Mike's is definitely a treat and worth the wait in line. I love his sign at the door!! Great ice cream! I had the red raspberry, my grandkids had the double chocolate chip. Both were delicious!

What a cute spot! A walk in ice cream place with plenty of flavors to choose from. They also sell very cute merchandise as well (I was eyeing those baseball caps). I had the Mint Oreo & I loved it! Husband had raspberry cheesecake and he enjoyed it as well. They even let our dog have a pup cup (vanilla ice cream). They had plenty of outdoor seating which was so nice to just eat our ice cream and enjoy the evening. Note: they only take cash or check!

Really good ice cream, lots of flavor options and ours was nice and creamy. Service was great, very nice and accommodating. They have some nice seating areas outside where you can enjoy your treats . Would recommend.

K Chip ice cream. So good!

I have always wanted to try Mike's but usually am here when they are closed. The staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable. I got the K Chip which was delicious. There were lots of great dark chocolate chunks and beautiful texture. I wouldn't have minded a slightly stronger coffee flavor, but that's a personal preference.

Super cute and quaint ice cream shop in the downtown Hood River area! The servers were so friendly and patient as we excitedly tried their fun flavors (like marionberry or even banana ice cream!). They have a cute sitting area with a little play area for little kids which is so cute and lovely. We hope to come back and try even more of their flavors soon!

I love Mike's! I make it a priority to stop by whenever I am in the area, it is a must. Banana is my go-to but you can't go wrong with any flavor really. I always get the kids scoop and it is more than enough! They say the baby scoop is the size of a golf ball but it seems bigger than that actually. Cash only but they do IOUs! I forgot cash once and it wasn't a big deal at all.

Road-tripping through Oregon and staying a night at Hood River. When I searched for top destinations in Hood River - Mike's Ice Cream was highly recommended. I chuckled when I arrived and saw its business hours and realized why this spot is the "happening" spot in town (because everything else around the area is closed by 5pm). Loved the patio and the chairs, it was nice to sit, relax, chat and enjoy my double scoop ice cream on the waffle cone. The boys at the counter were really nice and patient and allowed me to sample several of their ice cream. The banana and coffee ice cream was delicious! Love this place. Definitely stop by for a scoop of ice cream if you are visiting this part of town.

This is a great local spot that has great ice cream, especially ice cream sundaes if you're into that type of thing and I had to get a Neapolitan one that's perfect for the spring or summertime weather. They have a great little selection. It's a small, very small little shop but cute and I am assuming this has been around for quite a while because I swear I've seen it when I was a kid but I could be wrong. This is a great staple of the community and it keeps going as the places here are local in the small town.

A cute local spot in the town of Hood River. I've always seen a line through their doors but with such friendly service and yummy ice cream, it's not surprising why. They only take cash but are sooo eager for you to have your ice cream first that they're also open for you to mail in a check! Their ice cream flavors were straightforward but very well done. The Coffee ice cream was super rich and had a strong espresso taste. The Pistachio and Almond was also very nice. Loved the texture from the almond mix-ins. Totally would come back for more whenever I'm in town!

Best way to finish a day of shopping on Oak Street is a stop at Mike's for some really delicious ice cream! Located right next to the Ruddy Duck, there are lots of bright Adirondack chairs in shades of turquoise to sit and enjoy your dish or cone. They are generous with their servings and have the usual flavors plus unique offerings. Salted caramel is my fave and I tend to get it every time. On a warm summer day they get super crowded so make sure to bring your patience! They work through the line as fast as possible. We stopped by around 2pm recently and totally lucked out, being second in line. We moved a chair into the shade and enjoyed our cold and sweet treat while people watching and enjoying the crisp fall day.

They have plenty of outdoor seating for your little pups, though the water dish they left out was unattended to. As far as food, they had a whole plant-based menu to meet my vegan needs. More important, they were able to make a gluten-free sandwich for my partner with celiac. They took precautions to minimize cross-contact with gluten items, including wrapping the sandwich up separately and bringing it out to us first before bringing out our gluten containing items. The three in our group had mixed reviews on the food quality. I enjoyed my reuben very much. My partner and his mom thought their food was okay, and their portions were too small for the price. As far as the actual store goes, they carry a lot of what your typical natural foods store or food co-op would carry, though the prices seem more along the lines of what a Whole Foods would charge. For example, $3.50 for a single avocado. Considering that they are a small business in a somewhat touristy town, I guess that is a sound business decision. All in all, a good experience, just expect to pay a little more if you are going to shop or eat there!

He said that he was there to pick up an online order for "Jamie". They said to pull forward. He was greeted by a young man who handed him straws and 2 of our drinks. My husband asked for a drink carrier and the young man put them in a drink holder and someone came up with the pineapple tajin drink, added that to the drink holder then handed that to my husband and ask him to please pull into spot #2 and they would bring him the rest of the order. He waited in that spot for about 12 mins before someone came out to ask "What was your order?" My husband said "what do you mean, what is my order? Its an online order for Jamie." The young man said "OK, I will be right out with your food." A few mins later, he came out with food. My husband checked the bags and there was a deluxe double cheese single stack burger missing and also a fry. He told the young man what was missing. The young man goes back inside and brings out 1 fry. No burger. So my husband says "Im still missing the burger." So the young man, once again, goes back inside and comes out with a woman who comes to my husband's vehicle with a long receipt and is asking to see what food he has already received. So they went through the food and she first said "you dont even have fries in your order." My husband said "Yes, we do. Its right here on the receipt." She apologized and went back in for the missing burger and brought it out and he left. After my husband came home, we went through the food and his chicken basket was a disaster. They just threw the chicken strips in the bottom and tossed fries on top. It literally looked like it had been dropped. It was super sloppy. He was also missing his toast that was supposed to come with it. A fish sandwich was ordered as well customized with a piece of white american cheese and asked for them to remove the lettuce. No cheese, soggy lettuce. We paid extra for the cheese. We understand that things happen sometimes, but this restaurant in particular seems to always have some kind of issue. We haven't done an online order before. I figured we would try it since there had been problems in the past just ordering in the drive thru. I apologize for this rambling, but every time we have been to this location (maybe 6 times now) we have some type of issue. My husband was at DQ for 20+ mins before he got everything straightened out and could go home.

I'm from California, so I'm still not fully used to the way food is served everywhere you go in Oregon. I was thinking, 'Espresso, ice cream, and antiques? That's different.' Is the musky smell of antiques compatible with food service? Not sure how I feel about this, but I ordered a huckleberry soda, anyway. I was curious. It turned out to be one of the best flavored sodas I've ever had. I loved the huckleberry syrup. The antique selection was well-curated. Lots of interesting trinkets and jewelry. Everything you'd expect from an antique shop, plus a gentleman's room full of old Playboys tucked into the back. Service was friendly, and there was plenty of parking. There was no wait. This is a great alternative to stopping by one of the big busy farms if you're just looking for a quick drink, or (obviously) if you're into antiques.

One woman was working; I'm not sure if she was the owner. She was mid-way through an ice cream order for the customers ahead of us, so we shopped while we waited our turn. We had items in our hands when she finished with the other customers, flipped the lights off with us still standing inside, and walked out the door to take down the open sign. When she came back in -- us standing there in the dark -- she announced she was closing. We said, "Okay, I guess no ice cream? We'll put our stuff back." Not a word. No "sorry." No "I can still ring you up or get you anything." No acknowledgment at all. She just stood there and watched us set everything down and walk out, kids and all. She made it clear we weren't worth the effort, and did it in the rudest way available to her. Two disappointed teenagers, a wasted drive, and the low point of what had been a great day in the area. Can't tell you a thing about the ice cream. What I can tell you is how this place treats people who show up before closing time. Don't bother.
