We are here two different times. The first time, we ordered to go and ate the food in the outside patio, which was a really nice option. I enjoyed sitting out there with my family enjoying the nightly bingo the hotel offers. The second time we ate at Dragon's Den was during their breakfast buffet, which was fun with my kids. We ordered a salad and truffle fries from the to go menu when we first dined there. The salad was nice and fresh and the candied pecans were plentiful and my favorite part of the salad. The truffle fries were also flavorful and a fun option. The breakfast buffet is a bit small, but it is enough for families with smaller kids. There are plentiful potato options between the hash browns and the tater tots, and the bacon is nice and crispy. I do wish there were more fruit options like mixed berries to go with the vanilla yogurt they offer. The monte cristo sandwich was a unique option that I don't see at many buffets. I will go back while my kids are young because the options appealed to them. read more

Our first meal on the LEGOLAND part of our vacay per son son's request. We stopped in for lunch and it was empty, probably because everyone is in the park. The order: Kids meal tenders, fries, and soft drinking. You can choose fries or fruit, we'd usually choose fruit but it was blend only with melon. Son son is allergic to melons, so he got lucky with fries today. Tenders were run of the mill and standard theme park flare. Fries are the thicker cut and slight crops outside and soft inside. Castle Burger - aka Half LB Deluxe Cheese Burger that they try to flair up with Horseradish Dijon Aioli, Flagship Cheese, & Artisan Bun. It's a massive burger, so was able to cut in half and share half with wifey. Overall it was an ok burger, I added bullseye bbq sauce to mine as I couldn't really taste their sauce. The downside of the meal drags it down......theme park pricing haha. $17 kids meal and $24 burger/fries. Expected but still woooooof haha. The staff were all friendly and waitress very attentive. The decor is medieval knights and wizards to match the theme of the hotel, with a Lego play area for the kiddos. read more

Our server Tori didn't even ask us what we wanted to drink for the kids meal, she straight up brought just water, when we asked if it comes with a drink she just said yeah what would you like. When we asked why she didn't ask us what drink we'd like, she said it says so on the menu. The food was fair. Pizza was meh, Mac n cheese was good, burgers were good. We're celebrating a birthday and we don't want to ask for any birthday treatment. Also wanted to order dessert but we lost the appetite to. This is the restaurant in the castle hotel. I went here for the breakfast buffet. We got nervous because I'd heard the line can be insane, but we didn't have to wait at all. There is a little play area in the front for kids if you do have to wait. The buffet itself is really big. There are lots of stations, though many have the same foods at them. There is something for everyone. The food is mediocre but I didn't expect much for a kids hotel buffet. I wish there were some Lego themed foods, like block waffles or something fun! Our waiter/waitress were both super nice, and the kiddos had a fun time trying all the food. read more

We all got burgers and every bite felt lifeless, like cafeteria food that had been sitting under a heat lamp. The ambiance is mid at most and service is not that memorable either. We came here for breakfast for the two days we stayed at the Castle hotel since it was included in our package and I'm so glad we did. It had some of the best 'free' breakfast dishes I've ever had at a hotel. First off, I would recommend getting a reservation. The line here gets long fast. And, make it an early reservation if you can because it seems like the rush, even with reservations, starts around 8am. We came in around 7:30 each day and basically had the place to ourselves for awhile which was great. Now, on to the food. Like I said, they had some great options. The first day they had a build your own breakfast taco area with some carnitas that really surprised me. I wish I had a ziplock or something with me so I could've taken it with me to much on throughout the day. It was that good. Outside of that, they had your standard fair: eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, the normal. That stuff was fine. I liked the French toast from day one but thought the pancakes from day two were just average. I wish they had larger to go cups for coffee and tea. We had long days at the park and a cup of caffeine to bring in & last awhile would have been nice. Oh well. The theming of the area is nice. They have som awesome builds throughout the dining area that I loved to examine on each trip to the food. I also love that all the tables had little games like checkers that the kids could play with Lego from the giant pool of them at the entrance. It did a good job of entertaining our kids while we continued to eat. We considered going back for dinner, but never made it. If we come back to the hotel, we might try it out. We made a dinner reservation at Dragon's Den located inside of the castle hotel after a fun day at LEGOLAND to celebrate our little one's birthday--his pick for pizza and dessert! Our 5:30 PM reservation gave us just enough time to finish a few rides and head over. We checked in around 5:25 PM, waited about ten minutes, and our son loved spending that time building with LEGO in the waiting area and conveniently having a restroom to wash up before dinner. The restaurant has a bright, family-friendly atmosphere--perfect for tired park-goers. The food was tasty, our son got pizza and fries, (later on dessert chocolate cake!) and we got burgers. The portions were good, and everything came out quickly even as the dinner rush kicked in. Overall, it was a great, convenient way to end the day. Good food, good service happy kid, and an easy walk from the park--what more could you ask for? read more

We ordered the truffle fried to share - it was a bit salty but the horseradish aioli was new to me and it was enjoyable! I ordered the dragon slayer burger and holyyyy! i wasnt expecting how big it was going to be. I ate half while I shared the other half with my husband. He got the pomdoro (?) pasta and that was good! Our family members got the castle bolognese, steak, and the holiday special that day. Overall good, but salty. We all got dessert- half of us got the ube cheesecake and the other half got the warm apple one. The ube cheesecake was okay - the sauce was okay.. but there were pop rocks on the top which was interesting. The apple dessert was delicious - it reminded me of the dutch apple crumble pie from julian and vanilla ice cream on top. If we were to go here again, we'd probably try something different just to get new experiences from the menu but the apple dessert was the best. Staff: The team here is really nice but especially nice was Alexis. He was a really friendly, attentive, and all around great. Quality: The food here was really good. We got the kids salmon, kids pizza, and Dragon Slayer burger. The pizza was tasty, the salmon was good and surprisingly flaky, and the burger ENORMOUS (like the biggest burger I've ever had). Value: On the high side but being at a hotel at an amusement park I would expect this. Overall: We were really happy with our dinner. It was nice that breakfast was included with our stay. The food was okayish. Better than dinner. There was an adult guest (probably in his late 50s) who came into the restaurant barefoot. Barefoot in a restaurant that has scrambled eggs on the floor. I mentioned it to a staff member as I was unsure if this was a health code violation. This restaurant is located inside the LEGOLAND Castle Hotel on the 1st floor, a stairway above the lobby. I gotta say, I commend those servers working through holidays! Lots of them are local students. This place exists mainly for the location and the all you can eat breakfast. The dinner was pleasant as well. NY Steak was great. Well cooked to request and thick enough to enjoy each bites. Breakfast here is what packs the place. It's all you can eat, and reminiscent of a school cafeteria. Screaming kids, tired parents lined up at the bar to get coffees, it gets pretty crazy before the LEGOLAND open up. Keeping up service must be hard in this chaos and the team usually pulls it off. In my case there was a heater malfunction that they were not aware of so outside seats were bone chilling cold. I had to move back into the building to dine. read more

The good It was really smart how they brought out the kids' food first then the adult food afterward. The kids got to eat and the adults got to help them and then the adults got to eat warm food. I got Cajun shrimp and sausage pasta, steak with mashed potatoes and broccolini and a kids pepperoni flatbread with a side of fruit. I loved the Lego pit in the restaurant that allowed kids to play and build things. There were also two folks who came in to do a little entertainment for the kids. Princess Lego also came by but just did a quick walk-thru. I liked how convenient it was to go to this restaurant from the hotel. There is a giant sleeping Lego dragon on the fireplace on the right of the restaurant. I loved all of the other Lego figures inside that were food related. The bad: My pasta was too salty. We ended up not finishing it. Our server never came to our table after getting our order. The steak was $35 and tasted like something I'd make at home (not interesting or particularly great). The interesting: You typically get charged to your hotel room tab. This might be why the waiter doesn't check up on you as often. We opted to pay there upfront. read more

We ate here every morning of our 3-day stay and by the 3rd day were getting tired of eating the same things over and over again (literally, nothing changed day by day). While some day to day variation would have been appreciated, the food is cooked well and quality is well maintained. They also do a decent job at bussing the tables regularly so we didn't have finished plates sitting around for too long. The food is ok. You're paying for convenience to eat right next to the park entrance. But that's a bad thing too. The breakfast buffet is your typical eggs and bacon breakfast. There are some other things like carnitas and tortillas. They had some other Mexican options. Again food quality was ok The way things are organized is that it makes for long lines and people pushing around to get things. Like the line covers the drink machine. We stayed at the Legoland Hotel and had the chance to dine at Dragon's Den for both breakfast and dinner during our trip. Breakfast Breakfast was included with our stay, and I came in expecting the usual basic continental offerings--but was pleasantly surprised. The buffet spread was great, with something for everyone: breads, muffins, eggs, sausage, bacon, cereals, granola, DIY breakfast tacos, French toast, biscuits and gravy, chocolate milk, juices, tea, coffee... I'm probably forgetting a few things. The taste overall was around 4.25/5, but considering it was a complimentary hotel breakfast, it was genuinely impressive. A great way to fuel up before a long day in the park. Dinner For dinner, I came in with low expectations, assuming it would be your typical touristy kid-focused hotel fare. It ended up being a decent experience. Here's what we ordered: * Grilled Chicken Sandwich - 3/5. It was a bit dry and lacked flavor. * Enchanted Forest Roots & Greens Salad - 4.5/5. My wife really enjoyed this one--fresh, well-balanced, and nicely presented. * Chicken Strips with Fresh Fruit (kids' meal) - 4/5. Our daughter ate a good portion of it without much coaxing, which is always a win. * Medieval Sling (cocktail) - 1.5/5. Disappointing. It had alcohol, but not much else going for it. What a joke of a place. We had a dinner reservation and were taken to a dirty, uncleaned table. If no one bothers to clean it, what's the point of having reservations? Waited 15 minutes just for someone to take our order, then another 45 minutes for the food. When it finally arrived, it was terrible -- the steak was completely overcooked. Thought breakfast the next morning might be better. Nope. Same receptionist seated us and gave us a visibly dirty chair. Basic cleanliness and service are clearly not a priority here. She really got a kick out of the mini surprise (I told them it was her birthday when she went to use the restroom) This is a kids theme park so expect a lot of noise and kids just destroying things in the play area. We walked in around 2:30pm to an almost entirely empty restaurant. The host still gave us a bit of weirdness about not having a reservation. We were seated and waited 5+ minutes with no one acknowledging us. I eventually walked up to the bar to ask if we were supposed to place our order there since we hadn't even seen a server. They said no, "your server will be with you shortly." We eventually ordered from their very small, very non-exciting and very pricey menu. The food arrived and was nothing short of disgusting. I am baffled by how anybody could leave this place more than a 1- or 2-star review. I ordered a $24 salad which consisted of lettuce, tomatoes, candied nuts and red onion. It came on a very small side salad-sized plate, so off the bat a chuckled in disdain at how they get away with charging $24 for this salad. Then I took a bite. I don't even know how it's possible to make this combination of ingredients inedible but they somehow pulled it off. I'm pretty sure it was the nasty dressing they drowned it in. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich that was likewise disgusting. The least offensive thing that we ordered were the chicken fingers for one of my kids. We paid $140 for lunch that was easily one of the worst food experiences I've had in years, including at airports, on airplanes, etc. Shortly after we ate I saw other hotel guests had DoorDashed food delivery. Listen the food is decent, service is always great and I rather eat here than inside with the crowds looking for tables. I love LEGOLAND and when your a pass hold member you get discounts so can't go wrong making a reservation here, eating at peace, kids can go play while we eat, and like I said the food is actually really good so it's a win win. read more

Stayed here Thursday-Sunday We had dinner the first night. I got the cheeseburger which was good and huge! They all have two patties. The bf got the chicken Alfredo which he enjoyed and finished fast! Kids got penne bolognese sauce and broccoli They both enjoyed it and it came with plenty of sauce! Breakfast Fri-sun: pretty basic egg, bacon sausage. There was also cereal, yogurt and oatmeal stations. Fri and Sunday had pancakes while Saturday they switched it up and had French toast. I enjoyed the chilaquiles which they had Friday and Saturday. Definitely a good a heavy breakfast to get you ready for your day. Lots of options for the Buffett Service: not much to say. They say us and only came around clearing plates off the table. Ambiance: typical diner. There is a pit of legos for the kids to play in and a shelf where kids displayed their legos. There was a lot of different guns made Some parents just let their kids go crazy there. Two siblings were literally fist fighting and scratching one another for a good 3 minutes. read more

We got a reservation the same day on open table and we got there 30 mins early and they were able to accommodate us early. We got the crab cakes as our appetizer (2 cakes per order) 10/10! Really great flavor and crab amount. My 4 year old got the pizza flatbread kids meal and my 6 year old got the kids entree with salmon and rice. This is the restaurant at the Legoland Castle hotel. Breakfast is included for hotel guests, and is basically your standard breakfast buffet with some Mexican options too. Dinner is okay, kids like it - there is a big Lego pit for them to play in while waiting, the food is passable, and they have several beers on tap and even cocktails if you are an adult and have just about had your fill of kiddie paradise. Mostly, you are here for convenience if you are staying here, and that is what you get. Elevated prices, not horrible if you have an annual pass discount. read more

We took my grandson to Legoland on Christmas Day. We had a reservation at Dragon's Den for lunch before going into the park. We were seated right away and noticed the place was empty. We kept noticing lots of people waiting for a table. Come to find out there was only one server for the whole restaurant because of the holiday. The restaurant should've planned a lot better! Only reservations were being seated and everyone else had to wait and were seated only when a reservation left. Service was slow! I can't blame our server though. She was doing the best she could under the circumstances. The food was mediocre. I think we probably would've had better food in the actual park. I do love the play area with all the legos. The entertainment was very cool as a king and queen came out in the evening to talk to the kids while children played in the Lego pit. Dinner was good. I had the castle burger and it was huge. Firstly, the restaurant has a dinner menu which I prefer over buffet style meals, and plenty of healthy options. My daughter really enjoys salmon so she was excited to see a kids plate of salmon , rice , and broccoli. I ate the grilled chicken sandwich on a brioche bun with a side salad. And I have to say I was surprised at how amazing these dishes were. The flavor was so good and the quality was amazing! My daughter's salmon was cooked perfectly and everything else was perfect. It was so good we came back the next day and we both got salmon plates, as they have it for adults as well! Our servers on both nights were kind as well and frequently checked on us throughout our stay at the restaurant. The staffs here has to be the most incompetent people in the world. I was at the pool area with my girls and since that grill is closed off season I had to come here to order my food. It was no problem at all until I encountered a whole crew of incompetent staffs. I went to the front to order to-go they said to go to the bar. I went to the bar and placed an order for mac & cheese with some fries. An hour passed and I still didnt get the order. I noticed there were only 3 other tables in the entire restaurant and one party happened to have come after us. I asked one of the waiter and he said he would get my waiter even after I said it was a to go order and I am just sitting here with my 2 daughters. Manager popped in and out. And after another 15 mins I caught him to ask him about my order and he said it was sent to the front for to go orders. NO ONE ever told me to wait in the front for my order when I simply waited right in front of the person I had placed my order. Anyone with common sense would realize there was a few people just sitting in front of them twiddling their thumbs and waiting for an order. My advice for management is to train these people to read the room, teach them a little common sense or fire them because they are not smarter than a goldfish. read more

We came here recently for a family vacation to Legoland. From an ambience perspective, it feels very much like a cafeteria on the set of the legendary Nickelodeon show, Wild and Crazy Kids...i mean it was a little chaos. The service was pretty solid and the food was actually much better than expected. The whole family ate happily - of course amongst the 100 overtired/hungry screaming kids. Id recommend going here only if you are staying at the hotel. The breakfast was super convenient and lots of choices. Get a reservation as this place is very busy. read more

The restaurant is the only one at the castle hotel. So it's very convenient for those staying there and coming from the theme park. If you're not staying here, I wouldn't recommend it. Save your money and time. It would be nice to have crayons and kids menus to entertain children while the food is ready. They have a Legos pool at the entrance for children to wait while your table is ready. Thumbs up! We booked this place without knowing anything, but based on what we read on the description from Legoland app QUOTE "With an open kitchen for guests to watch chefs preparing their food, locally sourced food, entertainers, LEGO® themed decor and tasty seafood, pasta and steak options...it's a unique dining experience unlike anything else. " UNQUOTE We didn't see any chef preparing any food. They said we will have "an experience" and other than dinning on a theme restaurant, we didn't experience nothing special. The kids got hamburger with fries, cheese pizza and cup of fruit (basically melon and grapes). Chicken tenders look good too. For adults we got the steak and chicken pesto pasta, I personally wanted then Cajun pasta with shrimps, but they ran out of Cajun. Again, servers are kind and friendly. read more

If you find yourself at Legoland overnight, get in to the Dragon's Den and get yourself a steak and a glass of pinot post-haste! It's surprisingly above average and the prices are very reasonable. They actually had a big screen TV showing an NBA game to offset the kids/Legoland extravaganza atmosphere so I thought that was nice. Our server was super sweet and checked on us often. We have stayed at Legoland for 2 years now and when you stay at The Castle, you get free breakfast buffets at Dragon's Den. This is super convenient especially if you're staying on the property. We also make it an effort to have dinner 1 time during our weekender stay. The breakfast buffet is pretty decent. There are a variety of hot plate items (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, etc.), cereal bar, coffee bar, and breakfast drinks. The food is always replenished and seems fresh. The times we have eaten for breakfast have been early mornings (around 8am) and yes it's busy but if you make reservations for a later time, the more its busier. It does take a while to get your table bussed, but we just put our used plates, etc., to the side and it's not a big deal. For dinner, my husband and I ordered the steak and salmon for 2 years now. The salmon is pretty darn good considering! It was moist and the salmon skin was crispy. I squeezed the herb lemon with butter and it was delicious. My husband enjoyed his steak, although I thought it was a bit chewy since I don't care for NY steak much. The sides on the steak (veggie and potatoes) were ehhh. My sides were rice and veggie and they were good. These dinners were about $30/each. The kids dinner run about $12. My kids ordered the chicken strips and mac n cheese. They were pretty standard. Our service was good and we sat by the TV so that the kids were distracted enough to have our dinner warm. Overall a pretty decent place to eat onsite. read more

It's probably as good or a little better than the best cut of steak at Outback Steakhouse . 2) burgers are not the juicy greasy kind, but it was meaty. Bacon was crunchy at the right spots. Buns weren't dry. 3) bruschetta burrata appetizer I highly recommend this! The bruschetta is slices of colorful heirlooms and there was plenty of burrata 4) waiters were friendly and food was brought out by kitchen staff to ensure your happy with your food. Pro tip: - get the Togo bags! It's a nice souvenir and really good quality bag (see photo attached) . It's a great souvenir or you can use it as a birthday bag lol - just outside of the restaurant your kids can enjoy the hotel amenities without staying there ! Outdoor movie theatre, playground , indoor lego pits , character interaction , and more.
