    NY strip - huge!
    Kurt P.

Dinner for 5 the other night. Summary: wonderful, worth it. "Rustic" interior, but the food is good. Menu is eclectic, with some interesting Polish selections which unfortunately we did not try. Do try their dry-aged steaks if they have them available (ask). The NY strip was absolutely huge, never seen on that big. I made the mistake of ordering a salad and did not ask for it to be served with my entree, so I had a lone steak to eat when they came out, and you really need something to take a break from gnawing on meat. My daughter enjoyed her dry aged ribeye so much that she wanted to go back the next weekend! My wife had the steak salad, and it came with a very generous portion of meat (see photo). Definitely a great choice for carnivores!

Fettuccine Alfredo w/Pesto & Shrimp, amazing!

It was a busy place last Saturday night with a 20-minute wait in the bar. Had the ribeye with sauted mushrooms and a salad with blue cheese. Good quality meat cooked right on an open flame grill. Local beer on tap. Our server was great. Locals in the bar area mentioned the crowd slims down in the next few weeks after the vacationers return home. Fun place.

Beef Cheeks, garlic bread, salad and chowder.

Wanted a nice dinner on our first night in Hood River. Found the Mesquitery on Yelp and decided to give it a try. We were NOT disappointed. Their web site address is a bit pretentious, but the food was excellent. We had the Beef Cheeks (split with 3 sides). We shared the garlic bread, my wife had chowder and I had a salad. All we're very very good. The Beef Cheeks were tender, flavorful and did not need a knife to cut. They basically fell into pieces when you touched them with the fork. The Cabernet was also very good with good legs.

We traveled to Hood River today. We had a yearning for steak, and saw this place had good reviews. We got there a bit after 5, plenty of seating was available. The staff were friendly, and prompt. I ordered the 20oz Porterhouse, my wife got the 14oz Prime Rib. OMG, they were delicious!! My wife never eats a whole steak, but she ate the whole thing. They were cooked to perfection! There is a glass separation, so you can watch the cooking process. We (I) followed it with the caramel pecan cheesecake. Yummy! This place is a hidden gem! We would definitely eat here again!

We sat in the bar area because they were busy but I think the dining room wolf have been nicer. The cheese bread was good and husband enjoyed his pierogis. My steak was cooked medium rare, just like I wanted. Wished the vegetables had more variety and I didn't enjoy the rice pilaf, but the Alfredo pesto pasta was so good!

I'd give Riverside Restaurant a solid 4.5 stars based on our breakfast visit…read more I ordered the chilaquiles, and they were excellent, flavorful, still pleasantly crunchy where they should be, and just a really strong version of the dish. Definitely the standout of the table for me. Service was friendly and expedient, which I always appreciate in the morning when everyone is trying to get caffeinated and out the door. My companions ordered the protein bowl, which was a hearty mix of grains and grilled vegetables with your choice of tofu or egg. It leaned a little bland flavor-wise, but it did exactly what it needed to do: provided a filling, healthy base for a full day of activity in Hood River. Not every dish was a knockout, but overall it was a very solid breakfast spot with fair pricing at about $18 per dish.

One of the members of our group told him that she was told that we could order until 5:00 pm. Server said OK and left. He didn't come back until after 5:00 and took the happy hour menus and said we couldn't order off of that menu. It was pretty much down hill from there on for me. The food was OK nothing to write home about. I had lemonade for dinner it was $6.00 a glass and if you wanted another glass it was 6.00 again. They also included the tip on your bill and it was 22%. The server did not earn that high of a tip.

If it's not safe i'd rather someone just tell me. This kid wrote down "celiac" 3 different times acted like he understood what celiac was and the precautions. I think received my sandwich and asked if it was the gluten free bread, he looks at me like that was the craziest thing to ask. Takes it back comes back out with the gluten free bread on the same plate and told me to change the bread off the sandwich which is not at all how celiac works. He then took it back a third time after i asked for a refund and told me it was gluten free but it was the same bread as the first time. I know this review won't help everyone but hopefully it'll help someone. I saw a few other people with celiac said it was safe and i'm glad they had a good experience. But I got incredibly sick and it's insane to me that they didn't just tell me no. Will now be sick for 3 days so thanks.

Not a friendly place for large groups…read more We were really the only group of people in there and I thought we'd get good service because of that. Our group came in two chunks and the host seemed annoyed by that. They pushed together another table and sat us together. It was kinda stuffy in the place so I opened up a window as it needed some fresh air. I was told it would possibly mess up the airflow of their kitchen? Some of us decided to split from the main group and sit out on the patio because of the stuffiness. The menu is for carnivores with a veggie burger and grill cheese for vegetarians but not really anything but chips and salsa for vegans. We also found out they only take 1 credit card and cash and no split bills. We were a large group of 14 people. It was a huge pain in the rear to figure out the mess. Honestly some of our party left and went elsewhere when they find that out. Not everyone had enough cash to cover them. When my burger came out they served it to the wrong person and we didn't figure it out for at least 10 minutes. So I got an already eaten plate. It was ok but they should be able to know who ordered what. Our waitress seemed annoyed by us and honestly not that friendly. My burger was overcooked and tasted like cardboard. There were no condiments like mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise on the table. We had to go get some. Just not a good experience here. I won't be back. I ordered my burger and fries and asked for it cooked medium.

I've never had a bad meal at this delicious restaurant! The service is always friendly too.read more
