Ordered a mocha to-go online. It was ready when I arrived and I found street parking out front. The flavor was not my favorite as it seemed to be more of a dark roast. Maybe there are better things to order than what I ordered!

Definitely the best place to drop in for pastries, coffee, and lounging in Hood River, Oregon. Exit 63! We were here a few years ago while passing through- on our way to Boise from Gresham. Believe me when I say the baristas are genuinely friendly and chill. That's my favorite part. There is plenty of parking outside and seating inside. I ordered the same cinnamon roll that I had a few years ago. It's between a cinnamon roll and a croissant ... flaky, crispy and soft in the middle. I really love the swivel chairs around the counter. It gives this coffee shop and Old Cafe feeling. I had to show the barista my Yelp video from 7 years panning the coffee shop. Now I have a new one. On this beautiful Tuesday, there are plenty of customers enjoying themselves just like we are.

Coffee was good. Service is hit or miss. When mom, dad, and the kids are ordering you can forget it. The staff doesn't redirect them out of the way until they are ready to order. Instead, the place comes to a standstill while everybody waits. I've tried Ground a few times and on occasion had to leave for Doppio Coffee in order to get timely service. "No Dog People Allowed" sign on the front door. That's an unwelcoming sign. There's room for a "No Kids or Goats" sign, but they didn't put one of those on the door. I wonder why?

20oz Iced Quad Shot White Mocha with Oat Milk. Soooooo good!!!

Stopped in Hood River for a coffee break on the way to Pendleton and I'm so glad we did! We ordered two 20oz Iced Quad shot White Mochas with oat milk that had what seemed like thick homemade whipped cream and they were amazing!! Hands down the best Iced White Mocha I've ever had!!! Service was quick and employees were friendly! I also loved the vibe of the place and design/decor. The only problem is Ground coffee shop is 5hrs from where I live so I won't get to enjoy that amazing coffee very often.

Had a small iced latte and pecan scones. I could have that scone everyday of life and never be tired of it... Go get one for yourself.

The Honeybee Latte (lavender and honey) was perfectly balanced.

I can see why this place has great reviews because it's trendy without even trying. Wait staff are great and the product was very good.

Ground holds down the Eastern end of Oak, a Hood River main street before it turns to cross the Hood River. With their logo and sturdy fiberglass scoop chairs, they are referencing mid-century modern. They are in a vintage building marked by a plaque as the Yasui Brothers Mercantioe Built in 1930. There is a selection of outdoor seating facing South on Oak or in their North courtyard. With coffee, they have a selection of pastries, soup (in the cool months) salads and sandwiches. They have a seasonal special drink chalkboard menu. I had the vegan berry almond muffin which was full of flavor and the Tokyo Drip which wasn't too sweet. If course you can add more sweetening if you want more. I'm not a breakfast sandwich person but they have many choices there. They have a collection of small local artworks for sale. Mushrooms are the rage in art now as you can see. They also have some local small production foods like Wally's hot sauce and they use it in house too in the customer condiment options. It's counter service, so very fast.

One of the only local coffee shops that opens early! We were glad to be able to grab drinks before we headed out of town. My vanilla cardamom coffee was delish! Husband's Americano was weak, so maybe ask for an extra shot?

These people make good coffee. When I say "coffee" I mean cappuccino (as I've written before; I guess I'm a cappuccino snob?). Anyways, the cappuccino was good and the cookie was good. The only issue I had was the poor service from the two young girls behind the counter. The girl at the register was great, but the two in charge of putting together the order were sloppy. They were looking at a phone and were more interested in laughing and talking with each other than doing their job and giving customer service. I'll go back to this place ... hopefully the service will be better next time.

Seating area on Sunday morning. Probably much more crowded in afternoons

I love the wonderful energetic feel of this place. I was camping in the area and drove into town on a Sunday. It's got a nice relaxing ambiance. This place is located on a trendy part of Hood River. The people working behind the counter were courteous and easy to talk to. I thought the service was very friendly I had breakfast here and it was a little bit on the small portion size - however the price was not high so I think it was fair One downside is the small bathroom size but that's nothing to be concerned about. Would come back here again

My favorite coffee shop in Hood River! First of all, they weathered COVID perfectly and eloquently, without going overboard with the rules and hand sanitizer, like most downtown businesses in HR, while still creating a safe environment with masks and physical distancing. More importantly, the coffee and food are terrific! A little pricey, but it's worth it and is my weekly indulgence when I just want a coffee, a breakfast sandwich, and I just want to chill on their couch on a morning off. Also in perfect balance are the employees...neither in-your-face Dutch Bros nor angsty Freshies from across the street with minimal conversation. (I like Freshies, btw. They have great bagels, but I just don't expect much in the way of a friendly hello when I go there). Lastly, and also unlike most other downtown businesses, Ground seems like a politics-free zone. Everywhere I go these days, it seems as though I'm bombarded with political viewpoints in one form or another. It's so nice to just be able to sit, drink coffee, and look at photography on the walls.

I was very disappointed this visit. I had crabby condescending service, a very weak matcha latte, and the place was freezing.

If it's not safe i'd rather someone just tell me. This kid wrote down "celiac" 3 different times acted like he understood what celiac was and the precautions. I think received my sandwich and asked if it was the gluten free bread, he looks at me like that was the craziest thing to ask. Takes it back comes back out with the gluten free bread on the same plate and told me to change the bread off the sandwich which is not at all how celiac works. He then took it back a third time after i asked for a refund and told me it was gluten free but it was the same bread as the first time. I know this review won't help everyone but hopefully it'll help someone. I saw a few other people with celiac said it was safe and i'm glad they had a good experience. But I got incredibly sick and it's insane to me that they didn't just tell me no. Will now be sick for 3 days so thanks.

During our first visit, we arrived kind of late, and there was only one loaf of bread left, and two small baguettes, and so we bought everything they had and a couple coffees and a chai latte to take with us to the cabin. That ended up being an incredible choice because the baguettes made amazing grilled cheese sandos in our little kitchenette, and the rye bread was a hit for breakfast with avocado. The chai was delicious and the coffee was stellar. We stopped back in for lunch on our way back home, and had yummy breakfast sandwiches that were delicious! My croissant breakfast sandwich was next level with delicious bacon and flaky, buttery croissant deliciousness that I would have once more in a heartbeat! It's a lively little joint, located in the great part of town , with wonderful young folks running the place and a great mix of tourists and locals.
