When he became my instructor, I was struggling with explaining things, which was a huge problem for the Checkride. It took some time, but Osher helped me build up my confidence, believe in myself, and not to be scared, things that helped me outside of flying and eventually led me to succeeding my Checkride. He believed in me more than I could believe in myself. Even on the day of the checkride, I was so worried, but thanks to him talking to me and really believing in me, I ended up passing. All thanks to him. Osher cares about his students more than most people, always going above and beyond, even with things that are not related to flying. Every time I needed help with something, he was the first person I would go to, even stuff outside of flying. He's not just an instructor, he's a friend. During our flights, Osher always pushed me to do my best, but he never pushed too much. On every flight, he made sure that I felt comfortable that I could always tell him when I reached my limits for the day and wanted to head back, never making me feel bad about my decisions. There is so much more I can say about Osher, so many amazing things. I can't recommend him enough as an instructor, and I really wish I could continue with him for my instrumental. He really cares about every single student. Even after I passed my PPL, he's still there, helping when I need him, caring. He's the best of the best of the best.

This day was a bit busier than our previous visit as they were behind in discovery flights. Our time was 1:30pm our instructor came to begin the briefing at 1:54, guess it's really like an actual airport in training lol. (They do have scheduled chartered flights, pilot training etc, which shouldn't have much impact on discovery flights) Good experience overall will use them again

From my very first discovery flight, I knew I was in the right place. My instructor, Jan (CFII), was incredible--he is really a great guy, highly experienced, patient, and always made me feel at ease. His great sense of humor was an added bonus! The owner, Slava, is also a great guy and genuinely cares about each student's progress. He was always flexible and responsive. I also had stage checks with Jeremy and Dost, who were both excellent instructors and added to the solid training I received. The academy's professionalism, organization, and strong emphasis on safety gave me the confidence I needed to ace my checkride. I am now continuing my Instrument Rating (IFR) training with them. If you're considering flight training, I highly recommend Pilot in Training Flight Academy.

Both CFIs were extremely knowledgeable and invested in my success. Jan was particularly very good at drilling maneuvers and procedures into me so that they were second nature by the time of examination. Special mention to Bobby also, who helped me become a safer pilot by picking apart some of my weak areas during stage checks. Lastly, Slava is a great flight school owner - being very attentive and responding fast to emails and other concerns. He made me feel very welcome, even buying me lunch on one occasion! If you want to become a pilot or take a discovery flight, look no further than Pilot in Training Flight Academy!

One of the best FBOs I've flown into; highly recommend flying into Montgomery if you plan on going…read moreto DC (and can't get into College Park). They are open until 7pm most weekdays, so if you want service...make sure you get here before 7pm. We arrived at 6:45 and a staff member with a golf kart met us (after calling them on the radio), showed us to our parking spot, pushed the plane back AND tied it down for us while getting our luggage to the gate. It was incredible. The FBO staff were super helpful in giving me the number to a few mechanics (spark plugs needed cleaning) on the field and even offered us some water. Parking is $15/day, but they were incredibly sweet to waive our fees for the entire 3 days with a top off. Usually they only waive one day with a 20 gallon purchase, but they were super nice to us! Getting to DC from this airport isn't too bad. You can take a Lyft/Uber directly to DC for about $40-45 (about a 35minute ride) or take a bus/taxi/Uber to the train station ($~10-15 for the taxi) and then take the train into DC($5). All in all, until I get the FRZ requirements out of the way to fly into College Park, I'll be sure to return to Montgomery if going to DC. They provided amazing service. There is also a diner right at the airport with has decent lunch and you can watch the planes taking off as you eat. Seems like a lot of locals go there.

He always mentioned he wanted to get his flying license one day, so it was a good gift. I'm so rad. It was cold as a witch's teat and the winds were high. Our instructor was super affable and knowledgeable too. I had my camera ready and was set to snap pictures from the ground when the instructor asked me if I'd like to fly along. I was scared, to be honest, since Welshie was manning the plane, but the instructor has full control as well. It was a stomach-dropping, squeal-inducing, 20-minute flight and it was quite freeing. I did think I was going to die, though. Our instructor even said that the winds were so bad that he was going to cancel the rest of his lessons. Nice. Overall, it's a great little airpark and learning to fly is awesome. It's not cheap if you want to get your license--you're probably looking at about $10K when it's all said and done. I highly recommend trying it out at least once, though.

My friend and I came here and we filled out all our consent forms and gave them the Groupon code. Then they took us to the back and explained everything to us. In the plane, you basically sit shotgun while the experienced professional flies the plane into the air to a safe altitude and then they give you control. Flying the actual plane was such an amazing experience. It felt scarier than skydiving to me. The instructor let's you fly for about 20-30 minutes and then he takes you down to the location. He also lands the plane. It apparently gets added to your flight hours if you were planning on becoming licensed. This is a once in a lifetime experience that I high encourage you try. I don't regret it in the slightest and the staff here make you feel safe.
