Ube Milk Tea (Cold) 紫薯奶茶 (冷)
Kim K.

Had a lovely meal here! I started with the ube milk tea with rainbow jelly. It was very sweet but delicious. We got a variety of steamed buns and they were all piping hot and fresh. The service was pretty slow and we were never checked on, but overall still had a good meal.

From the outside and interior, this place feels sleek and modern which gave me high expectations that the food would match the vibe. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to that. The soup dumplings barely had any soup in them. While one of my friends enjoyed the pork bun, I found it pretty average compared to others I've had elsewhere. My friend actually placed a to go order for another pork bun, which was supposed to take about 15 minutes but it was completely forgotten until we asked about it 30 minutes later. Overall, I really wanted to like this spot because of its aesthetics, but if you're looking for some solid dim sum, I'd recommend trying somewhere else.

Ambience is nice; convenient location on harbor steps wiyh great lighting. Service is polite. My companion recommended the egg fried rice and scallion pancakes. While the rice was flavorful, the portion was small (barely a cup and a half of rice), and lukewarm. For $6.50, you expect better. The pancake was crispy, but too oily. The dumplings were terrible. The pan fried version had a great crisp on the bottom, but the top part (where the dough is crimped) was less than al dente. Meaning, it wasn't cooked all the way through. Same for the steamed version: soggy bottom, partially cooked at the seam. What was truly disappointing was the filling: flavorless, mass produced meat pellets. I wanted to like this olace but the food was so disappointing.

This place is almost like DTF's chiller, more down to earth cousin. We went for a late lunch and got the chicken XLB, pork XLB, shrimp and pork potstickers, pork buns, banana crepe and a Thai iced tea. Everything was okay, but nothing really blew me away. The soup dumpings were my favorite, though the craftsmanship of them was a little off. My partner really enjoyed the pork buns. The banana dessert was downright nasty and oily and I wish we'd not gotten it. The service leaves a lot to be desired. I wouldn't say anyone was rude, the servers were just really inattentive and blasé and the restaurant wasn't even extremely busy. It took forever for refills and we had to flag someone down to ask for the little bowls to make our dipping sauce, which I kind feel like should be a no brainer at a dumpling restaurant. One of the moments that bothered me the most was when we asked what types of seafood the seafood sauce that comes with the broccoli is made of because my partner has a crab allergy. The server said "Let me check," and walks away. Of course, we're thinking she's going to come back with a verbal answer, instead she returns with a small bowl of the sauce and gives it to my partner to taste? We reiterate that my partner has a shellfish allergy and she's like "It has crab and shrimp, yeah don't eat that." Cool. We verbally order the broccoli without the sauce, and go so far as to cross it out on the paper menu slip...It still arrives to us with the sauce on the plate and some of it is spilled on the broccoli near it. I'd come here again if I needed a quick dumpling fix, but I probably wouldn't rush back.

Came here out of convenience since Pike Place was closed, and honestly wasn't very impressed. The aesthetic of the place and food looks good but I felt that the food itself was just decent. We ordered the sesame romaine lettuce salad (one friend doesnt like cucumbers, and another doest like kale), pan fried potstickers, chili wontons, xlb, dan dan noodles, and beef stew noodle soup. Maybe because I've tried other places that specialize in these dishes, I felt like the dishes were quite bland and lacked flavor. I was a bit disappointed by the noodles as it just seemed like ramen noodles for both the dan dan and beef stew. I was expecting the noodles to taste more fresh but it was a little soggy. If I'm being honest the salad was my favorite. The lettuce tasted fresh and the sesame dressing paired well with each crunchy bite. What really made us scratch our heads was that we had been seated at a (5 seat) table, but 15 mins later one of the servers asked us to sit at a smaller table (4 seats) because there happened to be a party of 5 that just came in. We wouldnt have minded if this was at the beginning, but we had already been seated with water, ordered, and started snacking. Maybe this day was a bad day, but me and my friends would not come back again.

Whew, I was so excited for dough zone because we have no equivalent where I live. Overall, the food was okay but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The bao, pancake, potstickers were excellent. The broccoli was very undercooked (raw) and the cucumber was underpickled by a lot. The ma la noodles and fried rice were okay. Getting any additional refills or napkins was really hard. The team would hear your request then come back about 5-10 minutes later to actually fulfill it. This is challenging with young families when you're trying to contain the mess your child is making. All in all, I would come by myself to specific items. It didn't work well for us that evening.

Large restaurant and maybe because of the time/day there were not many customers. Boba - too sweet, no real tea flavor 1.5/5 Soup dumplings - decent amount of soup inside. a little messy when presented.. skin a bit thick too and not super yummy. 3/5 cucumbers - not seasoned enough or pickled enough. basically just nicely cut cucumbers. 1/5 Fried dumplings - more oily than anything. not too good. 1.5/5

Pork Boiled Wontons in Chili Sauce (6) 红油猪肉小馄饨

Was at downtown seattle & my sister goes to Dough Zone franchise a lot. Food is delicious, portions are small, it's more of an individual meal sized compared to other dumpling houses where it's served family style. We all ordered the beef stew noodle soup, the broth is flavorful and balanced with the tender beef. Comes with two pieces of lettuce, pieces of beef, noodles, and green onions for garnish. My sister ordered us the sweet and sour cucumber....blew my mind. It was so crunchy, had the perfect tang, and is cut in a specific way that is a continuous log which I enjoyed. I also ordered the pork boiled wontons in chili sauce, it comes with 6 pieces and is pretty small compared to the wrapper to meat ratio. Besides that everything came hot and was delicious. I ordered the passion fruit tea and the rest of my family shared the jasmine tea which comes in a coffee pot ensuring that it stays warm. We were seated pretty fast considering how busy it was, you scan a QR code in the entrance and they call you afterwards. Plenty of seats and tables. Service was good but no one checked up on us throughout our whole meal until we finished eating.

Got garlic noodles and scallion pancakes when I stopped my for lunch while in Seattle. The food was pretty good and affordable! I'd definitely go again and recommend if you're looking for a quick eat with protein while in Downtown

Pork & Shrimp Boiled Dumplings (6) 猪肉三鲜水饺
Vince U.

I love this spot for its prime location near Pike Place and Post Alley. It's close to the action but without the chaos. The space is roomy, and unlike some of the other locations, you're usually not stuck in a long line. The food is reliably excellent and true to the brand. My personal weakness is the sweet-and-sour cucumber. It's so addictive you'll swear they sprinkle magic on it. Potstickers are always a safe bet, and the pork and shrimp dumplings never disappoint. Pair it with their cold sake, especially the Nigori, and you've got yourself a perfect combo. If there's one thing holding this place back, it's the service. Initial orders come out fine, but once you've got your food and drink, it's like you've entered witness protection (good luck getting noticed again.) A little more attentiveness would take this location from "solid choice" to "standout favorite."

Pan fried pork buns , sweet-and-sour cucumber & chicken and vegetable wontons in chicken soup
Alana M.

I ordered two of the must haves pan fried pork buns, and sweet-and-sour cucumber. The sweet-and-sour cucumber was okay but the pork buns I felt were underwhelming. I liked the chicken and vegetable wontons in chicken soup. Friendly staff Update: my coworker also went to Dough Zone and she really liked the sweet and sour cucumber.

Cyndy And Randy R.

Another great meal! Just Corina and I this time although we ordered like Randy was with us so we have leftovers lol. We ordered the green onion pancake, the Chinese crepe, Pork & Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao, pan fried pork buns, chicken potstickers, broccoli with seafood sauce and romaine lettuce salad with sesame dressing. Everything was delicious and so full of flavor. Hopefully the leftovers will be good reheated! Excellent service - the people working here are so friendly.

Tina C.

Ordered an array of food here on Door Dash delivery! The scallion pancakes and pork xiao long bao were great, but the fried rice, fried pork bun, and beef pancake roll were either a bit undercooked (fried rice, pork bun) or salty (beef). The pork and shrimp potstickers were as expected. The food was overall made quickly and as ordered. A solid spot overall!

A tiny place with big portion and authentic food…read more We came here on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was almost fully packed. I had my all time favorite dish at a Hong Kong café cuisine, gon caau ngau ho (乾炒牛河), aka beef chow fun, along with a childhood favorite drink, iced Horlicks. I liked how everything moved at a quick pace here and yet the staff were still friendly. The best part was that no one stopped by to ask how the food was while your mouth was full, because they already knew the food was good. The beef chow fun was just as good as the ones back home. It was savory and full of wok hei (iykyk). The bean sprouts were added at just the right time, so they were still a slightly crunchy. The sliced beef was tender too. If you like adding extra spice, be sure to try the crunchy chili sauce on the table. It was awesome, fragrant, spicy, and full of flavor. Just be careful not to choke on it, I did, and it wasn't fun. I hadn't had Horlicks in twenty years, and the first sip brought back so many memories. Be sure to stir it well and maybe wait until the ice melts a little, otherwise it may be slightly too sweet. My partner is a vegetarian. He looked through the entire menu and said there weren't many things he could order (listen, people, choose your future SO accordingly if you like sharing big meat dishes). He ended up ordering the curry vegetable rice and added a fried egg. He said the curry was delicious. I tried a bite of it and agreed. I think there may have some coconut milk in it because it was rich and creamy. The rice was a little too dry to my liking. Sitting there and listening to the background music from the Hong Kong TV news, I felt like a kid again.

Quick service, free hot tea in plastic cups (a classic), and chili oil at the table. Ask for white pepper btw! Depending on your taste, I like adding white pepper to my fried rice, chow fun, and soup. Wonton soup: the wontons are huge and filled with pork and shrimp. The soup however was kind of sour? Not sure what they added in, but the flavor of the broth was not my favorite. There's so much good wonton soup in the area! I wish this broth was better and more savory. Beef chow fun: pretty tasty and the beef was pretty tender. There was no work hei, so didn't have that distinct flavor Half chicken bone in: this was surprisingly our favorite dish! Steamed chicken with a ginger oil. The ginger made this dish and the chicken was very tender. The chicken comes cold so eat it with some rice and it's the perfect combo

The Chow Mein had a wonderful Wok Hei flavor and the chicken was juicy and tender. It was our favorite of the dishes. The Mixed Basket Xiao Long Bao was super fun to be able to try them all and pick your favorites. Mine was the wagyu beef, the original pork and the truffle. I was kind of sad that they didn't include soy vinegar and chili oil. I feel that those things enhance the Xiao Long Bao. The Lychee Sweet & Sour Pork Tenderloin I was most excited about. Unfortunately, it was the worst dish. The flavor was great. I love that it had lychee in it, but the breading was mush, and the pork was so hard and overcooked. It was inedible. Because of that dish and not including the condiments is my three star review.

I had been meaning to check Tai Tung out, and having a group is a great opportunity to try a variety of dishes family style. We ordered the fried chicken wings, half peking duck, beef chow fun, beef in oyster sauce (Bruce Lee's favorite), crab fried rice, and noodles with tofu (one girl had to be healthy!) The food was solid and nostalgic. It reminded me of the kind of Chinese food I would get in the 80s and 90s when we went out for Chinese food in New Jersey. We stayed, talking, until the restaurant closed. As my friends packed up and said their goodbyes, the staff noticed me looking around at the different tables. I wanted to find Bruce Lee's favorite table, which I had seen on online reviews of Tai Tung. The staff member very proudly brought us all into the next room, turned on the lights, showed us the photos on the wall, and told us about the history. We got a history and culture lesson with our meal. Best of all, our friends all congratulated me on the "great find!" of a restaurant, and isn't that the kind of validation every Yelper wants?
