We had the fortune of stopping by Beneventi's Pizza for a light lunch on our way through the Gorge today. What a great find! Their $5.50 lunch special includes one large slice of pizza with a choice of two toppings from their generous list which includes specialty items like smoked oysters, jalapeños and artichoke hearts. In addition, the special includes the drink of your choice! Our plan was to grab a quick bite to eat so we could power through to dinner, but because the lunch special was so robust, we ended up delaying dinner by several hours. The restaurant is located on the highway going through the center of town, offers ample parking, and is staffed by friendly folks. First off imma start with how amazing the location is considering it's really close to the Sinclair Dino . The pizza was good especially the bbq chicken pizza, it was way better than the Hawaiian fo sho. My mom got the meatball sub and she hit her protein goal for today! The people were nice. While out wine tasting in White Salmon, we needed food and decided to order Beneventi's Pizza and have it delivered. They were happy to accommodate, as was the owner of the wine bar. We ordered a variety of 16" and personal 8" pizzas. My friends ordered theirs with multiple toppings - a green veggie pie, a Hawaiian plus additional sausage and pepperoni, a meat lovers pie - and I got the double pepperoni. All the pizzas arrived hot with cheese melted. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their pizza. My preference is a thinner crust, but their thicker crust was tasty. There was ample sauce, which isn't always the case, and plenty of cheese. I wouldn't say it's the best pizza, but it's darn good, so a solid 4. The customer service and delivery is a 5. We just happen to pass by stopped on our way back to Oregon, we just took a pizza to go and got back to our hotel about 30 minutes later and we were eating it and it is so good that has the most stuff I've ever seen on a pizza. I usually would complain about the price of the 16 inch with everything but this one here was worth every penny thank you, keep up the great work and if we're back this way, we will definitely stop by there. I wanted pizza last night while staying nearby doing some hiking. First visit to Beneventi's...great location with plenty of street parking. The place is unassuming, what you might expect for a small town pizza shop. We placed a phone order for a Caesar salad and two 8 inch pies: a Hawaiian surfer and a chicken/onion. Everything came out on time and to order. To be totally honest, my chicken pizza wasn't my fav. It wasn't bad by any means, I just didn't love the flavor of the chicken used and the sauce wasn't as spicy as I prefer. My husband, however, really loved his Hawaiian. The salad was your typical Caesar, but they provided plenty of dressing on the side, which a lot of places don't do with take-out. While the pizza wasn't ideal for me personally, it was greatly appreciated by the hubby. It should also be noted that the service was friendly and fabulous...and that goes a long way. Let me start by saying I was beyond pleased with the portions, the large calzone could easily feed three people, and it was VERY reasonably priced. Along with the amazing food, the service was wonderful. Our server was speedy with a very pleasant personality. When there was a slight hiccup with the food our server quickly responded with amazing customer service offering the entree paid for on the house with a free appetizer to follow. Best pizza ever. We can't decide on the taco or enchilada so do half/half. Have never been disappointed. We get a large so we can have leftovers. The salad bar and soup is closed due to Covid, but they will fix each individually. Their clam chowder is delicious, too. Clean place and nice staff. read more

We ordered what we thought was a $35 meal, and were billed for $50--an amount I would rarely pay for 2 people. The cashier explained that when I was asked by the waitress if I wanted chips or fries with my sandwich, and I said fries--I was charged $3! And when my boyfriend asked for the gluten-free crust--that was an extra $5--and we weren't informed of the price difference. Also, the prices in the menu were ignored--each of our meals was at least $1 more than it was listed for. They agreed to remove the cost of the fries, only. I'm regretting leaving a tip, now, because the waitress could have informed of these price increases, when we ordered, but did not. read more

Great, old school, pizzeria! We happened upon this place when the first restaurant we stopped at in Hood River had stopped making pizzas (which was the majority of their menu) due to the hot temps. We called Beneventi's and they confirmed they were open and pizzas were available! The server was super friendly and their food was delicious. Aaaaaaaand BUMMER. Same thing as last time, I swear. Please train your staff to be patient, even on a busy night. I know that customer service isn't always the greatest job however if you have that job, I believe proper training is needed. Your staff should not make me feel stupid or like a "yuppie" (which the tall blond girl whispered to her coworker about me I'm sure) because I need gluten free crust for my Celiac Disease. My current home of Boston is terrible for pizza. It really doesn't want to give New York any credit and uses that mindset as an excuse to make terrible, oily pizza in pans. Thus, when I come out 3,000 miles, go on a day trip to the Gorge and find great pizza in a mill town, I get incredibly depressed. Beneventi's looks like an '80s to mid-'90s pizza place in the NY or NJ suburbs, and that's a high compliment. Red, bottomless tumblers of soda, a lunch buffet, a salad bar, an actual arcade in back for the kids... and pizza and meatball sandwiches made the right way. My cousin pointed me toward the calzone, which she said was hard to find in the NW. If that's the case, the entire NW should have the calzone here. We sat in a booth by the window for more than an hour watching the train go by, having beers and eating great pizza and apps. It's an amazing little place that I won't forget anytime soon. read more
