This is my local paint store. I like the quality of the paint and the color selection. The staff is friendly and helpful. I also appreciate that I can order what I want online and then drop by to pick up my order. There's a parking lot too. Lastly, through out the year, they have great sales (I recently got 40% off of interior semi-gloss). Note that this location has a full range of outdoor staining products unlike the other Hayward location. read more

Specialty wood primer is in good stock at this location. Quick and helpful people work here - been many times and always great service. A lot of the specialty bonding primers are in short stock at many of these stores but I've had the best luck at this location. Maybe Hayward and Castro Valley residents don't take primer seriously enough to come to a dedicated paint store - who knows. I've been slowly painting - with an old wooden house its sort of an ongoing process that needs constant touch up. I watch all the neighbors houses peel after a few years sometimes as short as in 6 months. I ask around and really out of a recommendation from plaster master Kirk Giordano do I walk into these stores. A professional doesn't mess around with questionable paint - sure its half the price - but what is one's time worth? I hear the Golden Gate Bridge is never finished being painted. Once they reach one end they start at the beginning again... Painting exteriors probably isn't the worst job in the world but maybe I can do it once the right way and not worry about it for five or more years. read more

I'm not an expert in paint. So what I look for when buying paint is custom service. Going to a big box store for paint is fine, especially if you know your ass from a hole in the wall when it comes to paint. I don't, so it's off to a place where the folks are willing to become part of your project. I did compare prices on spray paint and the ones they offered price wise was completely comparable. Quality seems really good. Where they could improve, is their inventory Control system. They should be able to tell you when a product that is out or on order, when that product will be back in stock. That's more of a home office issue and not a Store issue. If Amazon can tell you down to the day on when they will have a product back in stock no reason a company that only deals with paint and related paint products should be able to take their customer service to that level. read more

DO NOT go to this store. Terrible customer service! I went to this store and they ignored me!! Two workers were helping a customer. Thats fine but 15 mins into the store and the two workers NEVER even acknowedged my presence! The worst part is i told the workers of this and they shrugged there shoulders as if i dont care!!! Usually very happy with this location. Today, 7/30, is crazy. I need a brush. Quick in and out. You would think... I come in and take my brush. The store is empty. I put my brush on the counter. We bought a gallon of paint on Wednesday, Wednesday night heard an ad for 35% off all paint. Went back the next day and asked if we could get the discount, they said they couldn't do anything. We asked why he hadn't even mentioned the day we bought it that it was going on sale the next day, he said he didn't know. Really? It is so rare these days to be able to write a review like this. Lately, I've found myself in battles with insurance companies, furniture stores and home refinance companies and contractors over ridiculous things. Sherwin-Williams in Hayward is the EXCEPTION to this. Let me go back to the beginning. We hired a contractor to paint our home which is primarily concrete, except for the addition which is wood. The contractor said it would be okay to use the same paint for both surfaces. He was proven wrong when, after just two weeks, the paint began to bubble. The contractor refused to remedy the problem, but Sherwin-Williams stood 150% behind their product. Their professional team completely stripped the paint and primer off the wood structure, patched, sanded, re-primed and painted the entire structure AT THEIR EXPENSE. The CertaPro team they used was fantastic. They cleaned up each day and were professional and friendly during the entire 11 day project. I can't recommend them enough to anyone looking at a paint project! It is incumbent upon each of us to support quality businesses like these, especially during such difficult economic times. I came in to get 3 gallons of paint and the staff was so helpful and friendly! I inquired about recycling paint and they let me know they took old paint that needed to be disposed. This seriously made my freakin day! We are moving and I had tons of old paint at home I needed to recycle. After purchasing my new paint I went home and loaded all the old stuff into my car and took it back. Eric was so kind and helped me unload it from my car.
