This made for a great stop after being stuck in traffic for an hour. The beers are really good, especially the in the tubing travelers lager, fields of gorge hefeweizen and devils rest black ipa. First time here after our trip to Bonneville Hatchery. Since my nephew was hungry and we were also in the mood for beer and eats, we stopped here to satisfy those cravings in early September. Seating is mainly on the rooftop where you get a nice overlook of the Cascade Locks neighborhood. The beer list is mainly handcrafted beers from Oregon so if you're looking for domestic items such as Coors light or Bud light, this ain't your location. We did some Kolschs and the Day Hike Pale Ales. The Pale Ale is tasty and easy to drink. My sister likes the Kolsch although it didn't appeal to my girlfriend as it was a bit sour for her. She did like the Pale Ale so I had to order another one for her. As for food, I went with the farmers salad and the wings while my sister got the classic cheeseburger and my girlfriend went with the chicken sandwich. The food came out pretty quick and we dug in. The salad was bigger than I expected and I loved the beets and bacon with the goat cheese mixed in. As for the wings, I could've done without those as they came out dry and tough. The sauce is pretty good (hazy ipa buffalo) which I'm sure would amplify the flavor of the wings if they weren't so stiff. My girlfriend and sister both enjoyed their chicken sandwich and burger. I probably should've ordered one of those cause they looked tasty. My nephew ordered the kids chicken tenders w/ fries. He ate them and didnt' complain which is a good thing. The location also hosts events such as weddings and engagement parties; not surprised given the views of the area and the access to the beer. Apparently there's also a Gorges Beer location directly in Southeast Portland if you don't want to go all the way to Cascade Locks. This spot is alright; my nephew enjoys it here so I'll probably be here again when we visit the Hatchery next time we come. read more

First time in. This place is winner winner winner, for craft beer on tap, good grub to feed the hungry tub and a convivial place for meet up. Tap is awesome, especially a handful of IPAs. I was in with friends from mountain biking in the area and we were hungry and thirsty. IPA was great. The Wagyu burger with Gruyere cheese and caramelized onions was big and delicious - put your bib on. It's gonna get a little messy and that's the way I like it. it was hot so we sat in cool bar with a cold frosty IPA. Mountain View across the Columbia river. Three stories - lots of places to sit inside. Second story deck outside but a little hot this afternoon. I bet the evening is awesome. Great craft brews and sandwiches. Been here twice to meet up with friends in the Gorge. It's a big, modern and clean looking place with big windows to admire the surroundings. They also have a nice upper level patio for when the weather is nice. The food is solid. Last time I ate here, I got an entree and a few shareables with my friend. I really enjoyed the baked feta and crostini. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip with pita instead of tortilla chips, which was a nice addition. My falafel gyro was alright, but it was hard to eat because of how big it was/it felt a little dry. The fries were nice, though! My friend also got the Mediterranean skewers. I think it's a great spot in Cascade Locks to meet up or enjoy some food and refreshments post-hike. read more

We arrived at 10:50 and it was open. Super cool space. 3 stories of space and the people who ran it were there telling us about the space and what happens in the summer. Beer was excellent. The crab cakes were super fresh and so good. We also had the cheese curds and those were great as well. We will definitely be back. This was the first meal I ate after completing a 20 mile backpacking trip! So it's hard to say how much was the food itself and how much was the exhaustion. The chicken sandwich was GOOD and I consider myself to be a chicken sandwich connoisseur. Fries were nicely seasoned. You order via a QR code and pay on your phone so there wasn't much to say for the service but it was fairly fast. This place is weirdly huge, like three stories so I can't imagine it filling up quickly. It had a nice atmosphere with a really beautiful view from the patio. Wedding Review July 2024 Our experience as a couple from California having a destination wedding at Gorges Brewery using their outdoor tent venue with about 100 guest. While there was a lot of good to say, the negatives are what we think will bring the most value to future couples. These are easily fixable issues by the management. Day of the wedding: -Event space & bathrooms were not cleaned prior to us setting up the morning of the wedding. -Continuously empty water stations during a heat wave causing our guests to complain. -The dinner buffet food trays went empty halfway through the food line and the staff had to go to the brewery to get more food in a van and drive it back to the tent. It was embarrassing for us that our guests couldn't get food. -Management did not tell us that the indoor brewery portion would be closed all day (Saturday) for a private event. We had guests show up early to have a beer and were turned away at the door. -Short Staffed - they had 4 employees working our event of 100 guests. A staff member told us that two employees called out, so they were short staffed. We do want to give a "Shout Out" to the staff working our event. They were awesome and we appreciated all their hard work. Post Wedding: -Travis Preece, the owner, sent us an email claiming we caused "1-2k" worth of damage and he doesn't have our wedding insurance policy. (We emailed it to him 3 months prior in April). We addressed how we didn't agree with most of the photos in our response. He claimed that the bride must be a liar about having wedding insurance and that we should just cut him a check for $580 and be done. We reiterated to him that the policy was already sent to him in April and that we hope to have a beer there again someday. His last response was that he found it, and he "never" wants to speak to us again. For future couples, even though the venue and location are beautiful, the Gorges Brewery is not a 5-star venue & the owner needs to work on his professionalism. read more

Great view of the Columbia river out of the windows and especially on the rooftop deck. Food was delicious, they said they updated the menu in the last couple of months and they knocked it out of the park. Burgers were thick, juicy and flavorful. Fried Chicken sandwich was outstanding, there is a lot of competition in the burger and chicken game and they deliver fantastic options. Beer and cocktails were also tasty. Staff were friendly as well. After a day of hiking the waterfalls this is a must stop. read more

We found this place while visiting Cascade Locks and liked it so much we came here 2 days in a row! Food (4/5): We had the beef sliders with bacon. They were delicious though I removed a star cause the price was soo high ($18). We had the kids meal the second time ($7) - the fries were cold and not good (they seemed to be old) and the chicken "tenders" was a fried chicken patty. Drinks were good, as well - for beers, we had the Multnomah Hazy IPA, blood orange IPA and the Paloma. Service (5/5): They have a QR code that allows you to order and pay for food, drinks and merchandise. They bring you the food very quickly and you can continue to order before you finally have to close out. Atmosphere (5/5): This place is soo cute and modern and nicely decorated. I was lucky to get street parking but there is also a parking lot. - the facility was cool three level building and a deck on the top floor all with elevator access. Of course, our food did not arrive anywhere timely to our other orders. On buddy's orders didn't even make into the system because of the confusion of the system. He thought his order was in and up until I got my food and second beer he was sure. It took two food handlers to show him what to press. ITS THE SYSTEM NOT THE CUSTOMER! Food was ok. Tacos were bland. I guess you have to put some sauce on them. Peppers were great (should have put them on the tacos), frys were ok. Cost with two beers was $55. That's expensive! - The staff were great but were limited to what the owner allowed them to do. They did their best to help the customers. CoVid is over so git back to server/waiter business motto. Your customers will be happier, your servers will be happier and your business will grow this summer. - Beer, I tried a few different IPAs and found them just OK. After visiting Bridge of the Gods, we were ready to chillax with a local brew. Seated immediately was nice except the tables were not cleaned prior. We asked if the table could be sanitized and a blank stare began our dining experience. Waiting a good moment to order, we finally flagged a server for menus. We were told to use the QR code with our phones otherwise our order cannot be processed. Sigh. Curious about their brews, I asked what they recommend. Again told to use the phone for descriptions. Sigh. The website automatically charges a tip before you even have any service. You will be charged a tip each time you order. Food came out. We had to ask for plates and silverware. I worked at this venue as a DJ. It rained all day which makes any gig more difficult. Kelly was managing and they did a great job. The staff was hardworking attentive and courteous. The food was good that they made for the wedding. They have multiple locations to stage and set up for couples and bridal parties. I would recommend this venue as the area was beautiful and the variety of spots makes it easier and more fun for events. Overall was very happy with the staff and venue. Whew...what a joke. Dirty, staff that just don't care, and obviously poorly managed. We had wanted to visit for a while, and we came in on a beautiful day to a nearly empty bar. I don't have the patience to list everything that went wrong , but the quick notes are the establishment is unkempt , it is unlikely you will get items you ordered, and the staff just could not care less. No need to comment on the beer (it was horrible) since taste is subjective. You're better off going next door to the market to get a 6 pack and a bag of Doritos. I bookmarked this place the last time I was in Cascade locks since it just opened. I was hiking in the area and came here afterwards for brunch and it did not disappoint. They have a parking area in the back and even seems they do private events for like weddings in the back. They have plenty of space but I was able to enjoy the sun on their patio deck area where you have beautiful views! They were even dog friendly in the back and had water bowls which was super nice. It's overall a very indoor/outdoor type of space which is great and also very clean! Even in the outdoor space they have QR codes so you can order/pay online so you can just leave after your meal. For brunch their sliders, fries, and croque madam were all delicious! I split both items with a friend and it was just the right amount of food to share. For drinks I would recommend their apricot golden ale. read more

The process to order was a bit confusing and unless you've been there before, you're going to sit around waiting along time before someone comes over to explain that you have to scan the QR, download to your phone, order, and pay through your phone before they bring you anything. Kinda sucks for them because I felt it affected the tip and didn't make it inviting to order anything else. The food was over priced if you ask me. $15 for sliders (just sliders) and $6 for fries with sea salt and a dipping sauce. $11 for a flight of some pretty average beers...really nothing to write home about. Nice location. Plenty of space inside. Minimal bar set up for basic drinks. Music is bumping. There's some games set up around (shuffleboard and cornhole). I stopped by to order some sliders to go. First time and last time. As I'm writing this I've been waiting for half an hour. I was told 10-15 minutes for food. I came up to ask after 20 and I got a confused look. Then they went to the he kitchen to find out what happened. Order didn't go through. She kept asking me if I had paid already. I don't take receipts so I had to pull up my bank account to show the pending charge. She asked me if I still wanted them? Kept pointing out how their system is ridiculous and messed up. I said sorry. And I'm sorry for stopping by here because I just lost 45 minutes of my time. As I'm sitting here writing this review the the bar/hostess came and said she'll comp me a couple beers to go for my trouble. $15 for two tiny sliders and a couple of beers isn't bad I guess, but for $15 I could've got a burger with fries down the road. We stopped by this place before heading home to Hood River. They had just opened for the day and had photos of some delicious food. We ordered via QR code. The fry's we received were surprisingly cold. And the couple next to us, I heard mention the same thing. When the waitress cleared their table the fry's were practically untouched. I was surprised since they just opened, shows the cooks decided to mass prep fry's and didn't care to keep them warm. The Mario berry margarita was so tart it was hard to finish. We had 3 servers pass our table and not offer water to us nor a bowl for our puppy. We tried the blackberry frozen margarita on a beautiful hot day and it tasted like melted salt. Friendly staff but pretty chill on a weekday. We had the entire rooftop patio to ourselves. Dog friendly on the patios on the first floor or the rooftop. Card only and if you aren't from the states, the app doesn't allow other zip codes/postal codes so you have to go down to order and pay each time. Not very impressed with the service or the food menu. Beer is good tho. I was in there today. I was asked to scan a QR code if I wanted to order anything. They told me to use the online ordering service to place my order. I paid $15 for 3 very small sliders (delicious by the way) but not very impressive or filling for a meal price of $15. The beer was reasonable on price though, for craft beer. The beer tasted great. I sat at the bar top. I could hear the point of sale printer, printing out tickets. The bartender claimed she hadn't gotten them. Which she may not have. Who knows. But, I waited way too long for another beer considering there wasn't hardly anyone in the facility, and my glass was visually directly in front of her. I actually had to verbally say, "I ordered another beer" and showed her my tab where I had rang it up myself. I was sitting at the bar top, with an empty glass for more than 10 minutes, which was incredibly frustrating since the bartender didn't seem to have much going on. Not sure if it was an error with the QR code online system, or an inattentive bartender. The staff was friendly and nice, no doubt. But, seems like the system they are using isn't efficient for the customer. If you're looking for the good old days of dining and having someone ask you for your order, and then bring it to you in a timely manner, this is not the place to go. read more

We had driven all the way from Bend, and decided to pass Hood River because we've always enjoyed Gorges, the view and beer (and food). It was my hubby's birthday. We arrived around 3 and there were no people downstairs or the 2nd floor. A few people (maybe 8) on the top deck 3rd floor. We were happy and marched inside and were stopped right away stating that there was a 40min wait. We said we just wanted a beer and take it upstairs then, but she said NO, they were only seating upstairs and there was a wait. Not very friendly or accommodating. We had to drive back to Bend, before dark and didn't want to wait, so we went to Thunder Island Brewing instead, and treated well and had a beer and dinner with a view. We will never eat at a QR only restaurant again. This was a first and last. It was very impersonal and the staff seemed like they would rather be anywhere but there. All the patrons seemed confused by it all and out of place. Very odd, cold and impersonal atmosphere. It took forever to get our lukewarm water and even longer to get our food. Once we got our food it took several more minutes to get utensils. As for the food: -hamburger lacked flavor -French fries were oily and soft, but did have good flavor once we added salt -Brussel sprouts were delicious -Risotto mushroom rice was very good and flavorful -Hot apple cider came with alcohol, which I did not order. The wait times were ridiculous and their order system was utterly awful to use and confusing and on top of that the order of who got their food first seemed completely disorganized. I am pretty sure my order was wrong, but I ate it anyway as I was hungry after a long hike, while I got my food also my group had to wait an hour only to end up having one other person next to me get their food. My burger bun was like biting into a hard wafer. The flavor of the actual meat patty was mediocre at best. The fries were cold and I had to get new fries which were also ok at best.
