Great portions, bold flavors, and friendly service. Fresh, made-to-order pizza! 10/10 would recommend after a day on the mountain.

Delicious pizza, fair price. We also ordered a salad and it was so good. I strongly recommend this place!

Backwoods Brewing Company - Whistle Punk pizza

Great service, great drinks, and the best pizza I've had in decades!…read more The beers Backwoods makes are all delicious and smooth-drinking. The service staff was all exceptional. But the pizza! Off the charts!, FULL REVIEW of all Services: If anyone who enjoys hiking, river fishing, or just a general outdoor-focused vacation wants a good, simple getaway with their spouse/loved one, check out the Backwoods brand in Carson, Washington (just north-northeast of Bridge of the Gods/Cascades Locks). Backwoods Cabins offers a really great overnight stay option. The 8 cabins there are all basic "two-room" designs (bedroom and attached bathroom, and a living room / mini-kitchen room). The cabins sport king-sized beds, a gas fireplace and outdoor fire, a mini kitchen with refrigerator/freezer and microwave (no stove/range). I think 3 of the 8 cabins welcome dogs. The Backwoods brand also owns Backwoods Brewery, which is just across the road from the cabin property. They have great microbrew beers (from light lagers to GREAT stouts!). The brewery also has a smokehouse, with fantastic smoked brisket, pulled pork, and house-made sausage/brats. But even better, the Backwoods Brewery offers the BEST PIZZA I've had in decades. The pizza dough is a perfect balance of flavor and texture. It's not too thin and not too thick. The crust is chewy in the middle, with a great crusty edge and base. The red sauce (they also have a white sauce we didn't try) is thick and rich, with a few tomato chunks. It's got a slight spicy bite with a sweet finish. They also have some unique house pizzas. We tried the Whistle Punk - Red sauce, bacon, smoked brisket, peppadew peppers, sweet onions, fresh mozzarella rounds - and the Pepperoni Express - Red sauce, pepperoni, mushrooms, tomatoes, banana peppers, smoked mozzarella. Both were outstanding. I'd go so far as to say both Donna and I deemed these the best pizzas we've had in 35+ years (noting that our first date was at a pizza joint in Fife we both thought was the best-ever pizza). If you stay in the Backwoods Cabins, you get two coupons for free drinks at the brewery (beer/wine/cider/cocktails) as well as an assortment of snacks for your hiking adventures, and a full S'mores kit to use over the gas fire pit. And if you are in a dog-friendly cabin, you get complimentary treats, and water/food bowls for your canines.

Gluten free review:…read more Came here after a hike because I believe in balance, climb a hill, eat a pizza. Thrilled they had gluten-free options. Tried the Tree Hugger 10" GF pizza and it was genuinely tasty. The crust? So good. The staff? Kind. The price? About $20, which felt a little "ouch," but the pizza did not, and that's what matters. The place was fun and great ambiance. Take a fun trip and go try this place out.

I got takeout pizza and it was ok, nothing special. Service was a bit lacking…read more I got the Papa Rex (large $30) which has tomato, mozzarella, sausage, pepperoni, salami, bell pepper, olive, red onion, mushroom. The pizza was pretty doughy and flimsy on the bottom. Toppings were average. I picked this pizza because it was the most normal on the menu. I'm all for interesting, unusual pizzas, but none of the other ones on their menu appealed to me. They are weird, but not my taste. It took awhile to make the pizza; they told me 20 minutes on the phone and it was more like 30. It turns out this was because they had to remake it. According the guy working there, their oven has a weird spot in it and created a hole in part of the pizza. They remade it, and it came out the same way; you can see the hole in the in the bottom right of the photo, under some toppings. They offered to remake it a third time, but I didn't want to wait any longer and I doubted it would turn out differently. They didn't offer me the first version of the pizza or a discount for the hole or the extra wait time.

Spectacular. This is the best food in town and anytime I'm hosting or celebrating with a dinner…read moreout, this is where I'll go. Pizza: awesome. Just creative-enough pies on the best dough. They even sell dough for taking and making at home! Ambience: cute and small, love the outdoor seating but easy to take to the park. Service: shines here. Everyone I've met behind the counter is so kind and friendly. Easy to chat with, just the best!

We got there super early and opted to sit outside since the weather was so nice. The service was fantastic and our waitress was super friendly. We discovered that she has ties to KC so I always love that. I started with an Adeline blackberry sour. It's pretty to look at and so delicious to drink. Sours in Oregon are hands down the best. I wish we had more of it in KC but I highly recommend that you get sours and ciders if you're in the PNW. For lunch I ordered the Club Sandwich: Sweetheart ham, hickory-smoked turkey, Tillamook white cheddar, Applewood smoked bacon; topped with lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo. It normally comes on sourdough but I swapped it out for ciabatta. First off, it's a HUGE club sandwich. Lots of meat that had amazing flavor. Not some sad deli sandwich at all. The ciabatta had great chew and complemented the sandwich perfectly. No complaints here! Did I eat it all? Yes, and that was a great plan because it kept me going for the next 24 hours that ended up being a cluster that resulted in no food being available. Sandwiches come with chips or a garden salad but I opted for a different side with an up charge. Let's talk about the Oregon Blue Salad: spring mix, dried cranberries, honeycrisp apples, Rogue Creamery Oregon Blue crumbles, and maple candied walnuts; tossed in an apple cider vinaigrette. So GOOD! You can get it by itself and it would make a great meal. Everything was so fresh. Again, not a single complaint. If you are ever in the area, please stop in. Everything was amazing and I can't wait until I return. Double Mountain is on my list to come back to! Highly recommend!

We placed an order the night before Thanksgiving for delivery to our vacation rental for one pizza…read more It stated when I placed the order that it would be an hour wait time, which is what I expected on a probably busy night before a holiday. After an hour we called to check on our pizza and were told that they didn't see the order and would check and call us back. I then called again and asked about the order and asked for the order just to be refunded at that time as it was after 7pm. We left to go get food and while we were out I received a call from my brother stating that the pizza had arrived. The owner made the pizza, delivered it to us and proceeded to refund us for the order as well. In my opinion that is going out of your way to make it right, it was unnecessary for him to drive the pizza to us himself and then not charge us for it. I would love to try this location again the next time we are on the mountain to give them a second try.
