Sky view from level 5d of the garage!

Convenient Red Line Metro station with access from Glenallen and Layhill Road. Just off Georgia , so hard to miss. The first few floors of the garage are usually full by 7:30am during the weekdays. Many of the spots on the first few levels are reserved for monthly pass holders so don't park in those spots or risk getting a ticket (or worse, towed).

Parking garage staff are too lazy and very rude. Everywhere else was fine and we're helpful.

So happy to find a parking space at 8:30am this Wednesday morning. The station seemed clean to me.

It was great - parking was easy, made my first Metro card purchase with the kind assistance of a Metro guy. Hate ports potties.

Ask the Community - Glenmont Metro Station

Technically this station doesn't offer multi-day/overnight parking. Does anyone know the penalty if you do park overnight or a few days at the station?

I wouldn't risk it! I called Metro to ask about this very question, and they wouldn't give me a straight answer.

I he trains usually leave on time and since it's the last stop off the Red Line/first stop heading into DC, it's rarely crowded.

Bus stop is right around corner and running every 5-10min. Across the street is shopping center inc doller tree and 7-11 and Dunkin etc. You can spend time around this neighborhood too. Try to take 46 to rose ave. They have a new town and explore the modern neighborhood. Spring and summer is the best to be at this location. Nice winds come and go. weekend fair is $2.50! I would end up passing White Flint Metro Station to get to New York Avenue which is now called North Of Massachusetts Avenue/Galludet . When I wasn't working, I would take the Redline and get of at White Flint Metro Station. Walking to White Flint Mall would be one stop. Another would be to Tina's Nails for a massage, manicure and pedicure. She had the best prices for manicure and pedicure. The massage was a bit on the pricy side. There even use to be a Blockbuster Music store near White Flint Metro Station. This store that once held Blockbuster Music has now changed owners so many times, I have lost count. Across from the White Flint Metro Station is a McDonald's . There is staircase going under road to avoid traffic. Redline Metro has had the least amount of problems that I saw when taking the subway. This is not to say I wasn't pissed when the trains malfunctioned and made me late for work many times. Nevertheless, riding the redline from Rockvile to NOMA was almost always fun.

From there, you are located near the National Mall, Smithsonian Museums, White House, Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln monuments. Also, near the WW II and the Vietnam Wall memorials. The station is equipped for ADA via elevator near the main entrance and has ramps to the platforms. The elevator may have enough room for 4-5 people or 1 ADA Wheel or electric chair and two others. The trains are nice and clean. Not like other stations in other cities. Price is comparable to other cities dreaming from $2.50 -$6.75 depending the time and stop you are heading too. Use your phone, CC, or Smartcard you can purchase from the Metro. Also, you can plan your trip, purchase and schedules from their website @ https://wmata.com I highly recommend to use the site. Epic escalators! They are about 100' -150' deep before you get to the kiosk stations. Have a fun trip!

Normally it's pretty clean. Once you take the long-ish escalator ride up away from the tracks, you end up in a covered area where the buses are. This area has a tiny Dunkin Donuts if you need a snack or coffee. As you head to the next set of escalators, there is a water feature (not quite a waterfall) that comes down into the station area from the surface. Nice to have a natural sounds in a very urban area. Once you get up onto the surface, you're at the corner of Old Georgetown Rd and Wisconsin Ave near several hotels and a Starbucks (in case Dunks wasn't your cup of tea). Pretty central to a of businesses and restaurants. All in all, this station is convenient and central to downtown Bethesda.
