For some reason this seems to always be the place we stop at for a meal when we're in the area. The beer selection is good, but the menu is better than some that are nearby. Service has always been good (otherwise we wouldn't come back) and the food as expected. Prices are good for portion size and food tastes great. Lots of indoor seating and some outside as well. Just a solid place to come for a pint and a bite.

Truffle shuffle

Our favorite pizza spot in the gorge. The mushroom truffle is worth the drive alone. Always have good rotating beers on tap. We usually like their seasonal pizza too.

Stopped by double mountain with some friends the weekend of our wedding (we had their cider and beer for our guests a few days later!) and we grabbed a pizza! The pizza was incredibly delicious I wish I came back for more before leaving town! The servers were chill and friendly and the ambiance was super lovely and upbeat. They had a live performance when we came so it was really fun!

We stopped in here after exploring around the town. We ordered a salad, two pizzas (a salami pie and truffle shuffle), a club sandwich and tuna melt. All of the food was really good! The truffle shuffle was my favorite though. The tuna melt was good but different with the tuna being an actual patty and not loose meat. I liked that it was served like that though, less messy! We wished we could have sat outside in their individual covered patio tables but the party in front of us snagged it before we could. Overall, great portions and a good experience.

Our food was delicious! The peppers on the pizza added a little extra flavor and crunch! We sat outside, the kids could move around and were not confined to sitting in one spot and that was nice. We came to Hood River for a couple of days and we will definitely be back if we are ever in the area.

The Salami Pie

I'm visiting from out of town and went to Double Mountain for a late night bite. I didn't go inside (because I had my dog with me) and I loved that they had outdoor seating. They had great wooden benches that felt private as well as some picnic tables. Even water bowls for dogs! Service was attentive, quick and the people were very helpful! Lastly, the food was decent! We got the Heirloom Pie & Salami Pie. They had pretty thin crusts (I usually like the thick crust) lots of toppings, and slices were large. Overall, not too shabby!

Cider Flight
Dave B.

Despite a full restaurant, we were seated immediately! We ordered the Cider Flight- which is a predetermined selection of 5 ciders. All 5 ciders had unique flavor profiles, but we both preferred the Lil Ice the best. We split an order of Pretzel Bites- which were served warm with buttery crusts & just the right amount of salt! The dipping mustard & cheese sauce were amazing! We also split the Grilled Tuna which was a grown-up tuna sandwich! It had fresh arugula, tasty pickled red onions, & a nice tuna patty served on a perfect ciabatta roll. We also shared the Irish Stout Brownie which was a wonderful, warm, dense brownie served under a generous scoop of ice cream. We would definitely eat here again!

Taster tray

Excellent pizza! We got the salami pie with white sauce and it was phenomenal! The crust is perfection. The caesar salad was tasty, the cheesy break was divine and the mezze platter was great (yummy hummus). The beers are also excellent. This is a very great brewery that doesn't get nearly enough recognition!

Double mountain is one of my favorite pizza places in the gorge! They offer gluten free choices and cider which are all tasty and delicious. They have a handful of beer on tap to choose from too. I'd recommend checking them out if you are craving pizza!

Heirloom tomato (seasonal only)
Jeanie N.

Give me more of that truffle shuffle!!! I don't drink but I know a good pizza place when I smell one. Loved the pizzas here. We got the truffle shuffle that had thick cut mushrooms, cheesy goodness and truffle oil. The heirloom tomato had thick slices of tomatoes hugged by pesto under a blanket of cheese. Then this meaty pizza was all the goodness we liked with a lil mama's pepper kick. Crispy pizza, great crust. Worth every single carb.

Full Sail is a very well respected micro brewery, founded in 1987 and the first craft brewery in the Pacific Northwest to bottle its beer. It's flagship Amber has won numerous awards, including recently in 2025 a Gold Medal at the NY International Beer Competition (along with the brewery being named Oregon Brewery of the Year). It has a large line-up of beers brewed inhouse There is a large paid parking lot across the street at $1.25 per hour, payable via credit card through nearby kiosks. Once entering, there is a long hallway, walking past the working areas of the brewery, until getting to the restaurant area. It has views of I-84, and further the Columbia River. The outdoor patio was not open (drizzling outside), and it was pretty crowded inside but we got lucky to be seated at a table near windows with a view. There have lunch and happy hour specials during weekdays. The lunch special is 1/2 of a sandwich (grilled cheese this day) along with a cup of their soup of the day (tomato). I was super excited about the Amber, so got a pint of that ($8) and pint of the Queen Wheat ($8). My wife enjoyed the Queen Wheat but didn't care for the Amber. I really liked the Amber, making me realize why I had drunk so much of that style earlier in my life when in Wisconsin, before switching over to wheat beer. There selection of beer is great, and a flight is the way to go ($18 of 6 5oz samplers). Buffalo Hot Wings ($17) - a decent amount of simply deep fried hot wings in a classic Frank's red hot buffalo sauce. Pretzel Bread Sticks ($13) - 4 large, warmed pretzels. Should have gotten the beer cheese to go with it. Salmon Fish & Chips ($20) - 3 small pieces of beer battered salmon, very dense and definitely tasting of wild caught salmon. It came with good fries and a really good, fresh cole slaw. There is a small refrigerator stocked with cans of certain beers for sale. Unfortunately, we were dismissively told that they were out of the Amber bottles for sale. So after our meal, went to the front to purchase directly from the front staff. Their Japanese rice beer from their Session lineup ($10 for a six pack) was available and what we brought back home with us.

Upon arrival we saw a few different beers we wanted to try. Luckily quite a few of them were in cans which we took home but we had a beer there at the taproom also to absorb and relax at the taproom location. An adorable cat that more than likely lived there or put in a hard working shift of charming customers was present and we made over the kitty and pet it when it came to see us. Such a lovely cat! But onto the beer now! For the beer that we had at the taproom we had the Rice and Shine Japanese Lager. This was a pretty solid lager and one of my favorite types of lagers. I do love a lager that involves rice. Perhaps not the best ever that I have come across but still quite good. The flavor profile of this beer has a clean, crisp and refreshing aspects to it along with a biscuity flavor. The rest of the beers we had went home with us in cans. One beer was the River Pillow. This was a Pale Ale and had a nice, soft feel to it. The hop presence wasn't too overwhelming. We had another Pale Ale also. This one was called the Shredipede. This beer has a clean, crisp and citrusy presence to it. It is bright in hue and is nice and crushable which means you can have more than one with ease. Moving on from that was another kind of lager. This one was a Mexican Lager. The name of this one was the Pinche Chela. Mexican Lagers are another favorite lager of mine if not my #1 favorite for this beer type. This beer has a nice corn taste which provides a natural sweetness and the beer is nice and crisp. Again... perhaps not my most favorite version that I have had but enjoyable all the same. After that we went to darker beer territory and had a dry Irish Stout. I love these kinds of stouts because of that dryness aspect at work. Other flavor features in this are roastiness, oatmeal and the feel of it is smooth, creamy and soft. An excellent stout. This was a good stop and I am glad this brewery finally got tried out.

I'll start with the beer first as that is always something I'm excited to write about. We had about five different beers in between taking some cans home and having a beer at the brewery. One beer we had was the Punch Bowl Juicy IPA. This was a nice, tropical flavored IPA and had a flavor profile I missed. I have had other tropical type IPA'S before such as this but not for a while so it was nice to have again. Flavor characteristics in this beer are juicy, citrusy, lemony and dry. The Dog River IPA was another IPA we had. This one was good too however I liked the previous one just a bit more. Flavors to find in this beer are citrus, bitter a clean aftertaste along with a nice overall balance all the way around in the layout of the flavors. Moving on to a pilsner... we had the Post Canyon Pilsner. I do love pilsners very much and getting a hold on one was quite nice. And it was no disappointment either. Flavor features with this beer are crisp, clean, naturally sweet and a nice earthiness to it. The beer is nice and light bodied which makes for a good one where you can have more than one. The Waterfront Blonde Ale was a nice Golden Ale we had. This is another beer type that I enjoy. And another one where it's very easy to get more than one. Flavors in this beer to detect with your tastebuds are biscuity, breadiness, a Belgiany presence with a dry finish. The final beer we had was the Timberline Stout. It was nice to head into darker beer territory after the previous series of lighter beers. We had this beer with some chili soup on one cold night. A great beverage to have with it! Flavors in this beer are coffee, a toastiness, a bit of bitterness and a nice mouthfeel and a great smoothness. For what we ate there we got a roast beef sandwich with a nice portion of horseradish to go with it. Very good good food! There are lots of good sandwich options here! Great experience all the way around another solid stop to make while in Hood River! I got pictures of everything we tried save for the stout as for some reason all the pictures for it came out blurry.
