wall separating you from the kitchen but keeping the space very visible.  The cashier is at the end of the space along with the drink station behind them. Food Coffee - I had a large mocha.  4 stars for the coffee.  Not over sweet which I like but could have a more chocolate taste.  Heat level allowed you to drink immediately. Donuts - My wife asked the cashier, sorry do not remember his name, what his favorites were.  We went with his answer, French Toast & Bacon in the Sun.  These cake donuts were amazing.  The French Toast was the star for me.  I swore I was eating French Toast it was so amazing.  The Bacon in the Sun was great, but I am still thinking about my next French Toast Duck Donut. Service - One guy walked in while parking, so not to crowded as he was the only guest in the place.  We walked in and greeted by the cook.  Asked if we had been here before, nope.  He gave us a run down on how the place works.  Fresh dropped batter in the fryer for your donut order.  The cook does his magic after they donuts cook and adds the proper toppings.  The cashier was friendly and explained the process again to us.  While deciding we placed our coffee order, and the he asked how many donuts we were planning to order so the frying could happen.  The pick up area is close to the door, and the donuts came out quickly.  The cook presented our donuts to us with the box opened asked if they looked good.  I was drooling at this point, my mask was hiding that from everyone.  Picking up the box you could feel the heat radiating from the box.  The coffee was the slow part today,  I was shocked as I expecting the donuts be the slow part.  The place was full by the time we left.  And it was not because they were slow. Excited because Duck Donuts in Duck, NC is a must stop while we are vacationing in North Carolina's Outer Banks (seriously we eat there every single day on vacay)! Scared because there is no way that it could be as good as the original location. I was wrong! They taste just like the original location. I got my two favorites a donut with a lemon icing, and a donut with chocolate icing and shredded coconut. Delicious! It all starts with a fresh (warm) vanilla cake donut. If you like cake donuts you will like this new shop! They are made when ordered donuts. It does take a little long, particularly when there is a line. Overall the doubts where good. A little pricey in my opinion... almost $40 for a dozen and a half donuts. The staff was really friendly, the owner,Daniel, was really nice as well... Not bad donuts, but not great. Takes a while being made to order not sure why they don't have a generic selection to choose from but I guess that's their gig. I would say they run second place in the specialty donut world to "Hurts Donuts" but that's my Opinion you should give them a try and form your own. I don't give five stars easily but this place is cool! All donuts are made to order, and our server said this is the 68th franchise and first in Arizona. We got a donut that was freshly made and dipped in vanilla with chocolate drizzle and rainbow sprinkles. The whole thing was $2.75 and a great dessert for my son. My most recent visit was 2 days ago, probably my 4th time. I must say, I was really happy with the service I received from the two women, LINDSEY and KATHY. They were very friendly,  and made the donuts perfect, just like the pictures! I ordered 2 dozen, and each were fully covered with icing and toppings, unlike some of the other times I've come, when too much of the donut was visible. They also were able to package 2 of the donuts in single, separate boxes, without any additional charges. It was a great experience. One of the dozen was their "Box of Chocolates" special, featuring Valentine's Day flavors. The office thought they were so pretty, and enjoyed them. I must say, every experience here so far has been enjoyable, and ALL of the staff have been really nice and friendly, and a pleasure to work with. It's nice when staff are patient, and willing to accommodate requests, or answer any questions, and offer suggestions (I am very indecisive, so I appreciate this). Was feeling a donut craving and happened to see Duck Donuts. Even at 2:00 in the afternoon, it was pretty busy. I ordered the cherry lime cheesecake donut and a lemon raspberry one, just to try them out.
