We found ourselves feeling a little hungry after taking a walk through the swamp about 15 minutes from the cafe, and popped into this quaint little establishment for lunch while exploring the greater New Orleans area. Our plan was to park the car, grab some lunch, then take the ferry across the Mississippi to the city. The Cafe is less than 100 meters from the ferry terminal, and the plan was to take it across ($2 for adults each way, kids free under a certain age) and explore the French Quarter. Street parking is limited, but there is a pay lot for ferry traffic that was reasonable. Unfortunately, the ferry was closed that Monday due to high winds. Still, our visit was not a loss, as we had a chance to try the Dry Dock Cafe. The wife and I split a catfish and shrimp platter, and the kiddo had a grilled cheese. Portions were plenty big, and the service was great. They also make a decent Bloody Mary, if you are in the mood. This is a solid spot, especially if you are able to combine it in with a ferry trip.

Food was ok, nothing to brag about. Waiting for 35 minutes was kind of long when there weren't many customers. Location is very convenient for anyone taking the ferry and wants to grab something before or after taking the ferry.

Take the fairy across the way and stop in to the Dry Dock Cafe the muffaletta is huge even when split into four pieces!! Food is delicious!

Solid neighborhood bar. Outside seating makes for a cold one if you've crossed over on the ferry. Descent burgers and food. My favorite is the club sandwich and a side of slaw. Just like what June and the girls would get at the Country club while Jerry and his buddies tee off. Specials listed on a giant ass board, you may spot a few locals hanging out and the staff is always more than pleasant. And if you wanna be cool like me order the club no membership required, lol.

Dry Dock Café is an amazing, must-visit spot. The muffalleta was delicious and paired perfectly with Abita beer. If you're on Algiers, I highly recommend spotting by.

This is probably the first place you'll see stepping off the Canal Street - Algiers Ferry, so it gets plenty of traffic from folks coming over for the day. Dry Dock is good enough as long as you bring the right expectations. The place is half bar half cafe, and they offer what you'd expect; Various fried seafood plates, hamburgers, po-boys, etc. I had a shrimp po-boy that was tasty enough, and honestly better than my first impressions of the bar interior. Also, it's worth noting that they have fairly late hours compared to other places in the area. It's a great spot for a greasy plate, and a few cold beers

Delicious!! We had the catfish on a bun with a cup of the shrimp and corn bisque, and the bread pudding for dessert. Everything was served quickly (less than 5-10 minutes from the time we ordered to when we got our food. We finished our food within 30 minutes of getting here!) and the staff are super friendly. The bread pudding had whiskey and peach pieces in it -- one of the best we've ever had. Highly recommend!!

Took a ferry ride to kill some time across to Algiers Point. While there yelped places to eat and their were 2. Decided to not have pizza so choice #1 was this place. As we were about to enter we asked the exiting family ( with little ones) how was the food. They said it was great so in we went. Small hometown sports bar vibe, seated quickly, and it never stopped. Service was quick, lots of suggestions from waitstaff, even got a visit from Chef Sam who share his secret to the bread pudding. And it wasn't the whiskey cause he showed us the bottle. So much fun and the food was great. A great find on a whim!!!

This place has been here as long as I can remember. I love all the life preservers hanging on the walls Some of them even have names on them from the boats they came from. I have always had a good lunch here. I really enjoy the sweet potato fries. There are tables and chairs outside where you can sit with your dogs. I see bowls for water for your faithful companions

Cute little place by the Ferry dock. Food was good but the service wasn't all that. Seemed like they were more interested in the locals than the guests...

Cool neighborhood bar at the foot of the Westbank ferry landing. Depends on what you order could be pricey for the portion. But an understuffed fried oyster PoBoy was $19, even the French bread appeared to be slim in size than what I grew up w/at other restaurants. I don't feel it's a tourist trap, but it's probably shrinkflation.

The steak burger was delicious and a great value! The staff were friendly and accommodating- what a happy find just off of the ferry!

Getting there about 5 mins before they opened, there was one couple in line in front of us waiting for them to open. Once they opened, we were immediately seated. They have a nice menu loaded with all the typical NOLA favs. We opted for a half order of their Muffaletta and a Cubano as well as a side of red beans & rice. Their red beans & rice was tasty! Nice texture and flavor. The Muffaletta was really good! Loved the warm, soft, fresh bread... I believe they make it there. The meats and the olive spread were so very fresh and tasty too. The Cubano was a fav as well... made so nicely and packed with flavor too. Their Cuban bread was spot-on as well. Service was great! The warm Italian Muffuletta was another highlight, loaded with ham, Genoa salami, pastrami, Swiss, provolone, and olive salad on fresh seeded Italian bread. Absolutely delicious and a must-try when visiting. To finish, we had the Chocolate Doberge Cake, which was rich, decadent, and the perfect ending to the meal. We arrived sans reservation, but were whisked straight into the courtyard -- arguably the best seat in the house on a pleasant Louisiana evening. Between the soft night air and the glow of the courtyard, the atmosphere alone deserved applause. The cocktails arrived first and immediately set a dangerously high standard: beautifully crafted, perfectly balanced, and the kind of drinks that make you consider canceling your plans afterward. Fortunately, the food rose to the occasion. The edamame and roasted Brussels sprouts disappeared with alarming speed, and the Amelie Salad was a standout -- generously portioned, fresh, vibrant, and substantial enough to be an entrée or ideal for sharing if you're pretending to be civilized. A special nod to Liz, who elevated the entire experience with spot-on recommendations, warm hospitality, and the rare ability to be both attentive and effortlessly relaxed. The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

We had reservations for the Thanksgiving buffet, and the food was tasty with exceptional, attentive service at first. Unfortunately, one staff member significantly disrupted the experience. She approached our table without speaking, reached across us to remove plates while we were still eating, and returned later to grab items again without acknowledgment. When I asked her not to, she responded with visible irritation, eye-rolling and audibly sucking her teeth. When I requested a manager, our server mentioned there had already been complaints. During my conversation with the manager, the rude staff member returned to our table, hands balled in fists and had to be asked to leave. It took the manager several minutes to get her to walk away. While we didn't let it completely ruin the evening, we did cut our visit short as she was near the buffet when we went to get more food. While we received a round of comped drinks, that in no way makes up for the encounter. One person's lack of professionalism--and the manager's inability to effectively address it--made this experience disappointing. I'm hesitant to return, as encountering that staff member again would be enough to turn us away.

On the one hand, it was maybe the least interesting bar in New Orleans. On the other, it was a totally solid conference bar. I wandered in throughout the day and wound up there most nights, for hours of socializing with wonderful friends and colleagues. The space was pretty generic, par for the course for a giant Marriott. If you've ever been in a chain hotel lobby, you can probably close your eyes and conjure the carpets. There was lots of seating, though, and it was a comfortable, easy place to hang out. A convenient meeting point even when I did end up leaving the hotel. The bartenders were decent, though it was hard to get their attention when the place was busy. I had a hell of a time paying for my very wise and virtuous afternoon Diet Pepsi. That was the only non-alcoholic beverage I got here. The rest of the conference, I drank draft Abita and bourbon, and several solid Sazeracs, with rye, Herbsaint, Peychaud's bitters, and simple syrup. If you're a tourist in New Orleans, please don't drink at 55 Fahrenheit. Save your time and health for the myriad bars that await you outside the Marriott. But if you're there for a conference with a lot of fun people, grab a Sazerac and sit down.

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. It started the moment we walked in. Glancing at the hostess, asking "OK to sit at the bar?", getting a nod, sitting down. An experience we've done in hundreds of restaurants. (We had reservations for a table but often prefer the bar.) The bartender -- whom we believe was named Mike -- started off his interaction with new customers as follows. "Did you check with the hostess?" I nodded in the affirmative, apparently that wasn't enough. "Check with the hostess", he ordered. I got up, went over the hostess stand, and confirmed, this time so "Mike" could see, that it was OK for us to sit at a half-empty bar. (In retrospect, we should have gotten up and walked out immediately, but it was late and even in the Quarter most places were closing for dinner.) You see, Mike clearly didn't want to be working that night. He was rude, inattentive, and condescending. And not just to us, to everyone seated at the bar. Slow making drinks, slow asking for orders, seething contempt for his customers. One time we asked to see a drink menu to decide on a new drink, he said, and this is a direct quote, "Do you want to see it or do you want to review it?" Mike's behavior was clearly well-known to the staff, because another staff member, who was off-shift and next to us at the bar, witnessed this behavior and arranged for a free dessert on the house (classy move on her part). She confided in us that Mike's pretty much always like that, but that he's a buddy of the general manager so seemingly un-fireable. Well, here's hoping someone reads this and thinks the better of Doris Metropolitan, or at least sitting at the bar. Unless you think service you'd get in a Paris tourist trap cafe is appropriate for a high-end steakhouse, you're better off spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.
