Our house is 58 years old and the cast iron drain pipes from both bathrooms and the main line were basically collapsing and disintegrating. This company is a total scam. They advertise free quotes on their website but they came to my house and charged us $125 for looking at the crawl space. They told my husband it was for diagnostics. Moreover, they had him sign a proposal and contract where they listed $125 for diagnostics. We specifically called and asked for a free quote. I wasn't home so he didn't know it was supposed to be free. NEVER call these guys unless you want to pay $125 for them looking at the problem. Even if they tell you they are coming out to give you a free quote! They are lying. Because that's exactly what happened to us. I called this company to remove a blockage from my kitchen drain. They arrived in a timely manner and got to work. After only a few minutes of snaking the drain the guy comes down from the roof and says my drain collapsed and I would need to replace my drain leading up to my main. I was shocked. He quickly mobilized his team to get me a quote. It would be about $9k to get this job done and about a week to complete the work. Needless to say I had to get a second opinion. I contacted a different plumber and I explained to him what I was told by these guys. He asked me where the other plumber snaked the line from and when I showed him where he tried to snake it from he just smiled and said that's not gonna work. He went in from the restroom and sure enough he was able to clear the blockage in a matter of minutes. Be careful when you have these guys come to your home. We have used Ali for any and all drain/plumbing needs and could not speak more highly of the service quality and response time. Most recently, after the crazy storm in SD in late Jan, our backyard drainage system was in bad shape (not draining, pooling a couple inches with a bit of seepage into the back of the house). Given the next crazy storm on its way (Feb 5th), we called Ali on Friday (Feb 3rd); he arrived within 45 minutes, accurately diagnosed the situation and long-term fix, and got to work immediately. By Sunday afternoon, he had dug up the concrete section of our outside drain line where extensive root intrustions had occured, replaced the pipe for the section, jetted the entire line (that had 100% root/dirt/etc blockage), and also connected the gutter (so it wouldn't drain outside next to the house). We are greatful for the service, and even though we hope to never need his help again, we are very appreciative that he and his team are just a call away whenever an emergency happens. read more

They fixed an issue with our sewer line that was a different size than the one from the city, so tree roots were getting in between creating blockages every few months. They were responsive to come and give an estimate and even they were almost certain of the root cause of the issue, they came back to do the scoping with the camera to confirm it so I would feel comfortable with the proposed estimate. They were here on time, excavated 10+ feet down, replaced the line with the correct sizing and covered it again. My husband was concerned about some of the reviews and changes in business name, we just directly asked Ali about it and instead of getting defensive or angry he offered reasonable explanations for those and offered references from work recently done. The service was priced well, below the other 3 competitors that responded. The plumber (Rafael) came exactly on time and quickly. He was able to fix my clog on my toilet, but during work, he dragged the toilet on the floor which I asked him not to since it could damage the floor. There appears to be no damage. He didn't drag it again after. Upon leaving, I told him that his vacuum was leaking(brown water) and he said "okay" and just left quickly which dripped water the whole path through my house. He said "sorry, I'll try and fix the vacuum" rather than helping to clean up his mess that he left. So, the 2 stars for the timing on service, the quality of the service of not having poop water dispersed through a house needs additional training which significantly drove the stars down. Would I use them again? Possibly if in an emergency due to the time it took. Also the plumber at the end quoted a higher price to pay than was originally discussed with the owner prior to. read more

I hate and love El Nino. San Diego needs the up coming rain but this gal doesn't exactly have a ton of discretionary money to spend on cleaning clogged storm drains. I've researched tons of drain companies and have been discouraged by the prices as well as the people on the other end of the line who seemed annoyed by questions that were being asked (by me). DrainHelp was courteous on the phone and had flexible hours (even as late as 6p). They give quotes over the phone but will also come in person to scope out the work as well. Ali came over recently to hydrojet our storm drains and all I can say is DAYUUMMMMM - it's A.L.O.T. of work. I thought you just shoved the 3000psi hydrojet into the pipe and bam - everything's cleaned out. I was thoroughly impressed with the man muscle that it took for Ali to clean out our clogged storm drains. When he finally got the hydrojet to snake to the yard, we literally had three black sewer smelling geysers shooting two feet in the air. It was amazing how much stuff was being pushed out by Ali using the hydrojet. The hydrojet loosens the roots and debris that's in the drains but ours required him to snake the drains as well. I think the snaking and the hyrojetting combined was the reason he was able to clean out the drains. We couldn't believe it when he showed us the drains now, well, DRAIN. The company offers a one year warranty (something alot of drain companies do not - trust me - I've researched) so that's comforting to have in your back pocket in case the drains back up again (I'll give an update if it does). DrainHelp isn't the cheapest but it definitely is not the most expensive. Ali worked hard on this job and we felt it was money worth spent for a much needed home maintenance expense. We were also grateful there was a yelp deal so make sure to look for that if it's still being offered. Also look on DrainHelp's website as they have some other discounts you can inquire about. So bring it El Nino. We're ready. read more

Ali cleared my kitchen drain in no time. Hydro jetted to the clean out, sink was backed up and now it drains better than ever before.

Due to their faulty work, our new vanity was ruined. There was a leak from sink drain they installed that leaked into our new vanity and warped the wood. When we contracted them, they were very rude and accusatory, and would not take any blame. The refund they promised was never fulfilled. 1000$ down the poorly installed drain. Drainhelp.com came out to do a toilet install and install the drain on a new vanity/sink. The toilet install seems fine but the drain assembly was very poorly done. No putty was used on the drain leaving a small drip, and one of the gaskets in the p trap was not tightened. The loose gasket was easily tightened by hand, but the leak went unchecked for a few days and ended up ruining the vanity. When i contacted them i was told that "it's not the plumbers fault" and was basically blamed for not inspecting their work. After a not friendly back and forth conversation i settled for a refund which i still have not received. After purchasing a new vanity and watching a 3 minute youtube video I was able to install the sink and drain which has remained leak free. Lesson learned is just because a "professional" does the work doesn't mean it's correct. always check people's work. The main reason for the bad review is i could never recommend a service that doesn't have the integrity to correct their mistakes. read more
