The restaurant was very busy for a Friday night. I wasn't expecting it to be so large, but there is plenty of seating, including bar area and outdoor seating. The décor is modern and inviting, with lots of plants and beautiful gold accents. For drinks, we tried the Donatella, which is made with gin, grapefruit, honey, and lemon. We also had the Pomegranate Mule, which was light and refreshing. For my entrée, I ordered the Braised Short Rib Marsala, served with beech mushrooms, snap peas, heirloom carrots, and black truffle risotto. My husband had the Chicken Parmesan, which came with crushed tomato sauce, aged provolone, mozzarella, Parmesan, and rigatoni. Both meals were delicious and full of flavor. My short rib was tender, although a few pieces had a bit more fat than I would have preferred. The prices were on the higher side, but when the food quality is this good, it's hard to complain. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back.

Pizza Quest -- Episode 3: Built with Love…read more The campaign continues. Next stop: Piezon's Pizzeria a neighborhood stronghold with a robust menu that offers plenty of choices without feeling overwhelming. For this session, I picked up: One slice of the Oh Mio Dio One slice of the Mahalo with jalapeños The standout of the encounter was the Oh Mio Dio. The combination of fiery chicken and cream cheese landed exactly where I like my pizza builds to be--bringing the perfect balance of heat and coolness in every bite. The Mahalo took a different path. Built with Canadian bacon, pineapple, and cream cheese, it already offers a unique take on a Hawaiian-style pizza. Adding jalapeños gave it just enough kick to complement the sweet and savory flavors without overwhelming them. I can see why it's my wife's favorite. The menu itself deserves credit. There's a lot to choose from, but it never feels complicated. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a first-time visitor, finding your next slice feels straightforward. What stuck with me most, though, was the atmosphere. The walls are filled with stories and adventures drawn by kids, while pizza trays signed by Husker fans cover the space with messages and memories. Everywhere you look, there's evidence that people care about this place and that this place cares about its community. Heart 18 (+4) From children's drawings to signed pizza trays, the entire restaurant feels built on memories, traditions, and community. Wisdom 16 (+3) A menu with plenty of variety that remains easy to navigate and approachable for any adventuring party. Dexterity 17 (+3) The Oh Mio Dio balances heat and coolness with precision, while the jalapeños on the Mahalo add just the right amount of extra movement to the build. Could not taste any sauce. Was a little dry for me. Giant slices of pizza though. Nice cozy place. Was going to give it three stars because I didn't care for the pizza but a lot of people do so I put it out of four! But it also helped that the waitress got my two slices of pizza a bit mixed up because they do not write down what you order and she didn't come to check on me till I was almost done and I had already paid. She offered to fire me up two free slices to go, which was really nice! Also, the reason for a four star!

We loved the taste of the pizza; however the sauce wasn't spread as evenly as we would have preferred which made the top part droopy and hard to pick up/fold hence the 4 stars. It supports the ingredients well, and has a good flavor. The regular crust is also quite nice, a little chewy/springy, with crispy edges and soft middle. The toppings are vibrantly flavorful and the menu has a good set of topping-combinations to start with, or build your own. I was kind of bummed they forgot the fresh basil on the Calabrese this last time I went. But the other time was fantastic, when we tried the Grandma, a build-your-own with sardines (both on regular crust), a side of meatballs, and a side salad. The meatballs are perfect: soft, great flavor, good size, with fresh tasting marinara and fresh basil. I loved the little, tangy, salty sardines! Wonderful, and they didn't make the pizza soggy. The salad dressing is also good--simple, delicious, tangy. There are also a selection of Italian sodas and Mexican Coca-Cola. I tried one of the Sicily lemon sodas and it was delightful--the aromatics of the lemons shine beautifully through the velvety fizziness. I enjoyed the ambiance here, too. Just a few small tables along a wall, with bench seating on one side and chairs on the other side. The big windows letting in plenty of natural light are so nice! And all of our servers have been so patient while we decided, answered questions, and even helped us find the perfect combination for the day! I always appreciate great customer service. One caveat: I don't know why, but the ladies' bathroom door was incredibly hard to open/close! I actually just stood outside the door so my girlfriend could use the bathroom in peace! But it wasn't like that when I went before with my husband and one of our sons, so I don't think it's an always issue. But a sometime issue like this is worth looking into fixing, because my friend would not have been able to close/open the door, and I can imagine other, weaker ladies, grandmas, etc., having a problem, too.
