So Chips is a unique place most travelers will just drive right through Bingen and most wouldn't give Chips a second thought - That is their mistake - inexpensive, ok cheap, good beer and the best Brisket sandwich I have had in a long while. Stop by and try it! And have a Rainier Beer while You are at it. All these Craft beers but sometime you just need a BEER!

Had an awesome meal at Chips. We were looking for a local hangout near Hood River after a long day. I was happy to see the place was dressed up for Hollows Eve. Diane was awesome! On Thanksgiving she has a FREE Turkey Dinner. I absolutely love this. Thank you Diane! Your place was awesome! My husband loved the phone calls from your dad!!!

Had to make a pit stop for bathroom and decided to eat and have some drinks. The decor on the walls is fun to look at and includes old historic papers and pictures of people. The barmaid was extremely friendly and even gave us a sample of the delicious brisket as we waited for our burger and fries Order. Great atmosphere, will definitely be back again! Worth the stop in downtown Bingen.

Good brisket or cornbeef sandwiches. The place is best place to eat in town along with its sister restaurant across the street.

Service is always friendly, and the food is always good. Nice lowkey environment that feels comfortable even when busy.

There was a nicotine pouch in my beer. Not recommended, I've never had a headache quite like that.

Phenomenal food! The brisket sandwich had a perfectly toasted and dressed bun and brisket to die for. Great bar!

Never had a refill offered the entire time there nor did anyone around us. We got up to pay for drinks and leave that's food when our food came out and hour later. So, it was thrown in To-go boxes, no bag, no utensils, no paper towels, the pulled pork sandwiches were burnt on the bottom bun and cold and stale on the top bun. The meat was dry and cold, the sandwich had mayo even though the waitress told us it did not also the menu didn't show mayo in the ingredient list. The Mac and cheese was old mush looked like it was a week old. The waitress was on her phone and the cook just looked like he had nothing to do. Won't ever go back there.

Not a big deal at all, but a simple sign to indicate that would be helpful. That being said, our server was very attentive and friendly the entire time. We ordered a variety of burgers, including a the Impossible Burger as I'm a vegetarian. It was great to see a vegetarian option on the menu as you never know in smaller towns. The food was well received, with the brisket and smoked mac n cheese being the major highlights. My family could not stop raving about how tender and flavorful the brisket was. My Impossible Burger was really good and although I try to avoid the processed meat alternatives, it was a good cheat meal. They have a few TVs inside, included a big screen TV that was playing the Sunday Night Football game. This would be a great spot to watch a sports game while grabbing a bite to eat or a beer/cider. The price point was reasonable as well. Definitely a spot to checkout if you are in the area.

I didn't get photos of our starters, but they were great - try the fermented vegetables. The goat cheese and chutney with focaccia was excellent, the cheese wasn't overly "goaty". We had the rockfish (pictured), and I really liked the light crispy outside of the fish and the nice tapenade. Not sure I remember the name of the desert, but whatever it was...we thought it was going to be too much for 2 people, but we ended up licking the plate clean. Wow. We hadn't been for a few months but ordered our go to Salmon for me and steak for her. First off I hadn't noticed the menu change so that's on me so expected cedar plank salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and a vegi medley. Instead I got a tiny cut of salmon on top of some overpowering rice crap that was awful and overpowered the salmon. Her steak was over cooked. Something has changed but with wine and 20% we were at $300 for a total crap meal. Too bad but they must have a new cook or ?? Well at least the local wine was terrific and the service polite and prompt. We didn't complain which would have just made the experience worse.

Definitely got the small town diner feel here, and everything on the menu sounded so good! They also have a specials board inside so make sure to take a look before you make your decision. I finally decided on the south of the border omelette, which also comes with hash browns or potatoes or fruit, and a biscuit or muffin or toast. Such a satisfying and filling meal! The omelette itself was not short on ingredients at all, and I loved the cilantro. The menu did mention homemade salsa but I didn't see any of that on the side or inside. Other than that, the eggs were cooked nicely. I picked the chorizo biscuit on the side and it was so soft and fluffy inside! I also appreciated the amount of options on the kids menu. There was plenty more options than just your standard pancake, bacon, and eggs. Our kids loved the pigs in a blanket which was actually quite big and perfect for our two kids to split. Service was awesome, our server was so kind and even brought out our friend's son's maple bar with a candle because he mentioned it was his birthday. She did it without us even asking which was so sweet! The food came out so quickly too despite the entire restaurant being full. Great experience here at Bette's!

The meat was very tender and lots of flavor (tasted high quality). It's served with a heaping order of fries (or you can upcharge it for $2 and do salad, soup or sweet potato fries). Their chicken wings were tender and came off the bones easily while still having crispy edges. Perfection.
