Highly recommend! Let's just get that out the way. I had such an amazing time I don't know where to…read morebegin. I am easily motion sick and not a fan of heights and my first attempt at jumping scared the daylight out of me but I did it and went back to try again. By the third jump I was excited to jump and wanted really hard to get the trick we were being taught. By the end of the class I felt like I was on my way to leveling up! Service The teachers were so patient and understanding, they went over and over everything until we were all comfortable. You are assigned a trainer and two additional people assist with teaching. Liz, Sampson and Isaiahs to be exact were so amazing I had to name them. Only two out of our group had flew before so we needed all their attention and they provided it! They encouraged us to come back and even reminded us we get a discount if we register within the 24 hr time period. Cost I was very pleased for the experience we received in comparison to the price. Very reasonable imo and very convenient when it came to scheduling dates. Location Located in Navy Yard suprsigly I was able to nab a spot directly in front and never had to look around. I booked the 6pm class which may have played a factor with the parking.

FLYING TRAPEZE It's pretty intimidating to climb all the way…read moreup to the top and stand on that platform and jump for the first time. But you get used to it after awhile because depending on the size of the class, you could end up jumping 6-8 times. Toward the end I was getting really tired and my arms were feeling like jello and wanted to give out. When you go for the swinging catch you really have to stretch your body and reach for the other person. Unfortunately, I didn't make the connection but with a few more sessions I feel that will be the natural next step. It's exhilarating and you leave feeling like a bad ass. BEGINNER SILKS CLASS This class was a lot harder than it looks - it does require some upper body strength, hand grip and balance. The instructor was very encouraging and demonstrated each move step by step. I only took one class but I'd be interesting in taking a series once it gets a little warmer out. I would recommend wearing long sleeves and pants because your body will rub with a lot of friction against the silks. I'm excited to continue to take both classes again and some of their additional unique offerings like the lyra (aerial hoop), trampoline and maybe even juggling classes!

Love this wonderful establishment for the joy, community, fitness, challenges, artistry,…read moreaccessibility and flexibility! While it may be a little strange to get to the location from the strange turn off Carlin Springs Road, then winding your way towards the back in between a church and some other fitness establishment, it is there, so go! They have recently changed the outside decor to have a welcoming, vibrant blue along the wall, so it is easier to find. What can one do here if you've never thought about any of the things they do here? That's up to you. I can only comment on what I've tried out, so far! The studio has plenty of evening classes during the week and a bunch on the weekends during the day and afternoon. Classes vary from stretching and flexibility to conditioning, including focusing on splits, backbends and handstands. They also of course focus on skills like dance trapeze, aerial trapeze, Lyra, silks, handstands, and rope. I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember. I like that the classes complement each other - so maybe go to a stretching/ flexibility class like splits and then go to a Lyra or aerial trapeze class. The classes have different levels, but you first would need to start at an introduction to ... class. There are 2 basic intro. classes - the introduction to hard apparatus (aerial trapeze and Lyra) and the introduction to soft apparatus (silks). They are 2 very different classes, but I guarantee you will feel all the physical demands of fitness by completing one of these classes. Once you complete one of those, you are free to sign up for level 1 classes of those respective apparatuses. Wondering how much stretching you should do before a class? Don't wonder, every class instructor builds in stretching to the class. So, if the class is 1 hour and 30 minutes, at least 10 minutes will help your body get ready for the class, and at least 5 minutes at the end to stretch out as well. For every class I've attended, the instructors are patient, knowledgeable, talented and creative. That means, for someone like me, who is challenged in knowing how to move body parts when I'm hanging upside down or what's forward vs backwards left vs right, they are super helpful to guide you. They are all also very respectful and will interact with you with your pronouns and your level of comfort in how you like to receive instruction. I am super impressed with how the instructors can reevaluate your abilities and needs and help you figure out how to do the things. It looks easy for the instructors/ coaches, but... it's definitely not easy for me, and they never hesitate to help and encourage me. I first started here because I was interested in aerial trapeze, but then I took a few Lyra classes and some silks. Then there were handstand classes, too. I am still most interested in aerial trapeze, but there is only 1 of those level 1 classes a week, and it books up! They do have open studio times for your practicing needs, so that's awesome. I love the silks classes, and there are more of the level 1 classes - they go up to level 3, wow! Handstands are currently once a week, but I've never seen all of the spots taken. It's a great class though! The parking is super easy, and it's free, so that's awesome. However, sometimes, it gets really busy - especially the weekends, but you can generally still find a spot. Try this out if you have any interest in aerial arts. You will love it and be challenged and will go back! See you at Monarca!

I really enjoyed my experience at the studio...until I wasn't able to sign up for my second class…read more I purchased two intro class from Groupon and was able to sign up for an intro to soft apparatus class with no problem. The instructor, Kat, was knowledgeable, engaging, welcoming and patient with everyone in the class! We started class with a 20-minute warm-up and then started with basic moves on the silks. We definitely enjoyed the class with Kat, but wanted to try the intro to hard apparatus class which includes working with the lyra and trapeze. Unfortunately, the studio has a 60 day policy to take your second class after taking your first class. This was not made clear to my two friends and I. We asked specifically after our first class if there was a time restriction to take our next class and was told there was no expiration for our second class. However, this was not the same message I received from the staff when I tried to email them to sign up for the second class. This policy is not listed on their website nor on the Groupon, making it very disappointing because we were excited to take another class. I would have highly recommended this studio if this problem was resolved, but the lack of customer service and ability to be flexible with their customers was disheartening.

The roads to get there feel very strange! That being said, I went here for some aerial fabrics classes. They have several levels, so you can find the Igor one based on your skill set. They also have Lyra and pole. They have a ton of kids classes. The studio is compact but they get the job done. The folks here are very nice and very welcoming. There are snacks and things if you need a quick before or after class pick me up. There is a little seating area before you get to class in the studio area. The bathrooms are very nice. The parking is a free lot with a few spots in front and more off to the side and back. I haven't had problems parking, but there is only one entrance into and exit from the lot. Anyhow, the class size for aerial fabrics is 6, so it's cozy. The classes are 1 hour, but it's a good amount to get stuff done. I kinda wish it were longer but appreciate the shorter time. They have individual and class packs, so that's up to you what you'd like to do. They are not pushy about classes or anything. Everyone is just super nice and helpful. I like his studio a lot! How do I give 6 stars? 7 stars? 100? Dan and JewelryClassDC deserve them, and more…read more I worked with Dan to make my engagement ring and it was an unforgettable experience. It can feel like a real leap of faith to do something so personal and important in such an unconventional way, and to put your trust in a stranger and in your own ability to learn something you have never even considered before--but I am so glad I took it. I have an experience I will remember for the rest of my life, my fiancée (she said yes of course!) has a beautiful, truly one-of-a-kind heirloom she adores and values beyond measure, and we have a story we will tell over and over again. She is already getting questions about where I found her ring, and her friends are already gushing about how amazed they are I made it. Honestly, I am amazed too. I wasn't sure I could make a ring that looked better than a beginner's craft project!--but that was before I met Dan. I had a personal design idea that not only do they not sell in stores, they don't even really sell jade cut how I needed. As far as I can tell, no one had done this before. Well, now someone has, it turned out incredible, and it's all because Dan made it possible. He went above and so far beyond. As a craftsman he is not just skilled, but meticulous, and determined to make sure every product he works on meets his high standard of excellence. As a teacher he is patient, knowledgeable, and eager to share and show what he knows--which is a lot.  And to top it all off, he is a real man of his word--exactly the kind of person you want to put your trust in when dealing with precious metals, stones, and memories. In short, they don't 'em like Dan anymore--that goes for his character, and his jewelry. If you need jewelry made, if you need jewelry worked on, if you need a guiding hand to make something yourself--do yourself a favor and see Dan and his team at JewelryClassDC.

He wrote back, "probably" and told me to bring it by that weekend and he'd have a look. I told him I would come Saturday and he wrote that he might have to go the DMV at some point, but that he should be around. I came by Saturday and he was not there, so I left the piece with a young woman who admired the bracelet and tagged it to give it to him and took my phone number and email. When I had heard nothing by Wednesday, I called and Daniel somewhat impatiently said that "I haven't even looked at it," but that he would. I waited another three days and called a week from when I had originally dropped it off, only to have Daniel say that he "hadn't even looked at it" and I told him I would just come over to take it back. I came and he dumped the bracelet in my hand, again saying, "I haven't looked at it." When I reminded him that he had said Wednesday that he would look at it, he barked "What do you want from me!!!!!"
