I bought a Groupon to surprise my partner for his birthday with a discovery flight through PAA. I contacted the company after buying the Groupon, and from there, everything went very smoothly. They helped me keep it a surprise, as well as stayed in communication about everything leading up to it. The discovery flight was an awesome experience for my partner and the instructor, Fernando, was really chill and great to work with. I would really recommend this business for the discovery flight!

That instructor's unfamiliarity with several of the FARs was disappointing. Eventually I went over to two other schools on the field and they would provide instruction. I have nearly 800 flight hours and they would not fly with me because my 3rd class medical had expired. You do not need a medical, current or otherwise, to receive instruction. Additionally, to fly UAS (drones) or Light Sport (LSA) using private pilot privileges, you do not need a current medical, only a flight review. There is nothing in the FARs that requires a medical for a flight review. However, it is required to exercise the privileges as a pilot in command of a standard category, LSA, or UAS. If you are flying standard category aircraft you need the medical. I had contacted the FSDO (FAA) and AOPA Pilot Protection program to confirm and the instructor would still not fly with me or do my flight review. I did get FAA and AOPA legal interpretation of the FARs. This wasn't a disagreement over the insurance or the preference of the instructor BUT over the FARs, which P--- should have known. Understandably, the school has to support their instructor even if they are wrong. They would not allow me to fly their aircraft or with their instructors. I walked to two other schools on the field, talked to their instructors, and have flown with 4 of the instructors at those other schools. This is an older review (~2 years) that disappeared. If the Dir/Ops wasn't nice it would be 0 stars if I could.

My instructor, Jan (CFII), was incredible--he is really a great guy, highly experienced, patient, and always made me feel at ease. His great sense of humor was an added bonus! The owner, Slava, is also a great guy and genuinely cares about each student's progress. He was always flexible and responsive. I also had stage checks with Jeremy and Dost, who were both excellent instructors and added to the solid training I received. The academy's professionalism, organization, and strong emphasis on safety gave me the confidence I needed to ace my checkride. I am now continuing my Instrument Rating (IFR) training with them. The aircraft are clean, well maintained and comfortable. They decided to stick with mainly Socata planes because of their comfort and handling characteristics. The management is incredibly detail oriented and I am always left feeling like I haven't missed a thing when I go back for some recurrent training or practice work. If you are looking to fly, do yourself a favor and at least check 1World out to compare. Once I discovered them, I wished I had found them sooner.

These are not old beat up inexpensive 172s but really nice Cirrus aircraft, comparable to a new Cessna 172 or 182. These have aircraft parachutes (CAPS). They also are a little more expensive but comparable with other schools in large metro areas One of the instructors, Buck, was really funny and has a unique ability to train. Also, he doesn't believe burning time on the ground (20-30 minutes) trying to teach the G-1000 to new students like another school on field would do. There are less expensive computer programs and ground trainers.

I read reviews on Google prior to switching from another flight school since it was so convenient. BIG mistake. Most reviews were from many years ago and were pretty good. That is no longer the case. My daughter spent 7 months there working on obtaining her PPL. I went and expressed we needed to be done a few months later and started flying more to be able to be complete. Two months later when I called the instructor multiple times to see when she could take the FAA exam I got no response. I sent notes with my child and still had no response. When I took her log book back to where we started, I found out that she basically didn't progress at all, had not had any instruction in basic areas needed for PPL, and had no solo time although she had completed a solo prior to starting there. She logged in over 60 hours of flight time over the 40 she already had. A complete waste of thousands of dollars!

I have been working towards my Commercial Pilot License ever since. I was able to fly 2-3 times a week with Marty and was elated when I was able fly my first solo, then cross country, and was eventually able to pass my private pilot license with just over the minimum hours. I did a lot of self study; however, Freeway is such an open environment for students with questions, I do not think I would have had the same success otherwise. Any time I had a question about something, or didn't understand, Marty, Joel, or any of the instructors were more than happy to help answer my question without talking down to me, esp being one of the few girls in entering the industry. I cannot speak more highly of this learning environment, knowledge of the instructors, and general awesomeness of Freeway.

I do not own any flying device nor can I fly without the aid of one. I looked into prices on planes and jet packs, I was a bit dissapointed. I am not wealthy and cannot afford one. After a few days in the club it became obvious that I could not propel myself through the air my any means, so I left the club in shame. I like the idea of a flying club but unless you are rich or have the super ability of flight or inherited a flying machine, I wouldn't bother joining.

As a lifelong atheist, I never saw any particular point in attending weekly services, and I didn't feel that I was lacking in community. I started attending WES because a friend of mine was explaining the benefits she saw in church attendance for her daughter, and I realized that I thought it would be good for the kids to be part of a multi-generational community with shared values. What really grabbed me about WES is the great platform addresses (what might be sermons in a Christian church) given by Amanda, the clergy leader. She is a hoot! Dealing with the event coordinators was horrific. Not only were they unorganized and rude, they took it upon themselves to help themselves to the food and drink. I would not recommend having a private event here.
