Pesco is a small food cart regularly parked in the Windance Boardshop parking lot. It initially attracted us due to the pictures of various specialty dishes from different regions of Italy. We were most interested in a couple of the dishes, most notably the pettole and arancini. We walked up on a Sunday for lunch and none of the items we wanted were on the menu! The owner mentioned how she rotates all the menu items every month on the 15th, migrating between specialty dishes between regions of Italy for 11 months of the year, then bringing the customer favorites back for the last month. What a unique concept! Unfortunately most of the menu items available didn't interest us that much, so we ended up only ordering the tiramisu. Chef did offer us samples if we were interested which I appreciated. Tiramisu ($8) - The owner warned us when we ordered that she had just made the tiramisu around 30 minutes prior, so the espresso still needed time to soak into the ladyfingers. Electing to get lunch at a different spot, we ended up waiting about 2 hours before digging in. Unfortunately due to being kept cold in our cooler, the bottom layer of ladyfingers still hadn't reached the point of being soaked enough to be tender. Another hour or two outside of the cooler solved the issue. An $8 order contains a pretty large tiramisu square, hand cut and fit snugly into a takeout container. It's such a rich dessert that eating only about a third of it completely filled me up. It's creamy, it's tender, it's sweet, it's thick. It's night and day vs. store bought tiramisu, being probably two or three times the richness of mascarpone and cream, although not cloyingly so. The espresso soaks in well after a couple of hours, giving tenderness to the ladyfingers and an espresso taste that isn't bitter or acrid at all. Yum! (5/5) I don't eat tiramisu all that much, but I loved the one served at Pesco. Given that they have different menu items every month, it seems like this food cart is a great place to visit for plenty of variety. I'll have to keep an eye out the next time I'm in town! read more

After a couple of hours hiking in Mont Hood we were hungry. We decided to give Pesci a try since it was rated so high It did not disappoint. The food tasted like you were eating at a 5 star restaurant. The menu is limited but everything was so fresh and homemade. We didn't have to wait very long for our delicious lunch. read more

A food truck almost hidden in the Treebird Market corner, Pesco has brought quality Italian to Hood River. Loved that the owner welcomes you in a professional chef's jacket as it shows she is serious about her passion. The pasta ~ each dish was cooked perfectly al dente. Flavors authentically matched true Italian cuisine. Seasoned just right. Menu changes regularly, so check website for the fresh sheet. Seating ~ picnic table or eat in vehicle. The drawback of eating in the parking lot is that the gravel dust is kicked up by other cars or wind gusts. *Call ahead ~ entrees made from scratch and so prep takes a longer time that the passerby traveler can afford. read more

Special shout out for the lamb veggie dish, which wasn't a pasta on the menu itself, but when talking to her about the menu and that I was looking for a pasta dish ideally, she explained that pasta can be added to this pasta dish. She proceeded to offer sampling of the various pasta sauces. She is incredibly genuine, passionate about her customers enjoying their meal, and so humble and hospitable. Wish I wasn't from out of town so I can eat here nearly daily. The lamb pasta made you enjoy and savor every bite, so tender, perfect sauce flavor, al dente fresh pasta, just perfection. I agree with the other reviews of this place. It's excellent. We had the lemon pesto and the cauliflower cream pasta. Both were amazing. Both were made to order and didn't take too long. My fiancé and I ate here. We both really enjoyed the food. Service was fast and friendly. We both had a sausage ragu. Noodles were Al dente. Neither the sauce nor the sausage were too salty. Plenty of fresh basil on top along with a scattering of cheese. This was my first Italian food truck meal and it won't be my last. read more

My husband and I were visiting Hood River and loving our time there but we had had our fill of brewery fare and were craving something different. Imagine our excitement when we came across this pasta truck serving true Italian pasta! The woman working there was so kind and cheerful even though she was working on one of the hottest days of the season thus far. Her family is from Italy and she is sharing the recipes she learned from her dad. We ordered a vegetarian and a pork sagne e fagioli, both with a cranberry-bean sauce, which sounds weird but tasted so good. Probably the best pasta we've had since moving to Oregon even though we've been spoiled by the great pasta options in Portland! Pesco changes up their menu to represent different regions of Italy so it makes sense to visit them often to see what new pastas they're offering! I'd be here all the time if I lived closer. We stopped by Pesco while on a drive in the Gorge. Elizabeth serves high-quality regional Italian cuisine, with different regions featured monthly. So thrilled to discover this gem in Hood River! Everything was 5 star! We ordered the focaccia (best I've ever had), peppers and onions, the beef over polenta (like you'd get at a pricey place in NYC) and a fabulous tiramisu (sorry can't recall the official Italian names!) They were all legit amazing!! The only item we wouldn't order next time was the peppers and onions due to the anchovy presence that was a little too much for us. Cannot wait to try more items next time we are in town! My wife & I tried the Italian food cart Pesco. We both had the Pasta Alla Valdostana to go after being offered to try the fontina cream sauce (presumably the owner). It did not disappoint! This is the best Italian food in Columbia river gorge. Creativity and execution reminds me of Gumba in Portland. Every Italian food and pasta fan must come here. Everything feels home made. All textures feel unique and yet familiar. Like that perfect noodle I once timed to cook right! Even their containers are compostable, which is a huge plus cause I often feel bad ordering out for creating trash. It's a food truck but don't let that fool you.. but what happens in that truck is magic! I am a foodie and I can attest to the quality of this food; it is delicious! I had the pasta and duck ragu and I literally pulled off the road because I didn't want to wait to get home! It's a delicious and savory dish with the rich flavor of the duck, seasoned to perfection, and the freshness of the homemade pasta, carrots, onions, and parsley! Great new Italian food in Hood River. I enjoyed my first meal at Pesco this afternoon. Delicious authentic Italian, cooked with love. The Caponata is as good as I've had anywhere. The gluten-free chickpea fritters were fluffy and delicious, especially with Elizabeth's homemade seasoned mayo. The Arborio rice balls with the meat sauce centers were also a treat.
