I couldn't be more excited to see on my Yelp app a Duck Donuts location that is in the East Valley. I used to get them in SoCal all of the time. The concept is simple-- you order your donuts and then they make it afterwards- you literally are getting the freshest donut possible. Very similar to Krispy Kreme. The donuts have that fresh doughy flavor to it -- just an fyi as these don't taste like normal donuts. I think it's delicious!! And as you can see in the pics they are generous with the toppings, the donut itself is large, and it's refreshing to eat a donut that has frosting on it that doesn't taste funny. I like the confetti, apple, and bacon donuts, again they are amazing. There is a website to look at the different types, and you can pre-order as well. Service was great, staff was friendly as can be. Will definitely go back when I can spare the calories, and you should be on your way over there as well !!!! Thanks. read more

Cute place with a couple of tables inside. The Person behind the counter was super nice and explained that you can order a donut anyway you like, they make them to order. They are all vanilla cake donuts. The donuts came out super warm. Melt in my mouth gooyeness. We got 2 donuts, I don't think you can order just one, they come in pack sizes. We got the glazed and chocolate glazed. Both very good. And then he gave us a French toast to try. That was good too, very cinnamony. read more

I had high hopes for Duck Donuts. Many years ago, I checked out Duck Donuts on a vacation in I believe Richmond, Virginia. So, I was excited to return to this donut shop many years later in Chandler. On the surface, there's a lot to like. I'll get there in a second. Located in a shopping center with several other businesses, parking won't be a problem. I stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon. Ambiance (3.5/5): Pretty much your typical donut shop. Small. A handful of tables. But definitely more of a grab-and-go type spot. One of the highlights? They sell rubber duckies. And not just your typical rubber duckies. Lots of different ones. Makes sense given the name, huh? While I didn't buy any, I was tempted. Service (3.5/5): Pretty much standard service. There was one lady working when I arrived. She took my order, made my donuts, and gave them to me. She handled the service experience from beginning to end. She wasn't terribly friendly, but she handled everything in a satisfactory manner. Drinks (N/A): No drinks for me on this visit, but they did have an interesting menu of lemonades/juices and milkshakes with mini donuts. Solid offerings for a donut shop. Food (3/5): While Duck Donuts has breakfast sandwiches served on donuts or bread, their bread and butter (pun intended) are their donuts. You have 20-25 donuts to choose from which is a pretty nice selection. Since I visited in October, they even had seasonal Halloween donuts which was pretty awesome. I ordered four donuts to-go. Here's part of where Duck Donuts excels. Their donuts are made to order meaning they're served warm. A warm donut is always better than a cold donut that has been sitting there for hours on end any day of the week. Duck Donuts also offers an interesting selection of toppings, so their donuts look great. Unfortunately, the core, the donut itself, is mediocre at best. You'll be getting a cake donut as your base. I've had a lot better donuts in my day, so while the toppings are great, and the fact that they're made-to-order is fantastic, it's not enough. Without a strong foundation, there's only so much to enjoy. Duck Donuts are average donuts in my book. While I like the selection and that they're served warm (which most places don't offer), the donut itself could be better. read more

Giving a 2 for the effort and friendliness. The donuts were not what I would consider a DOUGHnut when you think of the dough a classic donut gives. These are definitely cake style donuts but the batter tastes under done, flour like. The choice of frosting - melts right off due to the donuts are made or order. I felt like I was eating a donut that I warmed up in the microwave too long. Not a fan if I'm being honest. The employee there was very friendly. read more

We stopped by here after Rita's. My husband has a sweet tooth and I'm 9 months pregnant so a donut after burritos sounded great! Staff was so nice and very attentive. We ordered a dozen donuts for two us -ridiculous considering we ordered 17 burritos at Rita's. I got maple a donut my husband ordered 4 lemon, 3 chocolate, 1 maple, 1 blueberry, Girl Scout donut. And I can't remember what else.. The donuts - are so good!!! Nice and warm we loved them all! Great spot! read more

As others said, very interesting! They make the donuts on order, you can watch! So because of that, maybe it gave the donut a different consistency/texture. Unfortunately, it missed the mark for my bf and I. Our tastebuds wanted a classic donut taste. But that doesn't mean it's not someone else's cup of tea. A wide variety of options, plus you can just do a simple custom. I did a maple plain. We also got the coffee cake, didn't really have a coffee cake taste. Everyone was very pleasant and patient, explained things to us, offered tips, like eating it fresh with a spoon that way it's not too hot on our fingers. I got a black coffee, it was good with enough body that it wasn't watery and my bf got a cappuccino he said he enjoyed. Thankfully they were blasting their AC so I wasn't sweating as I was drinking my hot coffee and enjoying my donut. Seating is very limited. 1 table with 4 chairs and then a two seater. So hopefully you plan to just take it home. Things are simple and clean inside. Perhaps if the donuts had time to sit and cool down I would enjoy it more. But I don't think I'll be back when I'm craving donuts. Appreciated my visit though. read more

Here's another favorite dessert spot. Freshly cooked donuts are the absolute best. The warm, soft, sweet donut leaves my taste buds desiring more. I had a Groupon for a $10 purchase and ordered 4 donuts. 1-Chocolate Iced, 2-Cinnamon Sugar, 3-Vanilla Iced with Hot Fudge Drizzle, and 4-Bacon in the Sun. They were all so good. My favorites were the chocolate iced and vanilla icing with hot fudge drizzle. I was greeted immediately as I walked in and my order was taken right away. The four donuts I ordered took less than five minutes to prepare. The store is colorful with cute little duckies on a shelving unit which caught my eye. I couldn't wait to get in my car and gobble down one of the donuts. I had to do eenie meanie miney mo' to choose which one to eat lol. The vanilla icing with hot fudge drizzle was the winner. read more

I love these donuts! Hot, fresh and made to order. I always get maple glaze, bacon crumbles, with a marshmallow drizzle. The location is basically to go only, just a couple chairs and a table. The wait isn't bad and the hot fresh donuts are completely worth it. There are tons of possible combinations. read more

Found Duck Donuts on a Sunday afternoon tucked away in the plaza here in Chandler. The concept is made to order and definitely worth the short wait for these delicious warm donuts! This is the perfect post dinner or heck pre dinner spot to enjoy fresh made oooey gooeyiness! We ordered an assortment from maple, bacon, and jelly to the Boardwalk which has Oreo bits and pieces! I love how once your order is ready, the staff shows off your donuts for you to see before enjoying. We sat right down and dug in! I never knew I needed bacon on a donut with jelly....woooowww! I think it's my new favorite donut spot! In addition to donuts, sandwiches, ice cream, and beverages are part of the menu! Definitely worth a try! read more

We LOVE a good fun duck donut! it's such a great after school treat the sizes are very large and the price isn't too bad either!

It never fails, to go here for a sweet treat! I've noticed that these donuts are good for up to 3 days, (in my opinion)so go ahead and get a half dozen or more. They advertised Special Father's Day donuts in which, anything with bacon is a win win for me. I had one that I'd like to name the bacon overload...OMG WAS IT HEAVEN! They are closed today which if I were the business owner I'd open mainly on the holidays but hey who am I! I went on Friday since I was in the area. There's plenty of parking and it's easy to locate. (Next to Panda) Once again, I recommend going here as I'll always try to return, when in the area. read more

This place is located on the SW corner of Arizona and Ocotillo, across the street from Hamilton High School. Many shops and stores around including a Lowe's a little more South and LA Fitness/Esporta on the NE corner. These donuts are made to order when you order them but it does not take long to make them. They look pretty much exactly like they look in the pictures (see photo). There is something to be said for being freshly made. I posted a picture of the options. You can call ahead to have them ready when you walk in. They taste great as expected, they are donuts but very creative options. read more

Duck donuts is Locally owned. The store is very cute lots of little duck merchandise Yes you can buy rubber ducks here. All donuts are custom made before you, there's a variety of toppings and drizzles . Most of them are priced at $2.79. My only complaint is that because it's warm and made to order sometimes I find the coatings melting away in the box. Overall great spot to indulge your donut cravings. Did I mention the ice cream and milk shakes, they are absolutely yummy. Cheers! read more

I love duck donuts! The team is always so sweet- we've met the owner a few times and he is so kind. These donuts are best when they're hot and fresh! Every flavor we've gotten we enjoy. Recently, the cinnamon sugar with coconut on top was a great summer treat! We get a couple different flavors and cut them up and share so we can try a bunch of different flavors. ** This is not one of your point and choose kind of donut shops. Everything is made fresh to order after you choose your donuts with the staff. Another thing to keep in mind, all the donuts are the same vanilla cake and then you choose your coating, topping and sprinkles. There are also examples of combinations if you're like me and too indecisive to choose individually. If you want stuff like cruellers, jelly stuffed, mochi, long johns, etc...this is not the place. Lols Plenty of parking outside. We walked in and my 4 year old squealed with delight at the rubber duckies and Ollie the duck cutouts. Shop isn't large and I recall a couple tables with chairs but that was fine with me. We were greeted warmly and asked if it was our first time, which it was. So she proceeded to explain the menu, which was a lil overwhelming for me with all the combinations but nothing to complain about. Lols My daughter and I love that there are pictures. I also saw they offer coffee, drinks, breakfast sandwiches and donut platters... My daughter had fun watching them make the donuts and glaze them behind the protective glass. We ordered 4 donuts - raspberry fluff, blueberry pancake, strawberry confetti and forgot what the fourth was. But they all were warm and delish! I recommend letting it cool a bit before you take a bite. Maybe a bit too sweet for me bc I don't have a huge sweet tooth. But my daughter gobbled it up. Lols read more

Of the 106 locations, I wonder if I'm the only one whose been to the West Coast (Phoenix) and an East Coast location (Fairfax)? Either way, Duck Donuts has IMO clearly changed the industry on perfect donuts. How far have you traveled for a 'donut'?? I traveled from Tucson to Phoenix, that's right. JUST to eat a Duck Donut!! LOL. Thats's right, you read that correctly. Duck Donuts has changed the industry and I'd dare say, that as far I've traversed this globe, no other business has captured the perfection of taste, enthusiasm and overall store quality as Duck Donuts. I am in no way affiliated in any way corporately, family or otherwise with D.D.. I'm just a very impressed customer. So you say, 'How can a donut... possibly taste as good as this guy states??' Go and see for yourself. We met Kai and was impressed with her work enthusiasm and fellow Staff personnel's attention to detail. I brought my wife in for one and she was delightfully impressed... We had Duck Donuts and actually ordered it through DoorDash. We ordered the Signature Assortment which consisted of Bacon in the Sun, Beach Ball, Peanut Butter Paradise, Blueberry Pancake, The Boardwalk, Sunrise, French Toast, Smore's, Sand Dollar, The Beach, The Flip-Flop, and the Coconut Island Bliss. The donuts definitely looked delicious so we started to eat little by little to try out the flavors. The donuts I tried were all delicious. My favorite was The Boardwalk because of the Oreo crumbs on it. The donuts were not overly sweet and I thought it was just right. I would recommend the Signature Assortment since you can try majority of the donuts that Duck Donuts offered. Good donuts at Duck Donuts! read more

I had Duck Donuts for the first time today - had heard good things so wanted to check it out while we were over in the East valley. We ordered a dozen donuts (we chose the toppings), a donut breakfast sandwich (was supposed to be bacon egg and cheese but it was - unfortunately - missing the bacon), a black cold brew iced coffee, and a vanilla, sweet cream cold brew iced coffee. The donuts were good - I wouldn't say they are the best I've had, but in fairness, we ordered through DoorDash and the driver had them in his car for 45 minutes (sigh). The sandwich was really good - would have been better with the bacon! And the cold brews were good! Overall, would recommend - next time, we will go in person! read more

The business owner (Dan) reached out to me after my last review, so I decided to give Duck Donuts another go. I'm glad I did! I made a few mistakes in my last review. One, we had the donuts a few hours later so they were no longer warm and fresh. The donuts are all made-to-order and they are 100x better if you eat them right away. The box says you can zap them in the microwave if you don't get to them while they are warm. Second, I had complained that our last order was missing the graham cracker topping. It wasn't, I was wrong. The graham cracker is ground up into a powder so I didn't notice and assumed it was a mistake. Third, I was a bit fatigued when I wrote my first review (had just gotten the vaccine the day before), so I wasn't as detailed and balanced as I try to normally be. Dan is an awesome business owner and I'm very grateful he took the time to show me how great Duck Donuts is. We had a nice conversation about how he decided to open this franchise and he clearly has a lot of passion to make his customers happy and fill them with tasty warm donuts. There aren't a lot of this type of donut shop in the valley and it is a welcome addition. Krispy creme has fresh glaze donuts but limited variety. Bosa has huge selection but the donuts aren't as fresh. Duck has the best of both worlds. Obviously that means it is a little more pricey, but it's totally worth it. If you just want something simple, Krispy Kreme will do the job, but if you want to try delicious donut combinations Duck Donuts is the place to go. Thanks again to Dan for reaching out to me! read more

Someone joked saying if they use duck fat in making these donuts. Well, I am not sure, may be they do coz it tastes delicious. I have been eyeing on Duck donuts for quiet a while now. Went ahead and ordered online and we went crazy. U can choose your own toppings, create and customize ur own. If you are not up for it, u can always pick the assorted. We did just that, picked half a dozen assorted donuts. It was ready in 20 min and was made freshly on order. When I picked it was warm and took a bite it was soft, tasty and melted in my mouth. I loved the berry topped and glazed. The size of the donuts is decent not too big or small but the price is definitely on the higher side. We can get a meal instead of half dozen donuts. That's the only down side, otherwise I am going in here very soon. read more
