Customer service is what separates Ace Hardware from larger chains. If management wants to remain competitive, additional training and oversight may be necessary. Their garden center is a bit on the small side compared to the home depot up the street, but it's also a smaller store chain. Every time I go here, the people are super friendly and helpful. My last experience was doing propane swaps. I did 2x swaps and the second I walked in with the tanks (I had no idea what to do) a greeter told me to head outside and leave the tanks in front. After that, I went inside, was almost instantly rung up, and then went back out to see the same person waiting with both thanks waiting for me! Quick, painless, and friendly. The only time i'll go to Home Depot over here is in case they don't have the parts I need.

I love getting my perennial flowers here, lots of rare stuff that you can't find at most nurseries. I got my jasmine, fuschia, lavender, salvia, petunias, nemesia, zinnias, and cosmos here. They have lots of unusual colors. Tomatoes are $3 most of the time. Strawberries come in a prolific 6 pack. Thai chili and basil can be found here too, as well as okra and other harder to find veggies. Seed selection is the best. This was my year for planting from seed and the basil seeds I got from dales produced spicy sprouts that are so much more fragrant than that at the grocery store. Staff is welcoming and extremely chill as I tend to browse here for hours! Price point is lower than most specialty nurseries while providing a world class selection.

Surveying the products on the shelf, I realized that I could use some of the fly ribbons and sticky traps I already have at home (previously used for flies). But I also grabbed some Safer Home pantry pest traps this time around. The store was clean and organized on a Wednesday afternoon. The pest control products were easy to find, the location similar to most other HD stores (far aisle on the left in Pleasanton). Checking out was quick and simple without any waits. In fact, there were workers at the self checkout registers helping customers ring up their orders... unnecessary but appreciated (as long as they don't slow me down). There was even an employee greeting guests at the entrance, and she was helpful and friendly too. Even though I just made a small purchase on this day, I was genuinely impressed with the service here, as well my overall experience.

Lowes does not own installation team, but rely solely on subcontractors. 1.We paid Lowes full price for installation and was assured scheduler will call within 48 hours 2. Had to call Lowes after 96 hours waiting...who gave me subcontractor number.....who happens to be in LA, while I am located in SF bay area 3. The subcontracttor NEVER called, I had to call 3-4 different times to be "assured" installer will call me 4. After 4 times, they gave installer number ( name AJ )....who never ever answered the phone 5. Finally after lot of escalations by Lowes install team, so called AJ called this morning telling ( not asking) that he will visit between 100 and 130 6. AJ does not have simply courtesy to call/text that he is running late 7. Shows up at 345....one look and says he can not install garage door opener ...the reason he gave is power outlet point is not exactly above opener motor. 8. Asked if its building code, he explained Lowes prohibits to install if power outlet is not directly above motor....and he will call Lowes to cancel installation. Had a pleasant experience today when picking up some salt pellets during lunch time. In and out…read morewithin 15 minutes. Service was quick and thank you to the staff who helped me load six 40lbs salt pellets Diamond Crystal bright & soft($8.99) to my car. Also I have their rewards app so I was able to use a $10 coupon off over $50 spending. Without the coupon, their regular retail price $8.99 is a bit more costly than Home Depot $6.73 per pack (bulk price -6packs or more or $7.48 regular price) but with the coupon it offsets the large price gap. I am paying about $4 more than Home Depot but I think about the time I save for check out and I won't need to do the heavy lifting all by myself. Their service speed really helps when you know you can make a quick stop to get things done in a short amount of time. I hope ACE can think about offering bulk pricing on sale pellets in the future so their price is more comparable to Home Depot. I also noticed that they now got pies by the entrance! I know where to get some pies the next time I crave for it.
