I just moved to the area and needed a few things done with my car. Found this place on Yelp and stopped by- SO glad I did. After calling a few places for quotes, Car Tek gave me the least expensive quote and service exceeded my expectations. Ryan is amazing and even helped me with something in my car that I couldnt figure out (user error on my part lol). I felt like the entire experience, from the quote, to ordering the part, and then picking my car up was extremely easy and the interactions with Ryan felt very genuine. Would highly recommend! read more

Brought my car in for a service. They called me and recommended I replace my cabin filter. They wanted 56 dollars for labor to replace the filter. I told them I would do it myself. It took me two minutes to pull the filter out and it didn't need replacement. I shook out a tiny bit of debris to bring back to new condition. read more

Thank you T! This man is amazing! Tire had 2 nails in it on Wednesday, before Thanksgiving. T happily took my car with all the he chaos...6pm they close..I go there at 4:30. I had a smog check done on my car today, and wanted to write this review to say that the service was fast and friendly. I made my appointment via yelp and received $20 off the smog check with their coupon. They have signs up at the entrance about the precautions they are taking (wearing masks, social distancing, etc.) due to the public health situation. The technician who did the smog check wiped down the inside of my car after the service, which was appreciated. I hope as consumers that we can continue to support our local businesses as best we can. If you need a smog check done, I fully recommend this place. read more

I just called to get an estimate to get some work done. i just asked two questions about recommendation from dealer and person's answer ( first 30 second of call) , "I am frustrated that you are not listening" :). seriously frustrated in 30 second if customer asks about $1000 estimate. read more

As always, Dublin Car Tek delivers outstanding service. Brought our Mercedes Benz in early this morning for an oil change and they completed the service without delay. Ryan is professional, accurate and fair with service pricing. Ryder is experienced, prompt, thorough and communicates all information relating to our vehicle's diagnostic. These two take pride in their work ethic and customer service and we have trusted them with all of our vehicles. Not one problem or issue in our 9 year relationship with them. read more

Was referred to this place by the Goodyear Tire on Rosewood for a CA smog check. So HUGE THANK YOU for the referral. I called at just after 3pm and they were able to get me in same day for an appointment which was perfect. I was at the shop by 3:45 and I was leaving by 4:15. Very straight forward appointment and the technicians all seemed very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely will keep these guys in mind for future services. read more

Took my car for some noise. The folks there effectively found the root cause and helped fix it. They even recommended the cheapest alternative versus the expensive one which other car mechanics would quote. read more

I put in a quote on Yelp for smog price for my daughter's car and Car Tek came back with best price near us. Made appointment and got in quickly. Was done in 30 minutes and Ryan was the one who helped us. Friendly & great service too! Will be back! read more

Found Car Tek on yelp with great reviews so decided to give it a try. Came here 2 weeks ago for a smog check. Price was very reasonable. Ryan and the guys were super friendly, professional and service was fast. Because of the great experience I had, I went back to them for an AC problem today. Again, service was excellent. These guys are honest and I would definitely return for future services! read more

Needed a smog check I had called around to different places and received a quote from Tim through Yelp. This was one of the lowest quotes in the area. I had a few more questions and Tim answered them through Yelp quickly. Tim set up an appt for the next day. FYI - they stop taking smog checks 1 hour before close. I was there a few minutes before my appt. and 25 minutes later it was done! Ryan at the front desk was extremely helpful and just a nice person - WOW, I'm really impressed with this place. They give a discount if you mention you found them from Yelp (be sure to say it while making the appointment). I will definitely come back!. read more

Love these guys - they are straight forward, set appropriate expectations in terms of repair costs and time and fixed my car problem (repairing the shock suspension for my QX80). I would highly recommend this business, mostly because they are honest and delivered above and beyond! read more

I called for a smog inspection quote, scheduled appointment for following day, was in and out in know time. Appreciate the excellent customer service. Will be back for other types of work for my vehicle. Thank you read more

I went to Dublin Car Tek based on a recommendation. I have been very happy with my existing mechanic, but I thought I would give this place a try since it is closer to my home. What a great experience I had here!!! Alan was very thorough with his descriptions and explanations of what they would be checking and doing for replacing my front brakes, which were vibrating due to the rotors being warped. He provided my with several options and let me choose what I wanted to do and said he would call if they saw anything else once they got under the vehicle. They found no other issues on my '06 Lexus GX and the work that they did was outstanding! I have already referred a couple of other people over to them for a variety of work and I only went here this week. Thanks Dublin Car Tek!!!! read more

Ryan from Car Tek of Dublin is straight up a GOOD PERSON. He took care of me right away and was transparent and honest. His prices were well beyond reasonable and he actually cares! I'm definitely coming back if I need any car work in the future. THANK YOU RYAN! I appreciate you more than you'll ever know! read more

Ryan gave excellent service. I needed a headlight bulb to be changed and he gave me a quote and instead of charging me what he said he knocked the price down because it was easier to do than expected! He didn't take my money, he was honest and fair! It's a shame more mechanics don't conduct business like him. Car Tek has a new loyal customer! I would definitely recommend! read more

I brought my car in for brake pads replacements and a tune up. Ryan was very respectful and fair with how he priced my services. They were quick and responsive. 10/10 would recommend. Love this place. read more

Simple phone call asking about their service and whoever answered the phone made me sound like I was an idiot for asking. I called asking about sending my car over for a headgasket job, and I asked what was built into the "estimated cost". The price isn't why I was motivated to write this review. It was the attitude of the person on the phone. TOTALLY rude. sigh. On to the next mechanic. read more

This is a hidden gem, smack dab in the middle of car central (gas stations, Kragen, Autobahn, parts and maintenance galore) but it his literally hidden behind Subway so don't become discouraged when you're cruising down Dougherty and miss the turn off onto Sierra Ln. Car Tek is there and they are ready for you! I came here for a desperately needed oil change and got just what I needed. They did not push for special parts or any of the bells and whistles other* Oil/Tire places try to add on to the bill. The service was responsive, quick and very informative. They even finished sooner than they had estimated... which was so nice since I was there during my lunch hour. If you go to their website you can print out a coupon, I saved $5.00! I would definitely come back and recommend it to a friend. (*see Jiffy Lube) read more

Ryan is awesome! When a mechanic tells you not to worry, you really don't need any service at this time, but I would be happy to put some air in your tires and top of fluids if you'd like, I say, "Wow!" Twice now, he has taken care of little things like this for me without charging. I plan on returning when he says it's time for an oil change. Thank you for restoring my faith that there are still good people out there, who just want to help. read more

I took my car to this place for some electrical work and a synthetic oil change and front wheel alignment. The oil chg and wheel alignment were straightforward enough... the electrical work, wow, what a mess. They quoted me a quote to quote me. Yes, you read that right. Then, they said it would probably cost $180-220 to tell me what was wrong. I thought a quote was supposed to do that, and not cost so much. I got charged $30 to be told that it would cost $180-220 to get me the real quote. Then he asks me for the wiring diagram. If I had that and a few tools, I'd do the work myself. Also, they are not the friendliest place around, kinda feels like I'm visiting the Bronx or something. I think their plate is plenty full, so no need to fight hard for more customers. That's the impression, anyhoo. But the prices and service for typical stuff (fluid changes, brakes) seems to be pretty good. And clearly they do a good job at the most basic kinda stuff. And the prices are okay, but not fantastic. I was charged the same price here that I was quoted from other places. Exactly the same. Also, I was told to have my brake fluid, steering fluid and tranny fluid changed, but that was done only a year ago, so I know they were trying to "sell" me on unnecessary services. I don't know what the hype is all about. I think this place is decent (hence the 3 stars), but for more complext work, I'm taking my car to another business in San Ramon. FAR more sophisticated, far friendlier and even holds about 8x the number of cars. read more

I brought in my car for an air conditioning problem. Allen was very attentive and set the expectation on what I may be paying. When the work was done and I was retrieving my car, Ryan was at the front desk. He stated to save me cost on labor in the future, he replaced a belt in my car and took the initiative to find me a coupon to not only offset the cost, but saved me additional money. This customer service is above and beyond what I expected. Kudos to running business in this manner. Teresa C. read more

I wanted to put in this long overdue positive review for Ryan at Dublin Car Tek. Ryan was very competent in his assessment of both mine and my daughter's car. Ryan was fair in the pricing and explained what had to be done now and what we could wait to have done. We were very satisfied with the work and the way we were treated. I would highly recommend Ryan and Dublin Car Tek for your repair and maintenance needs. read more

The charge me $190 just to look at the check engine light! They told me everything after that to fix the problem is totally a separate charge. WTF, AutoZone charge $0 to get the code. Looks like this shop only serve their own friends, like the review above. DO NOT GO THERE. Quality Tune right across the street is million times better than this place! read more

It was easy to make an appointment and everything was ready to go when I got there. My car needed smog (just moved back to CA) and the cost was very reasonable, the service impeccable and timely, and the experience pleasant. Plenty of parking and a nice restaurant in the same sort of strip mall that makes amazing food. They accept credit cards and I got all my receipts. Nothing hidden. I'll be back! read more

I called and talked to Allen on Friday, very nice guy who scheduled me for Saturday morning. on Saturday Allen was off that day. oh my God the man on duty at the front desk was so rude, acted like he was not interested in doing business with any one. I will never go back. Sorry Allen you need to talk to your Coworkers. read more

So, it's Friday after work and I'm winding my way back to San Leandro from Half Moon Bay when out of nowhere my, "Check Engine" light comes on. You just know what I'm thinking. I'm trying to figure out either how I'm going to get my car repaired on a Saturday or how am I going to adjust work to fit in this sudden repair. Not to mention the $$ I'll wind up spending. Long story short, I end up calling this place Saturday around 11am and telling Ryan that if he can take me, I'm on my way. I get out there, he does a diagnostic to see what the problem is. Afterwards, he comes back and tells me that he's 99.9% certain that his course of action will solve the problem. The most amazing thing of all is that the total cost was WAY cheaper than I had imagined. Whew! I think I was there all of 90 minutes. Talk about having a wonderful weekend! I could have floated all the way back home. This place literally saved my neck. Much thanks to Ryan and his staff at Dublin Car Tek. read more

I went to Dublin Car Tek to have my front brakes and rotors replaced on my BMW. Needless to say this type of maintenance on a BMW is pricey anywhere you go for quality work. They allowed me to use coupon for discount off brake service in the Value Pak too, which saved me $50. We scheduled appointment and they got my car in and out same day. I appreciate the ride to/from the nearest BART station which was very helpful. Within a month or so, my brake lights and parking brake indicator comes on again. Fortunately after speaking with Owner and Shane we scheduled to bring car in for oil change and find out what was happening with these indicators coming on and off sporadically. The guys looked at the problem and fixed it. I appreciate the follow-up call a few weeks after to inquire if I was satisfied and how my car was running. I really appreciate the call and meant to give you all a great Yelp review weeks ago. Thank you again for the service and making it right! read more

Backed into a fence and smashed my tail light. Car Tek was able to order the new light and have it fixed the same day as my call. They gave me a good fair price, and were able to patiently explain why everything needed to be done. They were very kind and patient with my questions and various fixes. read more

Another happy experience at Car Tek. Our Tahoe's emergency break's cable snapped and Ryan coached me through the process of manually releasing it while not being kicked in the face by the released peddle. Evidently he has personal experience to vouch for the amazing kick these peddles pack! Got the cable replaced and was once again pleased by Ryan's knowledge, willingness to help and above all above-board honesty and integrity. The bill was less than expected --- how often does that happen??? And the 10% discount on labor over $200 was an added bonus. If you're in the market for good, honest and dependable upkeep and care for your car I would highly recommend them. Plus, it's so nice to be able to trust that your car is going to get the best care possible, without having unneeded repairs and sky rocketing costs to deal with. read more

Shout out to Alan for excellent customer service. Long story I had a huge mix up with an insurance claim, Alan was beyond patient and helpful during the process. Alan went above and beyond to help me get things situated. While Car Tek never actually performed work on my vehicle the customer service was outstanding. I would definitely return here for service. read more

Just re-iterating my rating. This place is a great value. I had them smog test my mother's car. It was convenient; I dropped it off at lunch and it was ready a few hours later. My mom was happy to get it done without having to wait there. Alan was great dealing with my mother and getting her smog needs taken care of same day. Another great experience. read more

NOTE: I don't know enough about cars or mechanics to give a full 5 stars, so 4 stars is as high praise as I can give here. Car Tek serviced my car once before for what ended up being a bad battery and I can only give good marks there. But I give GREAT marks for today, as I dropped my car off this morning w/out an appointment because it "sounded like sh*t. (That's my non-professional assessment, of course.) 2 hrs later they called to tell me my alternator was probably busted and everything needed to be pulled apart to confirm and repair. The quoted price seemed reasonable to me and they had parts in stock. I'll have my car back in the next 1/2 hour, before their shop closes for the day. All in all, I've only ever been treated with respect and kindness. I've gotten my car back quickly, much faster than I expected, and at reasonable cost. I recommend Car Tek to anyone in the area who needs fast, reliable service. read more

Incredible service from Ryan at Dublin Car Tek! He saved our day- we drove up with part of our car literally falling off. Ryan saw us outside and immediately said he could take a look. Luckily it was a quick solution, and he fixed it for us right there and was extremely knowledgeable about what had gone wrong and how to fix it. We were in and out in five minutes, and to top it off he said the fix was on the house! We live a few cities over but will come back for this stellar service. Highly recommend this place! read more

My first visit to car tek was several years ago- I was new to the area and didn't know where to take my car and not get ripped off. I asked around and a friend referred me to Ryan at Dublin Car Tek. I called to make an appointment and explained the issue I was having in the best detail I could- Ryan told me to come in that afternoon and he'd take a look. I was so surprised, I thought for sure I'd have to wait a week. I came in and he said "let's take it for a spin and see if we can get it to repeat the problem" WE DROVE UNTIL IT DID IT. Based on my experience with previous mechanics and dealerships I thought it went like this: you tell them the problem as best you can- they have no idea what you're talking about- you drop off the car, they keep it for a day or two (while you're out transportation) to call you and tell you they couldn't get it to act up and that will be $200.00 thank you. Nope. Not anymore. Ryan has a magic foot- he got it to do it, asked questions I wouldn't have thought of telling him, to understand the problem better and explained what the problem was. The tranny was old and was surely slipping and would eventually need to be replaced. He told me how much transmissions cost and my heart sank. I asked how long it would last in the condition it was in. He said it's unpredictable- It could be a week or it could be a year. I told him I definitely didn't have the money to replace the tranny right now so I would have to drive it into the ground. I took the car to Car Tek for service and upkeep and it lasted another year and a half, before I sold it with the tranny still working! Over the years I felt like the guys at Car Tek became my friends. I look forward to taking my car there. I know they care about the work they do and it shows. Allen can fix any problem, quickly. Cameron is super dedicated and focused. Angel is an incredibly hard worker. Pat is always moving and helping out. Ryan is super smart, HONEST, and can come up with a solution to anything you can put in front of him. And Tim really cares about what he does- you can see the heart and passion in that shop. I would recommend Car Tek to anyone, with any problem. A good, honest mechanic is not easy to come by now a days. Car Troubles don't scare me like they used to. I have "Automotive Security" now. And I've never once over-paid. Thank you Car Tek. read more

Was going out of town and pressed for work on my Mercedes and Tim and Ryan had the car towed. While they were really busy, they were able to diagnose the vehicle in a half day, called me with an estimate for time and money, which seemed reasonable. They stated it would be 2-3 days to get parts. Called me the next morning to follow up stating the parts would be in early and, low and behold, the car was done the next night, 1 day early. Was pleased with their professionalism and they completed the job sooner than expected and charged me the price quoted. Such a great experience! I found MY SHOP! read more

I've been going to Car Tek more than 15 years. They've done everything from oil changes and brakes to bearings, shocks and one time replacing an engine in my then 12 yr old F150. They've serviced my (and son's) American sedans, pickup, and sports cars and they stand by their work. Last week I took in my sports car because of wheel noise and I as a shade tree mechanic, guessed one thing. Tim and Alan checked it out and guessed it was another - not something expensive as I guessed. They were right. They've always demonstrated high ethics, doing work thats needed and they don't try to find work that is not needed. I'll keep going to Car Tek for the coming years - its rare to find customer service, and quality workmanship, so I'd recommend going to Car Tek when you have car maintenance needs. read more
