I was determined to try this restaurant out. I always drive by this place. It's was so packed today. I had to circle around cause no parking space. Finally found one and step inside. Sign posted stating you seat yourself. Only one table was available, sat and order my food. Decor is that of old diner meets grandma living room with all the decorative dishes hanging on walls. I went with the daily special Roasted pork with 2 sides (chose mashed potato & salad) and cornbeard. Came out quick was pretty tasty good. I got pecan cobbler for desert it was ok. Man I was like only person in here under age 60 other than employees. It was like senior cafeteria lol. Well old folks know something cause food was down right home cooking good. My friend and I try to make it to Canton at least once a year, but we never found this place until today. What a gem. Our waitresses (yes, we had FOUR) were all so friendly and obviously liked each other a lot. The food was good, we had breakfast. But it wasn't so much the food as it was a sense of a truly happy and peaceful vibe. It was really a nice experience to just "be there". We will be back for sure. read more

We have lived in the area for 5 years and finally stopped here for lunch. I had the chicken fried steak lunch special. It was one of the best chicken fried steaks I have ever had and I am picky. The meat was fresh, perfectly cooked and the batter was awesome and perfectly crispy! I am a fan! The interior/décor is exactly what you would expect. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. So disappointed. Great reviews on yelp but that was not our experience. We waited almost an hour for our food and when it came it was just OK and almost cold. The waitresses are very friendly but even they can't make up for issues in the kitchen. I would recommend going on a non trade day weekend. read more

Great little down home cooking. Chicken fried steak was tender and the crust was delicious! When you see the local 80 year old ranchers coming in one after another you know you have found the best local place for the money. Felisha is hands-down the best waitress we've ever had. She was hilarious, honest and helpful, as well as delivering constant great service. Beyond that, you could tell all of the servers were outgoing, hard working and supported each other. We had breakfast and it was good; great value for price. Bacon, eggs and potatoes were good. This is the fourth time we ate breakfast here. Today was unusually bad. The food was fair. The service was not good. We didn't get coffee refills, no syrup for pancakes, missing item on order, and waitress walked right by when we tried to flag her down. They were busy, but no so busy that they couldn't handle the crowd. We left very disappointed today. read more
