We eat here often so you know its good! I love the crackin brussels which are a bit crunchy on the outside and moist inside with incredible flavor! ADDICTING. I also order the steak bites and together makes a tasty meal. Big enough I take half of each home for a meal later. My usual go to is the Taphouse Burger. I often add a second patty. I love the bacon relish and the added jalepeno slices help make this soooo good. Anything you get will make you happy, We love the plentiful order of fries, The Cuban is also good. After a flight and drive up to Stevenson, we needed to grab a bite to eat, and the wedding party we were apart of had eaten here the day before so we decided to give it a try. For starters we tried the porky's revenge - which is supposedly hot made to order chicharones topped with pulled pork, beer cheese sauce, and other fixings. The chicharones weren't hot temperature wise, and while the flavors of the toppings were good, I think these on fries would be better. Most the of chicharones ended up getting soggy real quick, but the crispy bites were good. Don't know if I'd order again but it sounded so good that we had to give it a try. We also got a spinach dip, which was alright. The chips it came with actually went better with the porky's revenge. For my main, I decided to go with their 'shoulda gouda woulda' burger with their homemade bacon jam, beef patty, fixings, and truffle aioli sauce. The burger patty itself wasn't super filling and the bacon jam kind of overpowered the entire burger. Not sure if I'd get again, I'd probably just go for a regular burger next time. My girlfriend got the poke bowl, which was surpingsly decent. While it was 75% rice, the other flavors were fresh tasting. Not a bad option if you are looking for something healthier and lighter. We came in around 12-1pm, and the restaurant wasn't super busy so we got seated and served right away. Everyone we encountered was super nice and were good about checking in on us throughout the meal. The fish portions were haddock and were larger in size. Very flaky very delicious. It came with coleslaw and fries. A generous amount of fries for sure. My sister had the tuna salad with large pieces of tuna. She said it was also very good. My wife had the The brisket sandwich. It seems like it would be good, but for my personal taste, it was a little bit on the dry side. My father-in-law had the Aoba, which was really good. I had a generous amount of shrimp in it. Big pub-style restaurant in picturesque Stevenson, WA! Both the inside & outside patios have plenty of room - there are even 2 patios, an upper one with a view of the town & Gorge (they aren't right on the river, but situated up on a bluff a few blocks over), and a lower courtyard patio that I'm guessing they open for special events. The service was friendly and quick. The guy that seated us even recognized the brewery ballcap The Hubs was wearing and made a beer recommendation based on the style of beers that brewery is known for. They have a good variety of local beers on tap, along with cocktails & N/A options. For our meal we had the Chicken Katsu sammie with fries & the Shoulda Gouda Woulda burger with coleslaw, and it was all delicious. Gluten-free buns are available for an upcharge. They smoke their own pulled pork and they also sometimes do different smoked meat specials, which was ribs on the Saturday night we were there, and they smelled soooo good. I really liked the way it was prepared. My only complaint is the reduced apple cider. It was too sweet, a reduction of apple cider and apple cider vinegar would had be been perfect. Monday, June 3, 2024. Dinner. I sat at the bar, since this place was packed with fellow work conference attendees that I didn't know. The bartender was super accommodating by splitting my bill into two. Beer on one, food on the other. Note: this establishment is closed on Wednesdays. They close at 8:30 PM on Sunday through Thursday and at 9 PM on Friday and Saturday nights. This place opened its doors in 2016 and has been going strong since. They had 14 local beers on tap and 2 ciders. The bartender let me sample beers 1-5, which included the Breakside pilsner (5.2%), Recluse Czech pilsner (4.8%), Recluse Fire and Flowers spring bock pale ale (6.8%), Chuckanut Kolsch (4.5%) and the Barrel Mountain Be Happy Hefeweizen (4.7%). I bought pints ($7 /each) of the pale ale and the Breakside pilsner. The kolsch and the hefeweizen tasted "off". They just strayed away too far from style guidelines. I ordered the Double Stacked BLT ($15) and upgraded to a double decker (extra layer of bacon, lettuce and tomato) for an additional $3. The double decker comes with 2 layers of bacon, lettuce and tomato between Texas Toast with a wonderful garlic aioli sauce. The bartender told me that the garlic aioli sauce really makes the sandwich. I agreed. I upgraded my side to garlic parmesan fries ($2 more), which were magnificent. They melted in my mouth! They didn't skimp on the bacon, which tasted thick and smoky. I wish I could have tasted more of the beers. The bartender, Justin, was fun to talk to. I loved the sandwich and the fries. We rented a cabin in the area and tried to find a quick bite to eat and stumbled upon this place. Walked in and the hostess asked if we wanted to sit in the restaurant or the bar and we chose the bar. The bartender didn't even greet us or acknowledge us when we sat down. We waited 5+ mins and ended up asking her for a menu. Still didn't say hi or welcome us in. Service was not so great in my opinion. We orders a burger and fish and chips and 2 drinks. Second time eating here and will eat here whenever I come back to the Gorge. I ate both the seasonal salad and the Mac and cheese. (Lots of food for a hiking gal) I don't know that I've ever eaten a salad with strawberries but it was scrumptious. Can never go wrong with a green salad. Mac and cheese is always my go to. As for our server, we got the three basic minimum interactions...she took our order, brought us our food, and brought us out bill. Unique dishes, most made made from scratch, and the menu is updated often. The fish and chips are the best, also the salads, bibimbap, steak bites - So delicious! I had a bloody mary, which was decent. The food portions are very large....our brussels sprouts appetizer came in a huge bowl. Easy to share. The brussels sprouts were cooked with onion & pork belly, and had great flavor. I saw the mac n'cheese entree go by, and it was a very large portion that could feed a small family. We shared the steak street tacos. They offered to split the entree' and add 1 taco for $6, which we did, but actually didn't need the extra taco. The steak tacos were served with red chimichurri sauce & tortilla chips. They were just okay, lots of steak & corn stuffed inside, not hugely flavorful. Cute place! We stayed in Stevenson for a quick little getaway and visited the Red Bluff Taphouse twice in one day! Our first visit was around lunchtime. We weren't super hungry so we ordered the Marion berry lemon drop and mule with some poke nachos. We ended up coming back for a nightcap and a growler fill. While waiting for an event up at Skamania Lodge, we drove into town to have a quick lunch and run a quick errand. We stopped in at the Red Bluff Taphouse and saddled up to the bar, where our server Kassidy took excellent care of us. Apparently, being 9 months pregnant and ready to burst did nothing to slow her down or diminish her spirits, as she was exceptionally friendly, helpful and conversational. She whizzed around bussing and cleaning tables, serving guests, and making drinks with efficiency. Incredible service! My wife and I split (the highly recommended) grilled cheese and tomato soup, which was as good (nay, better!) than it was propped up to be. The soup was thick and hearty, with garlic and basil, and a perfect counter to the dreary weather outside. The sandwich itself appeared basic, but tasted anything but, and was elevated to lofty heights by a quick dip in the soup! A couple cocktails rounded out the experience, and we left content and happy! The rustic interior, with its original brick walls and woodwork crafted, assembled and treated by hand by the owner from second-hand wood, is humble and inviting, like walking into a cozy living room or den. It appears popular with the locals (and now these two out-of-towners, too!), as it was busy enough when we entered around 1:00pm, and swelled to current capacity, and then some, by the time we left at 2:00pm. With food this good and staff this wonderful, it's not hard to understand why. Along with Clark & Lewie's, the Red Bluff joins the short but prestigious list of quality restaurants in Stevenson! This little town along the river is fast becoming one of our favorite places to stop and dine or drink, which, having only driven through on the way to other places, is something I never thought I would say! read more

This is a new and awesome venue in Stevenson. The smoked brisket was FANTASTIC! the elote was delicious, as was the cornbread. The bartender was our wait staff and she was terrific. What a wonderful find on our Columbia Gorge outing. We will be back. The prices were reasonable and the food was sooo good. We ate outdoors in the heat with a spray mister and shade and awesome music. So perfect! Again, we will be back. We live in Salem Oregon and this is a common destination town for us. read more
