Best bakery I've ever been to and, if you're visiting the Columbia River Gorge, you must stop here. Every item we ordered was a hit, from the danish, cookie, avocado toast, to the breakfast sandwich. There will likely be a line out the door but it's worth the wait. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. We even brought our pup. Staff are friendly and super fast! They know how to move the line and churn out loaves of bread quickly. Super impressive to watch. Thanks for the great Mother's Day breakfast. :)

Great fast, friendly service. We loved the salmon tartine and the Croque Madam was a favorite. We left with a box full of fresh baked goods. Plenty of outdoor seating. Easy parking

One of my favorite bakeries! My husband and I always have to stop here when we're driving through on our way to a hike. They have a lot of fun and unique pastries, delicious bread, and incredible ambiance (insane views of mount hood from the outdoor seating). Everything I've tried has been amazing, some of my favorites being the olive loaf, rosemary sticky bun, parsnip date cake, butterscotch blondie, rhubarb hand pie, and the chocolate hazelnut babka! Haven't been lucky enough to snag a cinnamon roll but I've heard those are also amazing. Looking forward to my next visit!

believe the hype from all these yelp reviews. absolute gem of a bakery/cafe in White Salmon. It has a large dedicated parking lot, ample seating indoors and outdoors on the patio. The pastries with interesting flavor combinations. As we had already eaten a large breakfast, we got the ginger cookie. It was absolutely delicious - crispy on the edges, soft and chewy in the middle. The sugar crystals on top gave it the right amount of sweetness to the robust flavor of the molasses and ginger. So good! The drinks are equally great - robust and rich. The macchiato was one of the best and the matcha is fantastic as well. Service is friendly and the store is cute. you can see the team making pastries as well. Very cool and glad we stopped by!

If you are ever near this bakery I would definetely stop by if you can! While I was there I had the Croque Madame and the Smoked Salmon Tartine. The smoked salomon was "good" but the croque madame was "AMAZING" and I would get it again. While I was there I also purchased the white rustic sourdough which I have no regrets about. It was not sour but nice and soft/ airy on the inside.

Good pastries, delicious, but I'm upset at how I see these pastries being treated here. The pastry enclosure was packed full will all kinds of pastries crammed together in one space. This is so out of date. Maybe this was fine back in the day before the Sinclair Dino was petrified and cloned but nowadays we understand that enclosures need ample space and the environments should be species specific. Muffins were shoulder to shoulder with cookies and cakes! I rescued several and brought them out to the wild where they could enjoy their final days. It felt like a pastry zoo in there. BUT WORSE. You must see for yourself because what I've seen is unjust

Pulled pork sandwich - generous portion!

Lunch for two here yesterday. Busy place. I like the atmosphere - if you're here at the right time you can watch the bakers at work. Nice selection of pastries and breads, but I had the pulled pork sandwich special and my wife had the Tuscan bean soup with sausage which came with a couple slices of baguette so we at least got a chance to sample 2 of their breads. Both were very generous portions, good value for the price. My sandwich was flavorful and the bread it was on was excellent but a little over-toasted, it tore up the roof of my mouth a bit. The soup was excellent, but be forewarned it had some pretty good heat to it. We are here for a couple of weeks so we'll be back to try some of their wonderful-looking pastries!

Beautiful local bakery with lots of options! The hype is well worth it. Kind of slow to get baked food (30 minutes) but worth the wait.

Saw this place while eating lunch nearby and the menu looked good so we decided to come back for dinner. While we would have preferred to sit outside, there was no availability. They sat us right next to the window though so it was basically like we were outside anyways so no complaints there. The bone marrow to start was a fantastic choice. I love bone marrow and this one did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked and great flavor I was getting every little bit out. For my main I was conflicted but decided to go with the octopus. I ate every bite of food on my plate it was so good. Octopus can be tough and chewy but this one was cooked so perfectly that I wished there was more. The sauce had a slightly spice to it as well which was really good especially on the potatoes.

They have plenty of outdoor seating for your little pups, though the water dish they left out was unattended to. As far as food, they had a whole plant-based menu to meet my vegan needs. More important, they were able to make a gluten-free sandwich for my partner with celiac. They took precautions to minimize cross-contact with gluten items, including wrapping the sandwich up separately and bringing it out to us first before bringing out our gluten containing items. The three in our group had mixed reviews on the food quality. I enjoyed my reuben very much. My partner and his mom thought their food was okay, and their portions were too small for the price. As far as the actual store goes, they carry a lot of what your typical natural foods store or food co-op would carry, though the prices seem more along the lines of what a Whole Foods would charge. For example, $3.50 for a single avocado. Considering that they are a small business in a somewhat touristy town, I guess that is a sound business decision. All in all, a good experience, just expect to pay a little more if you are going to shop or eat there!

I usually go with the turkey which has turkey, white cheddar, tomato, pickles, onion, lettuce, and hot mustard. Everyone else is already finishing up their drinks and meals. Wanting just one drink after a long day, I head to the bar! My wife asks me to get her one too. Here's where it gets bizarre. Kickstand has a bar...well, it looks like a bar. But what I found out is that it's just for looks because it doesn't act like a bar. I thought ordering two cocktails and paying for my drinks would be easy, like it is at every bar in town. But the bartender, I mean employee standing behind a bar, asked if I was with the large group. I stated, "yes, I was." Then she proceeded to tell me that the drinks would be on someone's tab. But I showed up late...I don't know what's happening. I don't know who's paying for the "tab". I just wanted to buy two drinks and walk away. But that wasn't allowed at Kickstand. Then another employee walks up and attempts to take my drink order. Super confused, I tell her the employee standing behind the bar just took my drink order. And then we proceeded down the tab conversation again. The second employee said because "we" were a party of 8 or more, I couldn't pay for my own drinks and I they would have to put it on the party's tab. But again, I don't know who owns the tab. If it was the woman having the birthday, I didn't want to add to her bill...on her birthday. Then they suggested I "could just Venmo" the party girl. No! I want to just order two drinks and have Kickstand take my money. Why wouldn't they just take my money?! The place was dead tonight, other than the 5 or so small daycarel families, sitting at their own tables, that made up the "party". I canceled my drink order and walked away out of protest and principal. When asked if I was with the big party, I should have said no I guess. Lesson leaned for next time, if there is a next time. Kickstand, you're so difficult and frustrating!!
