I just passed my Private Pilot checkride, and I cannot speak highly enough of Pilot in Training. If…read moreyou are looking for high-quality flight instruction where safety, thoroughness, and real mentorship come first, this is the school to choose. While it is slightly smaller than some of the high-volume pilot mills, that is precisely its greatest strength. It has a welcoming, family feel where you never feel like just another number. The aircraft are exceptionally well maintained, and the online scheduling system makes reserving aircraft and lesson slots seamless and straightforward. Slava, the owner, is constantly engaged, approachable, and always available to consult, answer questions, or help out whenever needed. Above all, the safety culture here is uncompromising. There is never any pressure to fly in marginal weather or push personal minimums--decisions are always grounded in sound aeronautical decision-making. The instructor corps is top-tier. These aren't CFIs who are merely logging flight time for their airline applications; they are true educators who are patient, professional, and deeply committed to developing sharp, competent pilots. The school generally prioritizes pairing you with a single primary instructor for consistency, but due to my own scheduling timeline and taking a break, I had the unique benefit of flying with several CFIs over time. Every single one of them was outstanding. Huge shout-out to Omer, Anders, Brandon, Mike, and Chris--each brought incredible perspective and insight that made me a significantly stronger, more confident pilot. Passing my checkride was the culmination of an incredible journey, and Pilot in Training was the cornerstone of that success. Highest recommendation.

My friend and I came here and we filled out all our consent forms and gave them the Groupon code. Then they took us to the back and explained everything to us. In the plane, you basically sit shotgun while the experienced professional flies the plane into the air to a safe altitude and then they give you control. Flying the actual plane was such an amazing experience. It felt scarier than skydiving to me. The instructor let's you fly for about 20-30 minutes and then he takes you down to the location. He also lands the plane. It apparently gets added to your flight hours if you were planning on becoming licensed. This is a once in a lifetime experience that I high encourage you try. I don't regret it in the slightest and the staff here make you feel safe.

I highly recommend Dream Flight School if you're looking to obtain your PPL or IFR certificate. The planes used are clean and well maintained, some are even being updated with the newest technology. Additionally KDMW Airport is clean, and the Skytech staff are friendly. It's always nice to have the people fueling your planes encourage your progress -- just adds to the overall experience at Dream Flight School!

BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport - SW has a lot of flights here

Security was especially impressive -- we went straight through without removing shoes, belts, or pulling laptops out because the new scanners handle everything with much better accuracy. It made the whole process faster and less stressful. Inside the terminal, the biggest thing they still need is more service‑style restaurants. There are plenty of fast‑food spots, but not enough places where you can sit down and be served. We chose Silver Diner for that reason, and it ended up being a great choice. Good service, good food, and a calm break from the airport rush.

It's not there just yet, as most of the public and gate areas are still in need of updates and refreshes, but the areas they have improved, especially the restrooms in the terminals, is a step in the right direction for sure. I usually utilize BWI when I can get a good direct on Southwest, and my latest visit here was because just that...I was headed ti San Diego and there were no directs from DCA, so I traveled the 45 minutes to BWI to make it happen. Drop off here is pretty standard, as is security. Neither had delays or craziness, but I also flew in a Thursday morning. I gave myself more than enough time, which actually turned out to be more than needed. The airport is massive, but flows well from concourse to concourse. Moving sidewalks, wide terminal hallways and clear directional signage help. There are plenty of shopping and dining options throughout BWI, and each terminal/concourse is equipped with a few options, but if you don't like any of them, the other terminals are a few minutes away. I was flying out of B, but dined in C. Only issues, that I know they will solve eventually, is the gate areas. They need an update and some of them need an update in flow. Overall, BWI is a decent airport and checks all the boxes needed when traveling to or from the area!
