Delicious, authentic, gelato. The owner is from Lucca so this is the real deal. We arrived about 20 mins before their official open and the he was setting up the comfortable outdoor seating on the patio in preparation for a new day. He kindly offered to serve us rather than make us wait. I ordered the strawberry gelato and a scoop of cantaloupe sorbetto. Outstanding fruit flavors on a perfectly crisp cone! Great location and great service, highly recommend! read more

Love the misters outside of the business! Great for a hot evening. The staff is friendly and quick to take orders. At this time when I took the picture, I got the Banana Bourbon gelato. I liked it, didn't love how the bourbon tasted, but came back the next day and got the Olive Oil gelato. RUN and get the Olive Oil gelato if you see it on the menu! It's sweet, maybe with a bit of lemon, and tastes like sweet cream. Highly recommend you eat a meal at Solstice Wood-Fired Pizza and stop by Romeo Gelato afterwards for dessert. read more

Always a line when it's a warm & sunny day because who doesn't want gelato while hanging out on the water in Hood River? This is a small stand with limited flavors, but the flavors they have are delicious. When I have ice cream I go for vanilla based treats but when I have gelato, I love the intense fruit flavors like lemon or raspberry, both so creamy and bursting with flavor. Refreshing in a hot day! Prices are high, $6 for a small cup but when it comes to gelato, that's all I need. Pick a flavor, get a cup and enjoy while watching the wind surfers do their amazing runs. The gelato here is good and the location can't be beat since it's right next to the water as well as some nice restaurants and breweries. There are two things preventing me from a five star review. The first is the limited selection of gelato flavors. Being in a small space unfortunately limits the amount of flavors they can offer. And with the limited selection, it was tough to find flavors that my kids liked. The vanilla was the only flavor that my rather picky son would eat, but it had a lemon flavor to it that my son did not like. Neither of my kids finished their gelato, which is rare. Perhaps it was just a fluke, but if you're looking for a large selection or have picky kids, this may be a challenge. But for most adults, this place will hit the spot! read more

Gelato is sooooo good. We started with the Affogato who is a vanilla gelato with a shot of expresso. The expresso was nice and strong but not overbearing. The vanilla was smooth and rich in flavor. Perfect balance between expresso and gelato. The raspberry gelato was creamy and melted in your mouth. The raspberry flavor reminded me of fresh Oregon raspberries. Nothing beats an afternoon stroll along the waterfront in Hood River, followed by some fresh, homemade gelato. My partner and I lived in Italy for several years and we've had our fair share of gelato. Cicci brings back so many memories of the delicious treats we often enjoyed during our time there. The city has done a tremendous job developing the waterfront business district, and Cicci couldn't be in a better location. Conveniently located across from Waterfront Park, between Pfriem Family Brewers and Solstice, this little pop-up offers 6 flavors at a time, along with espresso. For $4 (a little) or $6 (a little more) you get handcrafted gelatos. I liked the two I tried - Bacio, which some spots would call Gianduja, a blend of dark chocolate and hazelnut - and the Caramel Sea Salt. Both tasted like a fairly rich and creamy ice cream, not quite as dense as other gelatos I've had. But the flavors were good and walking along the river watching kiteboarding and eating ice cream is a nice way to enjoy the river. Each day they seemed to have a good mix of fruit and chocolate flavors. With one person behind the small counter you might wait for your scoop, but just take a breath and enjoy the scene. read more

Really, really great flavor! Lemon was great to see - quite traditional and delicious - while raspberry was extremely exceptional! Pretty pricey and no cones, though. Could certainly step up their game to compete with some of the best in Europe but great find in this town! The cutest little set up with the nicest service. The gelato was amazing too. I went with a strawberry & vanilla combo... Best of both worlds creamy and really berry. (I think her name is Chloe she was working Saturday night closing ) we talked about the set up and how they make the gelato. I love that they use local ingredients. Gelato was fresh, creamy, cold, delicious. Gorge Berry and the Chocolate one were delicious. Love eating with the tiny spoons just because. Staff are friendly, area is neat, a few chairs if you can get one and its in the shade mostly so no burning in line. Parking sucks though theres plenty of it and its still pretty full most of the time. read more

Excellent gelato! Quality is the same as the first time that I tried it. Was in hood river the last two weekends (yes, that good!) and some of the gelato choices had already changed. Disappointed that I couldn't get the raspberry sorbet and the vanilla with hints of lemon. But I did get to try new flavors. Delicious and addicting! I have eaten A LOT of gelato in Italy and consider myself a gelato snob. It is almost impossible to chose which flavors to commit to because they are all so good. They are very generous and patient with tastes. And new ones are introduced and rotated in all the time. Favorites include Hazelnut, Lemon, and of course Stracciatella. Great juicy burgers, nice fries/tots/rings and root beer floats/ shakes. This is the perfect place to head after a day on the water or hiking. It can take a little while to get the food, but it's always made to order. They are very accommodating of changes and friendly. This is classic drive-in food. Not pretentious and frankly I found it a good value for the money. Sure if you get sea food it's going to be more expensive, but sea food is always more expensive.
