Double Mountain was my final stop on my most recent trip to Oregon. It was recommended to me and I was not disappointed. They have a nice patio area with a few (4-5) tables that are covered. We got there super early and opted to sit outside since the weather was so nice. The service was fantastic and our waitress was super friendly. We discovered that she has ties to KC so I always love that. I started with an Adeline blackberry sour. It's pretty to look at and so delicious to drink. Sours in Oregon are hands down the best. I wish we had more of it in KC but I highly recommend that you get sours and ciders if you're in the PNW. For lunch I ordered the Club Sandwich: Sweetheart ham, hickory-smoked turkey, Tillamook white cheddar, Applewood smoked bacon; topped with lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo. It normally comes on sourdough but I swapped it out for ciabatta. First off, it's a HUGE club sandwich. Lots of meat that had amazing flavor. Not some sad deli sandwich at all. The ciabatta had great chew and complemented the sandwich perfectly. No complaints here! Did I eat it all? Yes, and that was a great plan because it kept me going for the next 24 hours that ended up being a cluster that resulted in no food being available. Sandwiches come with chips or a garden salad but I opted for a different side with an up charge. Let's talk about the Oregon Blue Salad: spring mix, dried cranberries, honeycrisp apples, Rogue Creamery Oregon Blue crumbles, and maple candied walnuts; tossed in an apple cider vinaigrette. So GOOD! You can get it by itself and it would make a great meal. Everything was so fresh. Again, not a single complaint. If you are ever in the area, please stop in. Everything was amazing and I can't wait until I return. Double Mountain is on my list to come back to! Highly recommend! read more

What happened? We have been going here during our annual Polar Express Ride for 10 years and this year, like always, showed up and they'd seat us. This year, we were told that no minors were allowed on premises after 9p. We were offered take out. No table. 1- "We are very much a family friendly pub and look forward to hosting you and your family. Kids are welcomed until 9pm daily. However, please be mindful of your fellow diners and do not let your children rampage unsupervised throughout the Taproom." We have no unsupervised children, ever, given that we're not irresponsible people, and were not even offered a table at 8:30. 2- we were told this was the policy "forever" and "Oregon law" Btw: Oregon law allows minors in breweries, but they must sit at tables/booths, not the bar, and can't be in smoking-allowed areas; breweries set their own specific policies, with many being very family-friendly (like having kids' menus/play areas) but some restricting minors after certain hours or banning them entirely, so always check the brewery's rules. Guess your rules should be amended to 8:30p, instead of 9, and btw, we'll totally destroy your festive mood by turning you away. So long, truffle pizza. It was nice knowing you. read more

For some reason this seems to always be the place we stop at for a meal when we're in the area. The beer selection is good, but the menu is better than some that are nearby. Service has always been good (otherwise we wouldn't come back) and the food as expected. Prices are good for portion size and food tastes great. Lots of indoor seating and some outside as well. We stopped in here after exploring around the town. We ordered a salad, two pizzas (a salami pie and truffle shuffle), a club sandwich and tuna melt. All of the food was really good! The truffle shuffle was my favorite though. The tuna melt was good but different with the tuna being an actual patty and not loose meat. I liked that it was served like that though, less messy! Our food was delicious! The peppers on the pizza added a little extra flavor and crunch! We sat outside, the kids could move around and were not confined to sitting in one spot and that was nice. I'm visiting from out of town and went to Double Mountain for a late night bite. I didn't go inside (because I had my dog with me) and I loved that they had outdoor seating. They had great wooden benches that felt private as well as some picnic tables. Even water bowls for dogs! Service was attentive, quick and the people were very helpful! Lastly, the food was decent! We got the Heirloom Pie & Salami Pie. They had pretty thin crusts (I usually like the thick crust) lots of toppings, and slices were large. Overall, not too shabby! read more

I'm not sure typical wait times for pizza at this joint but my table of 2 waited just over an hour for one 16" pizza. For a Tuesday night where there were quite a few empty tables, I'm not sure if my expectations were missed or the wait times are normally like this. As for the food, our Greek salad tasted very good. The vinaigrette came on the side and was lovely. The pizza was nothing to write home about. While they are generous with toppings, the dough tasted hollow and a bit dry. I asked for ranch to dip and that came out after I was two slices in (and I was eating slowly). I'll be checking out other spots next time I get pizza. read more

Despite a full restaurant, we were seated immediately! We ordered the Cider Flight- which is a predetermined selection of 5 ciders. All 5 ciders had unique flavor profiles, but we both preferred the Lil Ice the best. We split an order of Pretzel Bites- which were served warm with buttery crusts & just the right amount of salt! The dipping mustard & cheese sauce were amazing! We also split the Grilled Tuna which was a grown-up tuna sandwich! It had fresh arugula, tasty pickled red onions, & a nice tuna patty served on a perfect ciabatta roll. The caesar salad was tasty, the cheesy break was divine and the mezze platter was great (yummy hummus). The beers are also excellent. We got the truffle shuffle that had thick cut mushrooms, cheesy goodness and truffle oil. The heirloom tomato had thick slices of tomatoes hugged by pesto under a blanket of cheese. Went in when it wasn't busy. We were seated right away with menus. We waited 10 minutes with no service, so I went up to the hostess and said we had not been served. Our server came up and said she "got distracted". Took our order, few minutes later our server introduced us to our new server, and we waited 15 minutes for our food. My sister and I got our sandwiches, but my other sister and mom hadn't gotten their pizza. The server walked by, noticed we hadn't gotten the pizza, and came back with it. Hands down one of the best breweries I've ever been to with the best beer and food! We ventured here several times during our time in Hood River. I wish they had the hop lion up here in Seattle on tap! I tried the mezza platter for an app to go with my beers and it was perfect! My first brewery visit in Oregon was Double Mountain and it set a high bar for the rest of the trip. Located in beautiful Hood River, there are a few brewery options nearby, plus gorgeous views and plenty of restaurants. This would make a fun weekend on a future trip. Double Mountain is larger than it looks from the outside with bar seating, plus two buildings of indoor seating. They have to-go beer right inside the door, plus colorful menus greeting you. It has open windows for natural light and lots of wood. High top tables give a great view of the street outside. The staff here was welcoming and friendly. We were here for the midpoint of our drive and got flights of beers and lunch. I wish I could've stayed longer as their taplist was long and varied with lots of special releases in a wide array of styles. I also had the tuna melt, which was much needed after a long morning of travel. I loved the quality of the beer; I can see why this place is so popular. I grabbed a bottle of one I missed on the way out and also loved that one later. If you're in the area, this is a wonderful brewery for food, beer, and good times. read more

Food was excellent, the pizzas was the highlight. Menu is limited, mainly bar food. The Service was awful! The servers don't pay check on orders or refill drinks unless it's alcohol. Good little spot to hang out with some friends. We came here to grab some lunch before the rest of our day and got there as the place opened. Ordered some sandwiches and sat at one of their tables outside to enjoy the view. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The servers came to check on us every so often and made sure we were hydrated, as it was a very hot day. The food was average, but it was solid for the place being a brewery. I came to Double Mountain to see The Good Long Whiles (AWESOME Portland band) perform, and I'm happy that I did. Overall, Double Mountain is a great place. The good: *The pizza is respectably good *House-made ginger ale is not overly sweet, and is very refreshing *Staff is SUPER friendly, professional, attentive, and overall great *The establishment is clean and big *Chocolate chip cookies are baked to order *There are two large parking lots nearby, so (paid) parking is pretty easy The not so good: *The stage is sort of in its own area, and there was no seating in that area (until later in the evening, when they set up a bunch of tables there) *They do not take reservations, so getting a seat can be challenging on busy nights *Non-alcoholic beverage selection is extremely limited (e.g. there's no iced tea available) I'll definitely be back for future shows, and am looking forward to the next one. read more

Best pizza in Hood River! Legit NY style thin crust pizza with the perfect chew, topped with high quality ingredients. Reminds me of Apizza Scholls in Portland, which imho is the best pizza in Portland. Having lived in NJ for 40 years, I'm both particular and passionate about pizza. We always get a half Margarita, half pepperoni and split a salad, the Caprese or Cesar. The Caprese has delicious mozzarella and large slices of juicy tomatoes drizzled with olive oil and balsamic. In the summer, this is definitely the way to go! They offer lots of craft beer and it's fun to do the flight to sample and compare several. Hard cider is my preference and I'm happy they always have several on tap. You can purchase beer and cider to go and they do growler fills. This is a super popular spot and in the nice weather, there is a long wait. I tend to visit in off hours as I don't have the patience! Service has always been great, sometimes slow when it's crowded, but that understandable since the pies are all made fresh to order. They are worth waiting for! If pizza isn't your thing, there are lots of other options on the menu. The NJ sub is exactly what it should be, an assortment of Italian meat plus provolone topped with shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, hot peppers, oil & vinegar. Totally hits the spot.
