We arrived at 6:45 and a staff member with a golf kart met us (after calling them on the radio), showed us to our parking spot, pushed the plane back AND tied it down for us while getting our luggage to the gate. It was incredible. The FBO staff were super helpful in giving me the number to a few mechanics (spark plugs needed cleaning) on the field and even offered us some water. Parking is $15/day, but they were incredibly sweet to waive our fees for the entire 3 days with a top off. Usually they only waive one day with a 20 gallon purchase, but they were super nice to us! Getting to DC from this airport isn't too bad. You can take a Lyft/Uber directly to DC for about $40-45 (about a 35minute ride) or take a bus/taxi/Uber to the train station ($~10-15 for the taxi) and then take the train into DC($5). All in all, until I get the FRZ requirements out of the way to fly into College Park, I'll be sure to return to Montgomery if going to DC. They provided amazing service. There is also a diner right at the airport with has decent lunch and you can watch the planes taking off as you eat. Seems like a lot of locals go there.

He always mentioned he wanted to get his flying license one day, so it was a good gift. I'm so rad. It was cold as a witch's teat and the winds were high. Our instructor was super affable and knowledgeable too. I had my camera ready and was set to snap pictures from the ground when the instructor asked me if I'd like to fly along. I was scared, to be honest, since Welshie was manning the plane, but the instructor has full control as well. It was a stomach-dropping, squeal-inducing, 20-minute flight and it was quite freeing. I did think I was going to die, though. Our instructor even said that the winds were so bad that he was going to cancel the rest of his lessons. Nice. Overall, it's a great little airpark and learning to fly is awesome. It's not cheap if you want to get your license--you're probably looking at about $10K when it's all said and done. I highly recommend trying it out at least once, though.

Now they are putting up surveillance systems aganst Teenage Take overs where they are in a rampage not bejbg in Schol at and hanging where kids are jit allowed at . Its ruining the reputation od good customers there . But im glad improvements are being made . This place has now two parking structures one at the station and ine across the street . It includes elevators to take uou into the metro train areas . They even have apps such as Metro bus or ride on bus app or ateansit app to know schedules to buses or trains there . You can use their QR CODES on theie ads to do them . They eben allow people like Jehovahs witnesses to solicit their materials there to know communities there . But now the bus stops have all new buses and schedules then the old ways anymore . But im getting used to them with time . But my explorations aboard metro buses and ride ons are far ftom over . This is "my" stop. I do not live in Washington, D.C., but I did for more than a decade before…read moremoving on, and, as importantly, my elderly father still lives on his own in the Maryland suburbs. So I am still in the area, this specific neighborhood, just about every month. This is the closest mass transit station, and I probably have used it a dozen times in the past year. All of that is to say I am familiar with it. I am not a daily commuter though. I write for three reasons. The first is to praise the design of this system. Brutalism is a terrible style of architecture. However lovely it is in Instagram pictures, it does not work for users, and the name itself would suggest an attitude toward people. But the Metro system is not like office plazas. Massed concrete is aesthetically appropriate, even pleasing, for this usage. These are modern cathedrals (not an original thought of mine as to train terminals; as a college freshman, I took a seminar about the beauty of engineering). The deeply coffered ceilings above the platforms, the incredibly long escalators, and, in this instance, that circular antechamber all give this location a dignity you might not associate with getting large numbers of people on and off the Red Line tracks. The second is to note this specific venue is, if not unique, at least unusual (I detest the abuse of "unique," which means one of a kind -- I don't know how many other stops of the DC Metro or any system are like this, but I doubt this is the only). It straddles a border. You can enter/exit on the city side or the suburban side. These are officially different legal jurisdictions. That's just neat. For my purposes, I almost always, unless I'm turned around, need to head into Maryland. The third is to express positive feelings about the neighborhood. I am biased and self interested. I acknowledge that. One should. But this is a livable residential part of the capitol. I have traveled to various capitols. DC is my favorite, and that is not only because I am an American; DC is easy to get around in, even for tourists, and it is eminently suited to middle class families being able to raise children there, which is not true of so many of its counterparts elsewhere. Friendship Heights, in particular the Village (Maryland side), is close enough to downtown to allow easy access, but distant enough for easygoing day to day activities. They say the Village is the single most densely populated municipality in the nation, ahead of New York City even, due to it being a handful of high rise condos packed into such tight quarters.

Ok, I'm finally getting around to reviewing Metro stations. This is a deep station like many on…read morethis end of the Red Line. The platforms are pretty run of the mill Metro platforms. Normally it's pretty clean. Once you take the long-ish escalator ride up away from the tracks, you end up in a covered area where the buses are. This area has a tiny Dunkin Donuts if you need a snack or coffee. As you head to the next set of escalators, there is a water feature (not quite a waterfall) that comes down into the station area from the surface. Nice to have a natural sounds in a very urban area. Once you get up onto the surface, you're at the corner of Old Georgetown Rd and Wisconsin Ave near several hotels and a Starbucks (in case Dunks wasn't your cup of tea). Pretty central to a of businesses and restaurants. All in all, this station is convenient and central to downtown Bethesda.

From there, you are located near the National Mall, Smithsonian Museums, White House, Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln monuments. Also, near the WW II and the Vietnam Wall memorials. The station is equipped for ADA via elevator near the main entrance and has ramps to the platforms. The elevator may have enough room for 4-5 people or 1 ADA Wheel or electric chair and two others. The trains are nice and clean. Not like other stations in other cities. Price is comparable to other cities dreaming from $2.50 -$6.75 depending the time and stop you are heading too. Use your phone, CC, or Smartcard you can purchase from the Metro. Also, you can plan your trip, purchase and schedules from their website @ https://wmata.com I highly recommend to use the site. Epic escalators! They are about 100' -150' deep before you get to the kiosk stations. Have a fun trip!

It's rather easy to get to from route 50 and it has an outdoor parking lot. There is currently a lot of construction there, so the parking lot is a lot smaller than normal. Luckily, when I have gone, it hasn't been crowded. But I can't help but Wonder how folks fight for parking spaces during the work commute. The station itself is just fine. It has three escalators -- one to go into the station and go through the gates, and two to go to either side of the platform to go to either New Carrollton or Vienna. It's convenient that I live somewhere that has access to so many stations for my different needs riding to the city.

I tested the waters by writing him an (English) email requesting an itinerary for an upcoming multi-country trip, detailing my numerous travel preferences in an anal fashion. To my astonishment, it was only minutes before a reply appeared in my inbox. Within the email was a spectacular itinerary to which I love dearly and could not have put together so well myself in such small amount of time. A few minutes later another email followed with a few concerns over how I wanted to fly in to one side of a country and leave from my specified airport that's on the the opposite end of the same said country. (I had plans to take the train across the country but forgot to mention it in my initial email) Fantastic attention to details.
