Great local neighborhood takeout. Some of the unique combo pizzas are better than others

I would like to preface this by saying that I am not easily impressed by pizza. For the most part I think it's over hyped and usually pretty meh from any traditional pizza joint. The dough is either too bready, too bland, or just doesn't wow me enough to take note of. That being said, I went into this with very minimal expectations thinking it would be another mediocre pizza just to try. The prices are incredible. On DoorDash and the pizzas are $11 for a "try me" size which is already a large pizza. The choices looked interesting and combined with the low price I gave it a try and .. wow. This pizza DID wow me. I tried the Thai Chicken and an Ultimate (Combo) which is my usual go to anywhere. I was impressed by how big the $11 size pizza was and when I bit in I was further impressed by how delicious it was. You could tell it was fresh ingredients. The dough was perfect, not super doughy a nice thin but not overly crunchy, it was just right. The Thai chicken with the peanut sauce was so unique and yummy with a slight kick. I'm a wuss when it comes to spice but this was just enough I could handle in moderation and still enjoyed it. The combo was great. Fresh veggies, good bite everywhere and I could even eat the whole thing where other places I throw away crusts. One slice of these both was enough to fill me. I saw other reviewers say they got half and half which was not an option for delivery through DD but I wish it was as I would have loved to try some more of the unique topping options. That and I was missing some garlic sauce to dip it in! But other than those things I thought this place was great and I'll definitely order again to try more kinds. Decided to try this place out on my journey to find the best pizza i can in omaha. Safe to say, this pizza really is making an argument for at least the top 3 that I've had. The sauce is a little sweet, but it's not overly sweet to where it just tastes like sugar. The toppings are underneath the cheese, which I really like on a pizza so you don't lose the toppings. The cheese was a very small amount, which I also like because I don't like a ton of cheese on my pizza, so this was perfect. It's a little on the pricey side at $22 for a one toppings large pizza, but for the quality of the ingredients, of course, that's not a problem at all. I definitely will pay for good quality food. The restaurant itself was a small, cozy looking place in a shopping center mall, and the service was excellent. The employee came out from the kitchen immediately and was very friendly. I definitely will be adding this place to my pizza rotation. I can not see myself getting sick of it anytime soon. read more

Ordered some takeout pizza and wings from here over the weekend after driving by many times. The staff was really friendly and quick, my food was ready within 15-20 minutes. We got the meat me pizza along with sweet heat and bbq boneless and traditional wings. Everything was really good I would definitely come back! read more

How did I not know about this place...I found them on DoorDash and boy am I happy I did! So impressed that they had a cauliflower crust option for my gluten-free self. The pizza always comes home hot and the cheese super melty! I used to have to order dominos because they were the only place I could get a gluten-free pizza delivered but I won't be doing that anymore. I'll be ordering from the pizza pie guys! After living right down the street for the past 5 years we have FINALLY given these guys a try. Only thing it left me wondering was why the heck did it take so long?! They know exactly how to build a pizza and bring amazing flavors to the plate. The mustard base bbq sauce was such a solid compliment to the pulled pork and sweet/spicy pickles for the Carolina BBQ. And we were big fans of the artichokes and tomatoes that came on the other half in the Pesto Chicken. The thin, but not too thin, crust held all the toppings perfectly and was just enough to not leave you feeling like you have to immediately undo a few buttons or change into sweats after a couple slices. Order pick up Monday evening and ordered the Thai Chicken online and moments after paying forgot I had a promo code for a free large cheese so I called up and they were able to add it on! And DONT sleep on the cheese pizza, my husband and I agree it must be a special blend, it's fantastic and of course the Thai is perfection. THE BEST PIZZA IN OMAHA, HANDS DOWN! Ok, I just felt like shouting that from the rooftops. I just had my first takeout experience at Pizza Pie Guys after hearing about it from several friends, and I was floored. Ok let's get into some specifics. The Crust: I absolutely love that they have two sizes of GF crusts! Most places have one personal pizza size if you're lucky. And this is the best take out GF crust I've ever had. Thin but not too cracker-like, and the oven gave it a nice browning and crispiness. My husband got the regular crust which looked to be somewhat thin as well. The Toppings: OMG. They use extremely fresh, high quality ingredients. I chose the Meat Me pizza, which had red sauce, ground beef, ham, pepperoni, and sausage...and tons of mozzarella cheese. I was so impressed at how they were able to get the perfect brown spots on the cheese (you know what I'm talking about!) without drying out any of the toppings. Ideal toppings to sauce to crust ratio. This pizza was the perfect combination of flavors and textures. Seriously I couldn't stop eating it...I had 4 slices myself! They've got a variety of unique pizzas with various flavor combinations that I can't wait to try. The ONLY downside is the cost. We spent $48 on an extra large Dan's Special and a large GF Meat Me. Not cheap, so it won't be an every week occurrence for us, but it'll be a great treat. I would love to see some sales and specials! read more

AWESOME BURGERS! This place may serve the best burger in Omaha. A friend recommended this place for burgers. Been there for pizza which is okay. Walked in and was not sure they actually served and when I mentioned it and someone waiting for a pizza said the burgers are really good. Perfectly cooked burger on a toasted bun with fresh ingredients. Promise you will not be disappointed and was hit when I got him. It is also really inexpensive. Pizza is the required first meal in a new place so off to Yelp I go. After looking over the menu and seeing the some of the unique combinations they offered (along with the close proximity to our new place), we decided to give these guys a try. Was not disappointed. Easy to order online and additional toppings with prices were offered with every pie you put in the cart so there wasn't a ton of searching or frustration. Kudos!!!!! We ordered the Thai Peanut and the Buffalo. We added red onion to the Buffalo and left the Thai as is. I received an email the order was received and then another a couple minutes later with a approximate delivery time of an hour. 40 minutes later there's a quiet knock on our door PIZZA!!!! Thin, chewy crust with good flavor. The Buffalo was spicy but not blow your socks off- just enough to warm you up on a cold night. I really appreciate the rotisserie chicken as opposed to grilled, processed chicken breast. It was nice and tender in various sizes. I'm glad we added the onions. The Thai Peanut was good but was missing.... something. The sauce was good, chicken was good , it had a little spice to it - I think it needed more cilantro and red onions to put it over the top. None the less -I still ate half the pie and I plan on ordering it again but with a couple upgrades. The house salad was as fresh as fresh can be and a nice compliment to the fun pizzas. I'm looking forward to trying the Mac & Beer Cheese and the Green Chili Enchilada pizzas along with one of their burgers or chicken sandwiches in the future. Got the Porky's revenge this time around and it was just as good as the "Meat Me". High quality pulled pork, bacon and ham. Lots of toppings as well, they didn't skimp this time either. This is an update on my first experience. The owner contacted me and was very gracious and offered to deliver me a complimentary pie if I was willing to give them another chance. So what the hay, I figured, perhaps they were still working out the kinks as they are relatively new to this location and I accepted his offer. Let me say just say the pizza I had tonight was absolutely night and day from my first experience. The pie was delicious, it's clear they're only using the most fresh ingredients-- you can especially tell with the vegetables.. I shall look forward to trying out some of their specialty pizzas, I also like the fact they deliver-- out west, it's pretty much only franchises that deliver. read more

The owner reached out to me today and gave me a replacement pizza, I really appreciated that. We ordered it tonight and had an XL pepperoni pizza and some fried gouda Mac n cheese bites. Let me just say that the owner is a very great guy. Very genuine and caring of his customers, I can really tell that they are wanting to be better. Good customer service is the most memorable to me when I go out. I want to feel welcomed and comfortable and I do here. The food was good, I really liked the Mac n cheese bites but they are VERY decadent. I wouldn't recommend for someone to eat alone, share these babies! They have a very strong stinky cheese smell (in the best way!) that was driving me crazy the whole drive home, I couldn't wait to taste them! They reminded me of something but I couldn't put my finger on it.. Then it hit me. They taste like a better tasting, less greasy version of the cheesy tots they had at bk a few years back, which I loved. So I would order these again for sure. They are a bit pricey at 8 bucks a pop but with gouda in it, I understand why. Now to the pizza, it's a good size pizza for a good price. Its very thin crust and the pepperoni are huge! Not your run of the mill pepperoni. They had a bit of spice to them too. I prefer thick crust but it still tasted good. My hubby and son both really liked it and hubby said he would buy it again, next time a specialty though. I'm looking at you green chili enchilada or bbq chicken. ;P I gave 5 stars because the pizza is wayyyy better than last time, not as greasy at all. Ate there the other night I got a garbage pizza which is a combination and they still have plastic over all the Canadian bacon pepperonis or whatever it was disgusting and then the chicken wings they only option they had was boneless and they were like taste like they come straight out of the microwave so basically two thumbs down never go again read more

2018 Edit: THEY HAVE BURGERS NOW! You HAVE to try them. I was pleased to be invited to a burger taste test but I assure you that my opinions are completely genuine and my own. I came to the taste test completely prepared to be super critical and I ended up being blown away. I got to try 3 burgers. The first was the Brady burger which I believe is their version of a Big Mac. This ended up being my favorite. The second was the barbecue bacon burger which was also delicious but in my opinion needed a sharper flavor, maybe a tangier sauce or sharper cheese. Lastly we tried the ring of fire burger which has ghost pepper cheese and other spicy goodies. It's not so spicy that it's too niche, anyone can enjoy this burger. It was my second favorite burger! With all the burgers, the meat is cooked with a little pink in the middle which is exactly how I like it, though you can request to have the burger cooked however you want. The meat isn't overly seasoned which I appreciate, and nice and thick. It's freaking delicious. It's served on a fresh toasted potato bun which is slightly sweet and so soft and yummy, with a little chew to it. The veggies are all fresh and crispy. It's overall just a damn good burger. So now, my favorite pizza place is now also my favorite burger place. They do serve fries and they're fresh and crispy and awesome. --------------------------- I tried them a second time with better results. We tried the BBQ chicken pizza this time, which was fantastic (buffalo chicken is so far still my favorite, I highly recommend it) and they threw in a cup of ranch which is always appreciated. They also threw in plates, forks, and napkins which was helpful because we were in the process of moving and hadn't unpacked the kitchen yet. My only complaint about this pizza is there was a little too much BBQ sauce on it which is personal preference so I'll probably just ask for less next time. Also we didn't get the jalapeños again so I'm not sure if that's something you have to order extra even though it's on the menu. I didn't mention this in the last review but the crust was a little chewy last time but we think it's because the pizza had cooled down by the time it reached us. This time it was perfectly hot when it got to us and the crust was significantly less chewy (in a good way.) Did I mention the delivery time is great? Overall this is my new favorite place to get pizza in Omaha. I can WAIT until they come out with their new crust (hopefully it's a thin cracker crust) and I can wait to try all the other pizza flavors! read more

If I could rate this one lower, I would! We went in to try these guys out based on Yelp reviews. Evidently the people who have left reviews did NOT go inside to eat! If they did, they would see the filth inside! The place was stuffy and why? Because the AC filters are so filthy they couldn't even more air any more. One lady was on the phone and 3 older kids behind the counter didn't have a clue what to do. We sat ourselves and got our own menu since no one made a move to greet us! While we were waiting to be waited on, one of the kids behind the FRONT counter started popping his ZITS using his phone for a mirror! RIGHT IN FRONT OF US NO MORE THAN 10 FEET AWAY in the eating area popping zits! I said, "REALLY DUDE?!?! Popping your zits in front of everyone where we want to eat?" The lady on the phone looked up like no big deal. Made no attempt to tell the kid to go home and pop his zits or to go in the back or to stop! She made no attempt to apologize to us as we got up to leave. She couldn't even look up at us as we left this sty! Who raised this kid, wolves? His parents didn't teach him NOT to pop zits in public, not to mention the owner of this joint didn't tell them not to pop them either! Where do these people come from? It was so gross to see in a food establishment! Now based on everything, we decided it wasn't wise to eat at this place since cleanliness and hygiene weren't their top priorities! I would never eat anything that came from this place based on how filthy it is. Don't believe me, drive by and look in the kitchen window! So the morale of the story is...NOT all Yelp reviews actually review the place or else people couldn't care less how much zit juice lands in their food! Called up PPG and they delivered my corrected order within a half hour. Complete class act and really, REALLY damn good pizza. Would be the best pizza in town if they changed the pepperoni they use. As it is they use large pepperoni's that taste like summer sausage. If I had to guess, they are using the cheap pepperoni that includes chicken. If they change to a quality pepperoni my review would be 5 stars. THE BEST BREAKFAST PIZZA! The sausage, egg and cheese pizza is the current champion in our house! They emailed me a $2 off coupon yesterday morning (the morning after a couple Elite 8 games!) and I decided to try it out because their pizzas have been terrific. There is plenty of delicious, rich cheese, big chunks of sausage and egg. It was served hot and was ready right on time! The staff is kind and friendly. The store itself isn't a gem, but to be honest, as long as they produce great food and keep their awesome attitudes, we'll be long time advocates! Also - my neighbors rave about their pancake mix.
